Last month, UFC president Dana White confirmed that he was working with Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a ‘spectacular event’ in late 2020, with fans speculating that the UFC was looking to book a rematch between Floyd and Conor McGregor.

According to a recent interview with TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, however, White claims Mayweather could rematch Manny Pacquiao under the Zuffa Boxing banner, as the combat sports promoter believes Zuffa Boxing could ‘add a ton of value’ to the fight.

“I think that the Mayweather Pacquiao fight will probably happen again and it makes sense,” White said, per The Body Lock MMA’s Abhinav Kini. “Especially the way Manny Pacquiao has looked in his last couple of fights.

“That’s something that could happen. I truly believe we would add a ton of value to that fight. So anything is possible.”

The last time Mayweather fought in a professional capacity was when he TKO’d Conor McGregor in their blockbuster superfight at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena back in 2017, beating the Irishman to extend his boxing record to a perfect 50-0.

Pacquiao, 41, dropped a unanimous decision to Mayweather in a hugely disappointing and lackluster fight back in 2015 but the Filipino has since gone on to win two WBA welterweight titles, most recently beating Keith Thurman via split decision to capture the WBA super welterweight belt.

White claims his special event featuring Mayweather will take place in ‘October or November’ of this year.
