UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo hit back at Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan.

Cejudo has been angling for a title defense against Jose Aldo — despite the latter losing his bantamweight debut to Marlon Moraes, albeit a bit controversially.

Yan has since gone back-and-forth with Cejudo on social media and recently called for him to be stripped of the 135-pound crown so that he and Sterling could fight for the vacant title.

It’s an idea Sterling is on board with as he has been tagging Cejudo recently as well.

Well, Cejudo finally had a response for the duo:

“Since you and that ugly Russian are so obsessed with me. Why don’t you guys have a make out session ? and winner has the honor to bend the knee to King Triple C! P.s stop licking those ashy lips playboy. @josealdojunior is next to bend the knee! ???

Sterling would clap back soon after:

“You snapping you fun-sized Fantastic 4 “Thing” doppelgänger?? Like I said, if you want to actually sell PPV’s, I’ll be ready to smack you around in Brooklyn, on the Khabib-Ferguson card. It’s not my fault you can’t move the needle by yourself CePooPoo!?

What do you make of the bantamweight title beef? Who do you think Cejudo should defend against next?

It appears Petr Yan wants Henry Cejudo to lose another title.

Cejudo was recently stripped — though he claims he vacated it — of the flyweight title as he plans on competing solely in the bantamweight division moving forward.

But rather than face a top contender such as Yan, Cejudo appears fixated on facing Jose Aldo next — despite the latter losing, albeit controversially, to Marlon Moraes at UFC 245 earlier this month.

Yan, who also competed on the card with a dominant third-round knockout of Urijah Faber, has long campaigned for a bantamweight title shot. After all, he is 6-0 with the UFC and also holds wins over Jimmie Rivera and John Dodson.

But if Cejudo is willing to chase the bigger fights rather than defend the title, “No Mercy” wants him to get stripped.

Instead, he and Aljamain Sterling will compete for the vacant title:

“If triple clown @HenryCejudo looking for easy “money” fights, he can go ahead and chase his intergender championship belt,” Yan tweeted. “While I will fight @funkmasterMMA for real 135 belt #stopthecircus

Sterling is currently recovering from wrist surgery. But given that he is on a four-fight winning streak with his most recent victory coming over Pedro Munhoz, he certainly has a case for a title shot as well.

And he was down with Yan’s suggestion as he tagged UFC president Dana White soon after:

What do you think of Yan’s idea?

Aljamain Sterling Questions Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar’s Moves To Bantamweight

UFC bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling believes Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar’s moves to the 135-pound division doesn’t make much sense. UFC bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling believes Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar’s moves to the 135-pound division doesn’t make much sense.

Aldo will be making his bantamweight debut when he faces Marlon Moraes at UFC 245 on December 14. Edgar, meanwhile, faces young prospect Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event of UFC Raleigh which takes place January 25.

Given their name value and pedigree, it’s entirely possible that a debut win in the division leads one of them to the next shot at Henry Cejudo. Sterling — currently on a four-fight winning streak — hopes that’s not the case:

“Two belts in two different weight classes would be historic, but they’re old in fight years, they’re older in age, and they’re fighting guys who are almost a decade younger than them – so it’s going to be very interesting to see how they do,” Sterling said on the Unfiltered podcast (via MMA Junkie). “I’m not wishing them any type of ill will, but at the same time, I just wish they hug each other for 15 minutes and have boring fights.”

“Funk Master” also questioned why Aldo and Edgar were making the move down especially at this stage of their careers. Given the number of dangerous top contenders at bantamweight as well as the additional weight cut from featherweight, there’s no guarantee that the pair will find success.

However, Sterling virtually answered his own question at the same time:

“I don’t really understand or can make much sense out of it,” Sterling added. “I’m like, ‘You guys established yourselves as (1)45-ers – to come down at that age, that late in your career, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to me.’ It’s the last Hail Mary.

“It’s the last hurrah for another title shot and one more chance for them to become a champion again in another weight class.”

Do you agree with Sterling?

Petr Yan believes he is the number one contender at bantamweight following Aljamain Sterling’s surgery.

Sterling took to Instagram yesterday to announce he underwent wrist surgery, and he had to withdraw from his rumored fight against Frankie Edgar at UFC 244. He also will be sidelined for the foreseeable future, but the surgery should allow him to fight in New York after the NYSAC wouldn’t clear him.

For the last 2 years, I’ve been dealing with a Scapholunate ligament tear in my wrist. Depending how bad you let the injury get can weaken/affect your grip strength, reduces the weight you can lift, the pressure you can put on it, and over time gets extremely painful to do daily activities, like washing my back and my ass! ?? – I kept pushing through the injurys’ limits and telling the doctors that I would be fine with not getting surgery. ????? Recently I was offered a HUGE fight, so I was going to push the limits again, despite having less strength than my left hand (I’m right-handed) to fight the legend, Frankie “The Answer” Edgar, at @thegarden!! – Unfortunately, the NYSAC wouldn’t approve me in time to fight at home for Nov. 2nd. Although the wrist pain got significantly worse from fighting Pedro Munhoz, I was really disappointed, but recognized that maybe this was Gods plan for me. I’ve been searching for clarity or a sign…maybe this was it… Either way, I was ready to risk it all again for a dream come true fight against a legend in my hometown!! I risked it before, right? So why not do it again, as my homecoming to FINALLY fight at home?! – That was my mindset and sometimes us fighters are our worst enemies. Us fighters NEVER fight at 100% anyway, which is why we are, who we are that live this life and do crazy shit that we do! All for a moment of glory, that could last a LIFETIME! ? Thank you to @seanshelby @danawhite and everyone on the @UFC medical team for taking care of me. With Sterling sidelined, it obviously shakes up the bantamweight division. Now, according to surging contender Petr Yan, he believes that he is the top contender and the next viable option for the title shot.

“Speedy recovery to @funkmasterMMAbut with him being out there’s no question who is #1 contender in the division now! If you don’t agree I’m the next in line you can fight me on UFC 245″

Yan is coming off of a decision win over Jimmie Rivera at UFC 238. It was considered his coming out party of sorts as he entered the top-five of the rankings. The Russian is 13-1 as a pro and 5-0 in the UFC. His other wins inside the Octagon have come over John Dodson, Douglas Silva de Andrade, Jin Soo Son, and Teurto Ishihara.

However, with champion Henry Cejudo out and expected to defend the flyweight title next, Yan’s next fight may not be a title fight. It could very well be an interim title, or perhaps a fight with a legend like Urijah Faber or Frankie Edgar. Regardless, the Russian believes he is the number one contender.

Who do you think is the number one contender at bantamweight?

Aljamain Sterling announced he has undergone surgery and it has cost him arguably the biggest matchup of his career in the process.

Sterling seemed to be next in line for the bantamweight title. However, with Henry Cejudo out until 2020, he was exploring other options. One of them seems to be Frankie Edgar.

Edgar moved down to bantamweight recently and according to Sterling, he was offered a fight with “The Answer” at UFC 244 which takes place November 2 in Madison Square Garden, New York.

However, having dealt with a ligament tear in his wrist for the past two years, Sterling required surgery. Given the offer of the Edgar fight, he was ready to skip surgery and push through the pain. However, he also revealed that the New York State Athletic Commission wouldn’t be able to approve him in time:

“For the last 2 years, I’ve been dealing with a Scapholunate ligament tear in my wrist,” Sterling wrote on an Instagram post. “Depending how bad you let the injury get can weaken/affect your grip strength, reduces the weight you can lift, the pressure you can put on it, and over time gets extremely painful to do daily activities, like washing my back and my ass!
