Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith are a little skeptical regarding the disturbing accusations being lobbed at Irish MMA superstar Conor McGregor.

Earlier this week, TMZ Sports revealed that Conor McGregor allegedly sexually assaulted a woman following Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Miami. McGregor, along with security staff, is accused of luring a woman into a bathroom inside the Kaseya Center where McGregor reportedly assaulted her in a series of violent and disgusting acts that you can read about in detail right here.

Though the investigation is ongoing, recently released video footage brings some of the alleged victims’ accusations into question. Not everyone is quite sure what to make of the situation, including Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith who discussed the claims during a recent episode of their Believe You Me podcast.

“I’ve gotta pick my words carefully, choose my words carefully,” Bisping said. “Because there is a lot of real accusations. And I’m not saying this isn’t real. I’m just saying that when I read that statement it just seems a little weird…Here’s the real parts. McGregor broke his leg – he’s in the handicapped stall, makes sense…That part stacks up. But hold on, are we supposed to believe that McGregor’s security guards are now in the business of abducting women?”

Conor McGregor broke his leg in July 2021 during the opening round of his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. Since then, McGregor has seemingly recovered from the injury as he has been seen routinely training and touting his “titanium leg” during his run on The Ultimate Fighter.

Anthony Smith Shares Michael Bisping’s Skepticism Over Latest Conor McGregor Accusations

Sharing his thoughts on the situation, Anthony Smith believes that Conor McGregor going into a bathroom stall with some random woman is not all that unlikely given his status as a combat sports megastar, but admittedly has a hard time believing that the security staff for both the NBA and the Miami heat are in the business of aiding in sexual assaults.

“This is me speaking straight to Conor,” Smith began. “Because I’ve gotten myself into some really weird situations…Nothing like this, but things that weren’t true. What I had to learn was that I needed to do a better job being the position that I am in the world…My advice to Conor would be stop putting yourself in positions to be taken advantage of. Don’t be in bathrooms with chicks. Do I doubt that Conor would be in a bathroom with a chick? I don’t doubt that for a second. Do I think that he’s having NBA and Heat security help him sexually assault some random girl? I highly doubt that” (h/t MMA News).

A new report revealed that Conor McGregor and the woman were partying at a nightclub inside the Kaseya Center before leaving together and ultimately ending up in the bathroom. Video footage released by TMZ shows McGregor leading the alleged victim into the bathroom, but nobody appears to follow the pair inside, though multiple members of the security staff on hand can be seen barricading the door.

“My client was under the belief they were leaving and going to the Four Seasons Hotel, as Conor had previously asked her to join him at his hotel room,” attorney Ariel Mitchell said in a statement on behalf of the accuser. “The man with the braids then stopped at the door of the bathroom, when Conor grabbed my client (as seen in the video). My client believed they were leaving, but instead, Conor took her into the restroom.”

Amanda Nunes urged to embrace retirement ahead of UFC 289 stop doing all this sh*t

Slated to headline UFC 289 this weekend in a bantamweight title fight against Irene Aldana, two-weight promotional champion, Amanda Nunes has been urged to embrace a potential impending retirement from active competition, from one-time light heavyweight title challenger, Anthony Smith.

Nunes, the current undisputed featherweight and bantamweight champion, is slated to headline UFC 289 this weekend in the promotion’s return to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – taking main event honors against Mexican replacement, Aldana in a reworked main event clash.

Yet to feature since July of last year, Bahia native, Nunes managed to reclaim the bantamweight throne with a largely one-sided unanimous decision victory over Julianna Peña in the pair’s championship rematch in Dallas, Texas.

Amanda Nunes urged to embrace a potential retirement from MMA

Revealing recently how she had weighed up the prospect of retirement following her stunning December 2021 title submission loss to Peña, Nunes has been urged to make peace with a potential retirement from the sport, by Nebraska native Smith.

“Is it weird that, at times, I look forward to Amanda Nunes’ retirement,” Anthony Smith told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “It’s a very weird sentiment I have. Sometimes when I see her in these fight weeks, in these interviews, and she’s dragged her whole family there, and then she gets in and she fights – sometimes I almost feel bad for her.”

“Like, just go enjoy your life, and just go have fun,” Smith explained. “Like, stop doing all this sh*t. Because a lot of times, she [Amanda Nunes] doesn’t seem to always enjoy it that much.”

A decorated two-weight champion, over the course of her professional career, Nunes has landed spectacular triumphs over the likes of Valentina Shevchenko, Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Holly Holm, Germaine de Randamie, Felicia Spencer, Megan Anderson, and the aforenoted, Julianna Peña.

Khamzat Chimaev tipped to bring tough fight to Kamaru Usman in UFC clash

Former light-heavyweight title challenger, Anthony Smith sees Khamzat Chimaev as a tough stylistic matchup for Kamaru Usman.

It has been rumoured that Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev will square off later this year on the Abu Dhabi PPV in October. It would be a meeting of a decorated and experienced former champion in Usman and an up-and-coming brute in Khamzat Chimaev, who is unlike anyone that the MMA world has seen before.

The matchup has all the making to be a great one and the winner would put themselves in prime position to fight for a title, but when analysing the fight Anthony Smith feels that Usman could be at a disadvantage. Talking the Believe You Me podcasts which he co-hosts with Michael Bisping, Smith discussed the potential welterweight bust up.

It’s a bold move, for sure,” Smith said. “It says a lot about where he is mentally because I think a lot of people were kind of writing him off just a little bit and saying, ‘Oh, he’s done. He’s probably just gonna kind of fade off into retirement.’ But him wanting to fight Khamzat is the total opposite of that.

“That’s a tough fight for Kamaru if I’m just being very honest and fair with my analysis. I think what he does well kind of fits right into Khamzat’s game. I think maybe a younger less beat-up Kamaru, I think that fight’s a little bit different. He’s not as much of a wrestler as he used to be. He used to chase the takedown relentlessly. I don’t think he even has the capability to really do that anymore just with his knees and some of that stuff.” (H/T MMAFighting)

Johnny Walker still confused by Anthony Smith’s ‘You’re attacking my family’ accusation at UFC Charlotte

Johnny Walker is still trying to figure out why Anthony Smith accused him of attacking his family during their Fight Night co-main event more than a week ago.

Johnny Walker moved up to the No. 6 spot on the rankings after scoring a decisive unanimous decision win over ‘Lionheart’ on May 13. While the fight left a lot to be desired, one moment perplexed practically everyone, especially Walker himself. Near the halfway point of the stagnant affair, Smith began talking to his opponent and made a rather confusing accusation.

“I’m mad you attacked my family. You’re attacking my family,” Smith told Walker during the contest. The commentary team was just as confused. To their knowledge, and everyone else for that matter, Johnny Walker had not said or done anything to Anthony Smith’s family. In fact, Walker is still trying to figure out what prompted the out-of-left-field comment as seen in a recent video clip shared on the light heavyweight’s Instagram account.

Were Anthony Smith’s Taunts Toward Johnny Walker Fueled By His Own Traumatic Experience?

Some have speculated that Anthony Smith may have been using a traumatic experience from a few years back as motivation during the contest. In 2020, ‘Lionheart’ revealed that he was the victim of a home invasion. Speaking to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Smith detailed the terrifying incident, saying:

“Typically people don’t break into your house in the middle of the night for any good reasons,” Smith said. “I’m expecting that I’m gonna hear a gunshot or he’s gonna stab me. Like he’s got something. I figure I’ve got about two minutes before whatever he’s got takes me out.”

Smith engaged in a physical altercation with the assailant for more than five minutes before police officers arrived. Perhaps memories of the incident prompted Smith to speak the words while going toe-to-toe with Johnny Walker. Of course, that is pure speculation. The fact is, none of us will know the truth unless ‘Lionheart’ chooses to share it.

With his win over Anthony Smith, Johnny Walker extended his current win streak to three and will likely see a top-five opponent in the near future. Who would you like to see the Brazilian knockout artist square off with next?

Anthony Smith shuts down talk of retirement following UFC Charlotte loss not going out like that

Despite speculation that his mixed martial arts career was currently in limbo off the back of last weekend’s one-sided unanimous decision loss to Johnny Walker, one-time light heavyweight title challenger, Anthony Smith has denied he is contemplating walking away from the UFC, and the sport as a whole.

Smith, who co-headlined UFC Charlotte in his return from an ankle injury suffered against Magomed Ankalaev back in July of last year, suffered a rather comprehensive unanimous judging loss to Brazilian contender, Walker, slipping to his second consecutive defeat and out of the top-5 rankings at 205lbs.

Appearing eager to remove his gloves inside the Octagon following his disappointing loss to Straight Blast Gym staple, Walker, Nebraska native, Smith was touted as set to weigh up his future in the sport by UFC president, Dana White.

“Anthony (Smith) – I thought he was gonna retire too,” Dana White said. “I think after the fight, he told some in the back that he wants to think about it [retirement]. But I don’t know. He always comes to fight – he got busted up, he got hurt, and, you know, he did was he does, he toughs it out. Looked like that fight was a couple leg kicks away from being over. And if Johnny Walker would have put the pressure on him, he probably would have got the finish.”

Anthony Smith addresses his immediate fighting future

However, according to the light heavyweight contender, extra tight hand wraps led him to his attempt to de-glove at UFC Charlotte, not an impending retirement announcement.

“My hand wraps were really tight,” Anthony Smith said on his Sirius XM show. “No, come on, I’m not going out like that.”

“If I ever retire, it’ll be one of two ways,” Anthony Smith explained. “I’ll fade into obscurity and you guys will go, ‘Damn, I haven’t seen Anthony in a while,’ or it will be being drug out of there kicking and screaming.”

Anthony Smith expected to weigh up fighting retirement after UFC Charlotte loss

Former light heavyweight championship challenger, Anthony Smith appeared to be on the verge of calling time on his professional mixed martial arts career following his one-sided unanimous decision loss to Johnny Walker in the co-main event of UFC Charlotte last night. And according to promotional boss, Dana White, the Nebraska native is expected to still contemplate hanging up his gloves from active competition.

Suffering his second consecutive loss in the form of a rather one-sided unanimous decision loss to the #7 ranked light heavyweight contender, Walker, Smith had returned to the Octagon for the first time since suffered a debilitating ankle injury en route to a stoppage loss against recent vacant title challenger, Magomed Ankalaev last summer.

Dealing with a slew of hammering low kicks from Brazilian striker, Walker, Smith appeared on the verge of a stoppage loss in the final moments of the third round, almost finishing the fight near a seated position on the Octagon canvas.

And following the reading of his decision loss, Anthony Smith began to unwrap the tape on his gloves, before taking them off, with those watching and in attendance expecting an impending retirement from the top-5 challenger.

However, failing to secure a post-fight interview with former duel-weight champion, Daniel Cormier as the broadcast rolled onto the main event fight between Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and Jailton Almeida, Smith’s future remained firmly up in the air.

Anthony Smith expected to weigh-up immediate fighting future

And according to the above-mentioned, White – who believed Anthony Smith was about to retire from active competition, the former championship challenger informed personnel backstage that he would be weighing up his future in the sport.

“Anthony (Smith) – I thought he was gonna retire too,” Dana White told assembled media following UFC Charlotte. “I think after the fight, he told some in the back that he wants to think about it [retirement]. But I don’t know. He always comes to fight – he got busted up, he got hurt, and, you know, he did was he does, he toughs it out. Looked like that fight was a couple leg kicks away from being over.
