Strikeforce fighter Ronda ‘Rowdy’ Rousey kept her record unblemished by finishing opponent Julia Budd in just 39-seconds in Friday night’s Strikeforce Challengers 20 co-main event. Rousey has finished all four of her opponents in under a minute, and is now looking at former women’s champ Sarah Kaufman as her next opponent, that is before she meets 135 pound champ Miesha Tate.
“I tried to go for a throw against the cage and she tried to stop it. She stepped forward but I’ve been there before so I swept out that foot. And then, did I fall into a mount? I fell into a mount. No, I fell into half-guard and switched to mount and then I knocked her a couple of times. And then I thought ‘Hey, she’s probably going to turtle over if I punch her in the face a couple of times.’ She tried turning over and then I jumped on her arm. I felt it going out… the referee told me not to say anything to her. She wasn’t saying anything or tapping so I was like ‘Alright’, I’m going to try and stick it behind my back to pull it back even farther and then she rolled over. I was like ‘Ew this is pretty gross,’ and it was totally out. But then I couldn’t say anything. So she finally rolled over and everyone saw it and everyone went ‘Ew!’ and that was it.”
