Donald Cerrone is loaded with confidence heading into his UFC 246 clash with Conor McGregor.

“Cowboy” (36-13) will meet McGregor (21-4) in the headlining slot at UFC 246. Cerrone told MMA Fighting just why “Cowboy” is the better fighter.

“Do I feel like a better mixed martial artist? Absolutely,” Cerrone said. “I feel like I’ve been in the trenches. I’ve been in the big fights. I’ve walked this path many, many times… This is my 51st MMA fight coming out of that tunnel. Literally, I’ve done it more than anybody.”

Cerrone did not dispute a welterweight bout when approached by the UFC. As far as he was concerned, McGregor’s name was all it took for Cerrone to sign the dotted line.

“We’re both going to have a healthy, fat camp. How about that? We don’t have to worry about battling with diet and all that s—t,” he exclaimed. “We just get to go be who we want, train hard and show up healthy and I’m excited. All in all to get the best Conor, the best ‘Cowboy,’ this is the only way to do it.”

UFC 246 takes place on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
