“Max, he doesn’t have punching power. But I have punching power. I can beat him.”

Shots fired.

Chan Sung Jung aka The Korean Zombie has called out former featherweight champ Max Holloway following his shutout victory over Dan Ige at UFC Vegas 29, telling reporters at the post-fight press conference that ‘Blessed’, who recently declared himself ‘the best boxer in MMA’, lacks punching power.

“Max, he doesn’t have punching power. But I have punching power. I can beat him,” Jung told reporters at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada (h/t MMA News).

Holloway might not have dynamite in his hands but what he lacks in punching power the Hawaiian more than makes up for with his volume and combination punching. Holloway broke the UFC record for the most strikes attempted — and landed — in his stunning, career-defining performance against Calvin Kattar at UFC on ABC 1, landing a total of 445 strikes over the course of five rounds.

As for Jung, the former featherweight title challenger utilized an eclectic mix of strikes and takedowns to pick up a unanimous decision victory over a very game Ige in last night’s UFC Vegas 29 main event. He is currently ranked #4 in the UFC featherweight rankings. Holloway, the former 145-pound king, is ranked #1 behind current champ Volkanovski.
