The rematch between Andy Ruiz Jr. and Anthony Joshua takes place on December 7 in Saudi Arabia and promises to be even better than the first one. If that is the case, one Saudi royal will be able to immortalize the fight forever.

According to Mike Goodall, whose company builds and ships boxing rings around the world, a Saudi royal will have the ring for the rematch erected at his home following the event.

“He wants it as a souvenir. He is a boxing fanatic,” Goodall said (via BBC). “It has to be in his palace, complete with blood and gore. Everything that’s on it he wants.”

The ring used for the fight has been transported from Bethnal Green’s York Hall and is one of four that Goodall’s company have shipped to Saudi Arabia.

“Joshua has one to train at the British embassy,” he added. “The other two are at the hotel where fighters are staying. They have a tremendous facility in the basement there, so one is for Ruiz and one is for the undercard fighters.”

Ruiz and Joshua collide for the unified heavyweight titles in the main event at the Diriyah Arena on Saturday. Joshua was the longtime champion before he was stopped by Ruiz in their fight in New York back in June.

Ruiz
Jr caused a monumental upset six month ago when he stepped in late to face
Joshua. After being floored himself in the third round, Ruiz returned fire and
put down the champion. Something he’d do three more times before the referee
stopped the fight in the seventh round.

The first ever Mexican heavyweight champion has accused Joshua of quitting to his face in the build up to the biggest fight of 2019.

Ruiz
Jr is also set to cash in on the rematch and is reportedly set to earn £10m to
put his belts on the line against Joshua.

Since
Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather boxers at the very top of the sport have been getting obscene
purses. In his cross promotional fight with UFC star Conor McGregor the
American earned £211m whilst the Irishman made £66m in his professional debut.

Whoever emerges victorious in Saudi Arabia has even greater riches waiting in their future. Mouth watering clashes with Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are being demanded by the paying public.

The pair previously met for Wilder’s WBC belt and fought to an exciting yet controversial draw. Since going their separate ways they have continued to looked sensational and are now set to face off again in February 2020.

Once both rematches have been decided we will have the opportunity to unify the heavyweight division in a fight that will make more money than any other in the sport.

Should Anthony Joshua be earning more than the actual heavyweight champion?

Ruiz has accused Anthony Joshua of quitting in their first fight.

The pair squared off in June at Madison Square Garden in New York. Ruiz dropped Joshua four times on route to a monumental seventh round stoppage victory.

Joshua looked dazed and confused
after climbing to his feet from the final knockdown. The referee waved off the
fight despite the protests of the Englishman.

Ruiz and Joshua met in the Sky Sports studios to discuss their upcoming rematch, on December 7 in Saudi Arabia. The first ever Mexican heavyweight champions certainly didn’t hold back. (H/T Boxing Scene)

“I think he quit because of the
way it was going. I think he was out of it and didn’t know where he was at that
moment. I think he quit,” Ruiz said.

“Would I have quit under that
sort of attack? It depends on how hurt I was. But I don’t quit. If I fall, I fall.”

But Joshua denies that he quit and says
if he wanted to he would have just stayed down.

“I am a champion no matter what anyone says about me. If the conclusion is that I quit, why didn’t I just stay down? He hit me with a shot that I could not recover from but I still stuck in there,”

“The main thing is I am still fighting. It would be worse if I did not come back — that is true failure.”

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder does not expect the result to change when Andy Ruiz Jr. meets Anthony Joshua in their rematch next month.

Ruiz shocked the world in June when he defeated Joshua to become the new unified heavyweight champion of the world. After much negotiation, the rematch will finally take place December 7 at the Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

And despite Ruiz going into his first title defense as an underdog, “The Bronze Bomber” still thinks he will come out on top again:

“My answer hasn’t changed. I really believe Andy is going to go in there and do it again,” Wilder told Sky Sports (via BJ Penn). “When I look at the first fight and I see certain things as a fighter, there are certain things that a lot of red flags that alert me.

“If that same mindset and moment go into the second fight, Andy Ruiz is going to win that easily.”

Wilder does not only predict Ruiz to win — he wants him to win as well.

Wilder takes on Luis Ortiz in a rematch tonight and if both him and Ruiz come out on top, there’s a greater chance of boxing finally having a unified heavyweight champion:

“And, you know, I prefer him to win,” Wilder added. “We are in the same stable and when he wins, we have the opportunity to unify the division. We finally have the opportunity to have one champion, one face, one name. If Joshua wins I don’t think that is going to be. He’s already stated that. He has no interest in me and fighting. That isn’t what the fans want to hear or see. I want unification. I want one champion, one face, one name. The heavyweight division is too small to have so many champions.

“I understand lower weight classes, they can go up and down. You can have many champions. In the heavyweight division, the heavyweight division is all about the big boys, all about the power. It is a special division… That’s why you need one champion in this sport right here and if I have another fighter willing to put his belt on the line with mine, that is what I want at the end of the day.”

What do you think of Wilder’s comments?

Unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.’s first title defense is less than two months away and he’s already looking like a different fighter.

Ruiz made headlines worldwide when he defeated Anthony Joshua via seventh-round TKO to become the new heavyweight king back in June. It was all the more impressive considering many doubted him not only because he took the fight on short notice, but also because of his chubby physique.

In the end, that didn’t matter at all. However, the Mexican has admitted that he will come into better shape when the rematch takes place in Saudi Arabia on December 7. And that looks to be the case.

In a recent Instagram post, Ruiz posted footage of him training as well as a picture of his shape. And he has certainly shed the pounds.

You can see his transformation below:

“Hard work and dedication?? Proud of my partner @bonobos for sharing my fit story. Grateful to those who inspired my journey – I hope it inspires yours. Dreams can come true! Check out the link in bio #BonobosAFS #ad #LookAtMeNow” Ruiz wrote as the post caption.

Do you think Ruiz will defeat Joshua for a second time? Or will “AJ” reclaim his heavyweight titles?
