Dana White just dropped one of the most stacked fight cards of the year.
The UFC CEO took to social media early Saturday to reveal the highlighted matchups for the upcoming UFC 308 pay-per-view (PPV) card on Oct. 26 from inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Let’s just say the promotion didn’t leave one stone unturned for its PPV return to “Fight Island.”
In the main event of UFC 308, undefeated UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria will put his 145-pound title on the line for the first time against former division king and current “BMF” champion, Max Holloway. The two have been lining up for a massive clash inside of the Octagon and now they have an official date.
The fun doesn’t stop there.
In the co-main event, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will be back in action against undefeated contender Khamzat Chimaev. The two fighters were originally booked for UFC Saudi Arabia this past June, but “Borz” was forced to pull out due to a serious illness. He was replaced by Ikram Aliskerov, who Whittaker shut out with a first-round knockout (watch HERE).
Luckily, UFC’s red carpet for Abu Dhabi stretches even further. White also announced that UFC 308 will feature a heavyweight rematch between former champion Ciryl Gane and red-hot contender Alexander Volkov. Not to mention a critical light heavyweight clash between top contenders Magomed Ankalaev and Aleksandr Rakic.
