Mike Perry claims Luke Rockhold's teeth went into his fist at BKFC 41

Prior to BKFC 41, some promising bouts came together and during its main event, Mike Perry certainly brought the violence.

The 185 pound main event lasted just two rounds in Broomfield, Colorado, as Perry extended his undefeated run with BKFC, finishing Luke Rockhold by TKO.

Mike Perry moved to 3-0 under the BKFC banner with his win over Luke Rockhold

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Perry analyzed his brutal display and claims he knew the exact moment Rockhold’s teeth shattered.

“I felt that in my fist, his teeth went into it, for sure,” Mike Perry said. “I was just like, whatever that was, I can’t wait to land that again and feel that again. I wanna feel that in my knuckles again.”

Perry has always been a fan favourite among the MMA community for his amusing choice of words and lack of care in serious situations.

Meanwhile Rockhold, who was once the UFC middleweight champion, has been going through a rough patch. He suffered defeat in his final three appearances with the UFC, and came out unsuccessful in his BKFC debut.

Perry, who was hit hard early in the fight, overcame Rockhold’s heavy hit and overwhelmed the former UFC champion with a series of vicious strikes.

“I was just like, ‘Oh,’ because I wanted the win to look like right after I hit him,” Mike Perry said. “But he ate that shot. But then, he was like, ‘Damn, I don’t wanna take it again.’ It’s more than just the lip, it’s more than just the teeth shot. And yes, I caused that. I guess I hit him in the lip, which busted those teeth — that all went through.”

After experiencing the pure violence of bare knuckle fighting, Rockhold hinted that BKFC 41 would likely be his only appearance with the organization, stating that he’s happy he got to experience it, but a pair of gloves is likely what he’s pursuing next.

Perry was quick to defend his performance against those who claimed Rockhold simply gave up. ‘Platinum’ told Helwani he did more than enough to break Rockhold in quick fashion.

“He’s got like two black eyes,” Mike Perry said. “He’s got a lump on his face. So I hit him with more shots, but it’s like I was hitting him so fast, it was hard for people to see where the shot happened, when it happened, why he quit.”

Rockhold may be departing BKFC for good, but Perry will likely continue to put on a show for his fans and look to extend his three-fight win streak.

Mike Perry backed to beat Conor McGregor in potential future BKFC fight: ‘It’d be an absolute banger’

Mike Perry earned his third-straight win inside the squared circle on Saturday night, besting former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the BKFC 41 main event. However, what came after the bout is all anyone could talk about on social media.

Following his second-round TKO win over Rockhold, Mike Perry was greeted inside the squared circle by a BKFC title-toting Conor McGregor. The two men engaged in a standoff with ‘Platinum’ showing the former two-division UFC champion a great amount of respect. It was an intriguing moment for combat sports fans watching. Despite still being signed with the UFC, speculation immediately ran rampant as to whether the Irishman would trade in his four-ounce gloves for a set of hand wraps.

Mike Perry backed to give Conor McGregor all he can handle in BKFC bout

We certainly wouldn’t put money on it, but there’s no harm in speculating. Former one-time UFC title challenger Dan Hardy did exactly that during his appearance on Submission Radio with Kacper Rosolowski and Denis Skuratov. Sharing his thoughts on a potential bare-knuckle brawl between Mike Perry and Conor McGregor, ‘The Outlaw’ said:

“The thing with Mike Perry is that he doesn’t mind taking damage,” Hardy said. “He doesn’t mind walking through fire and although Conor, he’s willing to do the same thing to a point. He does get slowed down and backed up. Mike Perry is a bit bigger. A bit more heavily muscled. I just think he’d be kind of able to get to Conor eventually by taking enough damage and wearing it well enough to be able to slow Conor down and get to him.

“It’d be an absolute banger of a fight though and you know, this is where you’d really see Conor’s boxing skills, his striking skills on full display. With no gloves on at all, it’s a game of millimeters as opposed to inches,” Hardy continued. “Conor’s always had good defense, but Mike Perry would most likely get to him and how would he deal with that kind of pressure and damage.”

Dan Hardy Casts Doubt on Conor McGregor Returning to the Octagon for Fight with Michael Chandler

When he’s not busy pounding Proper No. 12 and squaring off with fighters in a rival promotion’s ring, Conor McGregor is busy training for his highly anticipated return to the Octagon. At least, he should be. Fans will first see ‘The Notorious’ compete opposite Michael Chandler on the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter before he is expected to make his return to the Octagon this fall.

Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen. Fans and fighters alike have grown increasingly skeptical as McGregor is yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool for a required six months of screening. Addressing the likelihood of seeing the Irishman return after the summer, Dan Hardy said:

“I don’t know. I feel like there’s a bigger game being played because there’s still gotta be six months of USADA right? I feel like there’s an internal battle going on,” Hardy said. “Conor’s kind of flexing his brand within the combat sports world and basically kind of irritating the UFC enough for him to be able to push them around a little bit and get his way.

“He has such weight in the sport, in combat sports, and in the general mainstream interest of people that he’s able to get away with things. If anybody else had done that, they’d have been in so much trouble, but Conor will most likely turn it into a negotiating tool so we’ll see what happens, but I don’t see him fighting in the next four months against Michael Chandler unless we see his name pop up on the USADA website and I bet someone will spot that. I bet people are checking that every day for Conor McGregor’s name.”

Former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold appears keen on continuing his combat sports career despite last night’s damaging BKFC 41 main event loss to MIke Perry, heaping praise on his fellow Octagon alum for his performance.

Snapping an August retirement from combat sports last night in Broomfield, Colorado, former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight titleholder, Rockhold had been sidelined from active competition since suffering a unanimous decision loss to former middleweight title challenger, Paulo Costa last summer.

Making his debut under the David Feldman-led BKFC banner last night, Rockhold suffered an eventual second round TKO loss to former welterweight challenger, Perry, seeing multiple teeth cracked in the process as part of a grisly stoppage loss

Luke Rockhold distances himself from another combat sport hiatus

Sharing his thoughts on the stoppage defeat against Flint native, Perry, Rockhold failed to shut the door on a return to combat sports off the back of his most recent setback, however, appeared to distance himself from an outing in bare knuckle fighting in the future.

“Well, f*ck, what can I say?” Luke Rockhold said. “You can check bare knuckle off the list. It’s some crazy sh*t. Those little knuckle got me, square on the front two [teeth]. Maybe a beard, maybe a better mouthpiece. It’s a good fight. It’s a shame it had to end that way. Motherf*cker, Mike (Perry), you tough bastard.”

“Thanks to my sponsors, thanks to the people,” Luke Rockhold explained. “I’m not done. Some gloves would be nice, though.”

Conor McGregor faces off with Mike Perry at BKFC 41 teases move I'd be into this UFC

In rather surprising fashion last night after BKFC 41, event headliner, Mike Perry was joined inside the ring by former duel-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor – with the duo facing off in an impromptu meeting.

Perry, who headlined BKFC 41 against former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, managed to move to 3-0 since his transition to the David Feldman-led organization, landing a second round TKO victory after Rockhold suffered multiple cracked teeth during their main event clash.

Prior to last night’s triumph, Perry had landed a unanimous decision win over The Ultimate Fighter alum, Julian Lane in his BKFC debut, before taking a judging win over former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger Michael Page in a London headliner last year.

Continuing his impressive run under the promotion’s banner, Perry had spotted Dublin striker, Conor McGregor sitting ringside, before calling for an impromptu face-off.

Making his way to the ring, donning a BKFC championship belt to boot, McGregor embraced Perry before the duo conversed during a face-off – with the former teasing a potential transition to bare knuckle fighting in the future.

Sidelined from active competition since July 2021, McGregor most recently headlined UFC 264 against former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, suffering a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss after he fractured his left tibia and fibula.

In January of that year, the 34-year-old dropped his first knockout loss in professional mixed martial arts in a lightweight rematch with Poirier in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Expected to make his Octagon return before the end of this year, McGregor has been earmarked to fight lightweight contender and one-time title challenger, Michael Chandler before the close of this annum in a return to the welterweight limit for the Crumlin native.

As for former welterweight contender, Perry, the Michigan striker had landed two prior decision victories over Julian Lane, and former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page since his transition to BKFC.

Headlining in Broomfield, Colorado last night as part of a blockbuster BKFC 41 card for the growing organization, Perry recorded his first stoppage triumph since his transition to bare knuckle fighting, forcing a second round TKO win over Rockhold.

Appearing to be dealing with an issue with his jaw – which had fractured against former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz, back in 2019, Rockhold then detailed a nasty laceration on his lower lip, as well as multiple cracked front teeth – leading to a stoppage.

“Luke Rockhold, some of his teeth got cracked,” David Feldman said following BKFC 41. “So, that’s why he wasn’t able to continue. His teeth definitely got messed up pretty good.”

In the night’s co-headliner, former UFC featherweight champion, Chad Mendes – who had recently made his BKFC debut, suffered a split decision loss against former UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez – before retiring from combat sports in the immediate aftermath of the defeat.

And furthermore, following his stoppage success against Rockhold, Perry was joined inside the ring by former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor, who was seated ringside during the event.

Luke Rockhold

On Saturday night, former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, made his first appearance for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Stepping inside the squared circle, Rockhold squared off with former UFC standout ‘Platinum’ Mikey Perry in the BKFC 41 headliner.

Mike Perry jumped off the scratch line and immediately put pressure on Rockhold in the first round. Near the end of the round, Rockhold landed a big left hand that rocked Perry. ‘Platinum’ responded with a big left hand of his own that had Rockhold hurt. Backpedaling quickly, Rockhold used his reach advantage to land another solid left as Perry pursued.

Perry came out for the second bringing pressure once again. ‘Platinum’ began targeting the body of Rockhold and landed a big right hand on Rockhold in the process. In an odd turn of events, Rockhold removed his mouthpiece mid-fight and made it clear to referee Dan Miragliotta that he did not want to continue. The bout was waved off as a result.
