Robert Whittaker mocks Israel Adesanya celebration you don't get revenge on a 5 year old

Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has said that he does not find Israel Adesanya’s revenge on Alex Pereira’s son amusing.

Following ‘The Last Stylebender’s’ stunning finish over Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya broke out a frenzy of celebrations, including a mock replica which dates all the way back to his kickboxing match with Pereira.

Whittaker, who has shared the octagon with Adesanya twice before, may not have ever lashed out at the current champion, but they certainly don’t see eye-to-eye.

Robert Whittaker questions Israel Adesanya motives in UFC 287 celebration

During an interview with Submission Radio, Robert Whittaker spoke out against the celebration and said that it does not transcend the definition of revenge in this case.

“Mate you don’t get revenge on a five-year-old,” Robert Whittaker told Submission Radio. Any kid that has slighted me in the world, what am I doing? Writing [their names] in my book and then getting them back in 10 years’ time. Dude, Israel has a little black book of anybody that crosses him, he puts their name down.”

Looking back at their first meeting in a record-breaking attendance at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Adesanya made sure to add Whittaker’s name to his book.

Adesanya has received a mixed result of opinions regarding his celebration, with many classifying it as savage and others describing it as petty and unnecessary.

Although in a typical Adesanya fashion, he will not be concerned with what anyone thinks of him, and he certainly had an abundance of emotions he was ready to release after finally defeating his old foe.

As for Whittaker, he may have come up short against the champion twice before, but with Adesanya already defeating many of the contenders at 185, Robert Whittaker may soon be given a final opportunity.

‘The Reaper’ said that he came to the realization following UFC 287 that the only man he would like to forcefully take back the belt from is Adesanya.

“My key feeling for the fight, when Izzy won, was happy. I was happy, man. Because, I didn’t realize it until it almost didn’t happen, that I want to fight Israel. I want to take that belt back from Israel, not Pereira. Everyone was saying, ‘Pereira is a better fight for Rob. Can’t wait to see Rob fight Pereira. Pereira beats Izzy [then] Rob beats Pereira.’ Fresh blood is fresh blood… but now after seeing that it was almost a thing, I could’ve been fighting Pereira next, I realized that I want to fight Adesanya. I want to get the belt back from Adesanya.”

Alex Pereira warning to Jamahal Hill kick your door in UFC light heavyweight

Former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira has issued a stark warning to light heavyweight kingpin, Jamahal Hill ahead of his expected move to the 205lbs ranks, warning him he will make a successful siege of his championship belt.

Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight champion under the banner of the UFC, dropped his championship title last weekend in the main event of UFC 287, suffering a devastating second round knockout loss to Israel Adesanya.

Snatching the championship initially from the CIty Kickboxing striker at UFC 281 back in November of last year, Pereira stopped Adesanya with a fifth round standing TKO at Madison Square Garden.

Suffering his first promotional loss at UFC 287 earlier this month, Sao Paulo native, Alex Pereira was dropped and finished with a brutal KO at the Octagon fence in the second round against Adesanya.

Linked with a division climb post-event, Pereira, a former two-weight champion under the banner of GLORY Kickboxing before his UFC transition, confirmed he would be moving to the light heavyweight limit for his next fight.

Alex Pereira issues chilling warning to Jamahal Hill

Immediately receiving a welcome offer from undisputed division champion, the above-mentioned, Hill, Pereira issued a chilling message and warning to the Dana White’s Contender Series product ahead of his impending bow at 205lbs.

“I’m coming and will kick your door in,” Alex Pereira posted on Instagram in response to Jamahal Hill.

As well as receiving call outs from Hill, Pereira was also offered a route to the title in the form of an all-Brazilian showdown with incoming feature, Johnny Walker – who touted his own knockout ability.

Furthermore, former undisputed light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz – who offered to fight Adesanya in a title rematch at middleweight, maintained he was own to a clash with Pereira at light heavyweight.

Expected to find success at the weight class by many, Pereira’s compatriot, Caio Borralho has claimed the punishing knockout artist would handily defeat both Hill and former gold holder, Jiri Prochazka en route to championship gold

Alex Pereira backed to beat Jiri Prochazka and win UFC light heavyweight title

Following the confirmation of his plans to make a move to the promotion’s light heavyweight division, former middleweight champion, Alex Pereira has been backed by compatriot, Caio Borralho to defeat Jamahal Hill, and former titleholder, Jiri Prochazka to mint himself as king at 205lbs.

Pereira, who held undisputed middleweight gold up until last weekend, headlined UFC 287 in Miami, Florida against Israel Adesanya – suffering a second round KO loss to the Nigerian-Kiwi in the pair’s championship re-run.

In turn, Pereira confirmed his plans to make the move to the light heavyweight division for his next Octagon outing – having landed four victories at five attempts in the middleweight pile since his 2021 move to the UFC.

Alex Pereira tipped to become a two-weight UFC champion

A former two-weight champion under the GLORY Kickboxing banner, Sao Paulo native, Alex Pereira – who has already been offered a title shot by incumbent gold holder, Hill ahead of a light heavyweight move, would likely make short work of opposition according to compatriot, Borralho.

“I’ll tell you this, he (Alex Pereira) can make history at 205 [pounds],” Caio Borralho told MMA Fighting during a recent interview. “Not cutting so much weight and fighting in a division that doesn’t have so many high-level wrestlers and grapplers, it’s the perfect division for ‘Poatan.’”

“I think (Magomed) Ankalaev could be the toughest fight for him [at light heavyweight]; a Dagestani with high-level grappling,” Borralho said. “He’s a southpaw, too, and we saw ‘Poatan” struggle when (Israel) Adesanya changed to [a] southpaw stance. I think Anklaev is one of the toughest matchups for Pereira – even more than Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. I think ‘Poatan’ beats both fairly easily.”

Prior to his championship loss to Adesanya last weekend, Pereira minted himself as the division titleholder with a rallying fifth round TKO victory over the Nigerian-Kiwi at UFC 281 back in November at Madison Square Garden.

Confirming plans to make a move to the light heavyweight ranks, Pereira has already received callouts from former undisputed champion, Jan Blachowicz, as well as incoming UFC Fight Night Charlotte main card feature, Johnny Walker

As for Czech Republic native, Prochazka, the former undisputed champion is expected to challenge Hill next in his return to the Octagon later this year, after a shoulder injury forced him to relinquish his title in December last.

Tristar MMA head coach and mastermind, Firas Zahabi has warned that former middleweight champion, Alex Pereira may never be the same again, after the Brazilian suffered a potentially “career-ending” knockout loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 this month.

Pereira, who headlined UFC 287 last weekend in a middleweight championship rematch against the above-mentioned, Adesanya, dropped a stunning second round KO loss to the Nigerian-Kiwi at the Octagon fence.

Backing Adesanya back to the fence with a combination of his own, Sao Paulo native, Alex Pereira was countered with a couple of right hook strikes from Adesanya, before he was sent cannoning to the Octagon canvas, finding himself on the receiving end of more ground strikes.

Firas Zahabi expresses concern for Alex Pereira following UFC 287

Despite leaving the Octagon under his own motion and momentum following UFC 287, Pereira has been warned he may have suffered irreversible damage against Adesanya – potentially “career-ending”, in fact.

“I think that that knockout, the way he fell, the way he was out, the way he got hit three times,” AFiras Zahabi said of Alex Pereira on his YouTube channel. “That could be one of those fight-ending, career-ending fights. Like, he might win a few fights, lose a fight. He might never be the same, once you get knocked out really badly like that. For instance, I’ll tell you, like, when (Jose) Aldo got knocked out by (Conor) McGregor, he was never the same again. When Georges (St-Pierre) TKO’d B.J. Penn, when he gave him that beating – that really bad beating, he was really the same again.” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com

Announcing plans to make a move to the light heavyweight limit following his knockout loss to Adesanya last weekend, Pereira has been linked with an immediate title outing at the division against current champion, Jamahal Hill – while compatriot, Johnny Walker has offered to welcome the Sao Paulo striker to the 205lbs ranks to boot

Johnny Walker welcomes fight with Alex Pereira light heavyweight I can KO anybody

Ahead of his incoming clash against former title challenger, Anthony Smith at UFC Fight Night Charlotte next month, light heavyweight contender, Johnny Walker has offered to welcome former undisputed middleweight champion, Alex Pereira to the 205lbs ranks, boasting his own knockout ability.

Walker, the current #7 ranked light heavyweight contender, enters his UFC on ABC 4 clash against Smith in the midst of a two-fight winning run, most recently landing a first round knockout win over Paul Craig at UFC 283 in his native Brazil back in January of this year.

As for Pereira, the Sao Paulo knockout artist headlined UFC 287 last weekend in a middleweight title defense against former champion, Israel Adesanya, dropping a second round KO loss to the City Kickboxing staple.

Alex Pereira set for a light heavyweight division climb

In turn, the Brazilian confirmed he would moving to the light heavyweight limit of 205lbs for his next walk to the Octagon, having dropped undisputed middleweight spoils.

“Hi, folks, like I promised, I’ll announce you big news on my channel,” Alex Pereira said on his YouTube channel. “My next fight will be in 205[lbs] [division]. Yeah, you heard right – my next fight will be in 205[lbs]. I think I did my work in 185 and now I’m feelin’ good to go up to 205. Like I told you, when I’m feeling good, I will go up – this will be something natural. And now I think it is.”

“… All of you saw the provocation from (Israel) Adesanya after the fight – he acts as if he has won against me three times,” Alex Pereira explained. “But it’s not like this. But I understand – or try to understand, the happiness he has. It was his dream to win one time against me. And now he did. But let’s see what will be his behavior. I’m going to light heavyweight because it’s a good option for me. But I’m sure if I stay in this division (middleweight), I can fight against him directly. Let’s see, how he behaves.”

Receiving a potential welcoming to the division by current champion and would-be common-foe, Jamahal Hill, Pereira has also been offered a path to a light heavyweight debut by compatriot, Walker.

“Let’s come,” Johnny Walker told MiddleEasy during an interview. “Everyone is going to have to welcome him [Alex Pereira]. Whatever it takes. I’m happy to [fight him]. That is what I do for a living. I don’t ;ick fights. Whatever [the[ UFC books for me I accept and I’ll be happy. I make the top-10, go there, mission accomplished.”

Jamahal Hill

Jamahal Hill is already locked in on a potential showdown with former middleweight champion Alex Pereira.

Following his second-round knockout loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287, Alex Pereira is ready for a change of scenery. The Brazilian boogeyman revealed that he would be moving up to light heavyweight with eyes locked on the division’s top dog, Jamahal Hill. Welcoming the challenge that ‘Poatan’ brings to the Octagon, Hill took to Instagram, posting a short video clip with the caption, “Can’t wait to see you.”

In case it wasn’t already clear, Jamahal Hill made sure to tag Alex Pereira in the post, letting the world know exactly who he was calling out. It didn’t take long for Pereira to respond to the social media post. “I am coming and will kick your door in,” Pereira replied in the comments.

The List of Light Heavyweight Contenders Continues to Grow as Jamahal Hill Eyes First Title Defense

Jamahal Hill has no shortage of viable contenders after claiming the 205-pound crown with a dominant 25-minute performance against former champion Glover Teixeira at UFC 283 in January.

With Alex Pereira already expected to make the jump to light heavyweight, it now looks like Israel Adesanya won’t be too far behind. Falling short in his bid for two-division glory at UFC 259, ‘The Last Stylebender’ is setting his sights on challenging Jamahal Hill in an effort to double up on UFC gold.

Of course, Jamahal Hill is not the type of fighter that backs down from any one man, but there does appear to be a sizable line forming near the top of the 205-pound weight class. Aside from Pereira and Adesanya, Hill still has former champion Jiri Prochazka to contend with once fully healed from shoulder surgery. You’ve also got a high-stakes light heavyweight scrap between top ten standouts Johnny Walker and Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith at UFC Fight Night on May 13 that could potentially produce a contender.

Things are certainly beginning to look a little busy at the top of 205, but the likeliest scenario will see Jamahal Hill defend his title against either Israel Adesanya or Alex Pereira. That’s where the money is and the UFC is in the business of making money. When and where that fight happens is anyone’s guess, but with Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic ruled out of International Fight Week festivities, there is an opening this summer that desperately needs to be filled fast.
