The injury to Vegh was reported by MMAjunkie.com who confirmed the news with sources close to Bellator. No details on the nature of the injury were noted.
The two fighters are now expected to meet sometime during Season Eight on Spike TV, if Vegh has recovered by that time.
Bellator 84 will take place on December 14, 2012 at the Horeshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. The event will feature the Season Seven finals in the Heavyweight and Lightweight divisions, pitting Alexander Volkov vs. Richard Hale and Marcin Held vs. Dave Jansen respectively.
Vegh rolled through the Summer Series tournament with wins over Zelg Galesic at Bellator 71, Emanuel Newton at Bellator 72, and against Travis Wiuff at Bellator 73. The win over Wiuff was Vegh’s eight straight win, making hims 8-1-1 in his last ten bouts.
M’Pumbu hasn’t fought since October 2011 when he fought Wiuff in a non-title bout as part of Bellator 55. ‘Tonton’ would lose by decision becoming the first Bellator champ to lose a non-title match. The French fighter won the inaugural light heavyweight title in May 2011 by stopping Hale by TKO at Bellator 45.

Former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal (8-1, 1NC) is set to debut inside the Bellator cage next month when he enters the promotions Season Eight light heavyweight tournament.
Lawal will debut on Spike TV on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the UCI Bren Events Center in Irvine, California against an unnamed opponent.
The news was announced by MMAFighting.com who learned of the date from sources close to the event.
Lawal signed with Bellator, as well as the pro-wrestling promotion TNA, earlier this year following his release from the Strikeforce promotion after posting negative comments on Twitter towards one of the commissioners on review board for the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The NSAC suspended ‘King Mo’s’ license for nine-months following a positive steroid test this past January.
Lawal tested positive for drostanolone, an anabolic steroid, following a knockout victory over Lorenz Larkin at the Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine show in Las Vegas. The win was overturned by the NSAC to a “No Contest” following the failed drug test.
