UFC president Dana White is the latest to react to Conor McGregor’s recent sexual assault allegations, acknowledging that he doesn’t know enough about the situation to talk in detail.

McGregor, who retired from UFC earlier this year, was reportedly detained this week in Corsica on alleged “attempted sexual assault.” The former UFC double champ was questioned and released by authorities, and “vigorously” denies the claims against him.

While McGregor is no longer a part of UFC (for now) he remains one of the most high-profile stars in the sport. So when his name hits the headlines, it is usually brought to the attention of White.

“I don’t know enough about the Conor situation,” said White during UFC Vegas 10’s post-fight press conference (full replay HERE). “I know what you’ve read, I’ve read the same things. Conor is retired, I haven’t talked to him, I’m sure he doesn’t need my help or advice.”

White, who has been in business with “Notorious” since his UFC debut back in 2013, acknowledged that it’s difficult to be Conor McGregor in public spaces.

“When Conor blew up and Conor was massive, he showed up one time at the venue with so much security. I was like this is f—king ridiculous. Nobody needs this much security. This kid is going to blow all of his money just on security. Then me and Lorenzo met up with him one night and holy sh-t. You just don’t understand how big this kid is until you go out with him. He was literally getting mobbed. People were going crazy.

“I’ve never seen anything like that and you guys have to realize, imagine what it’s like with him in Europe,” he continued. “There were old people freaking out when he would walk by. It wasn’t just young people. That kind of a life, crazy sh-t happens when you’re in that kind of lifestyle. You try to go out. You try to act normal. You try to be normal. It’s hard to do sometimes.

“I’m not defending Conor in any way shape or form, I don’t know enough about the situation to talk about it at all. But I do know I’ve gone out with him publicly before and it is batsh-t nuts.”

McGregor, 32, last competed at UFC 246 this past January when he smashed Donald Cerrone with a 40-second TKO (highlights HERE). The former UFC champion has remained content in his most recent retirement — even getting engaged along the way — but has already dropped some hints of a potential comeback.

In fact, USADA just paid a visit to McGregor’s yacht earlier this week.
