Off the back of their impromptu and surprise confrontation at a BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) event earlier this month, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, Conor McGregor has opened as a betting favorite to defeat welterweight veteran, Mike Perry in a potential future fight between the two.

McGregor, a former undisputed duel-weight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined since he headlined UFC 264 back in July 2021, fracturing his left tibia and fibula in an eventual doctor’s stoppage TKO loss against former interim gold holder, Dustin Poirier.

As for Perry, the outspoken Michigan native has so-far enjoyed a stellar three-fight winning spree since transition to BKFC back in February of last year.

Debuting against The Ultimate Fighter alum, Julian Lane at BKFC: KnuckleMania 2, Perry landed a unanimous decision victory, before headlining a London event in August of that year.

Returning in a successful outing against former Bellator MMA welterweight championship challenger, Michael Page, Perry landed a majority decision win over the hometown fighter in an overtime round.

And earlier this month, the former UFC welterweight landed a second round TKO win over former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold in Broomfield, Colorado – where soon thereafter, he was confronted by McGregor inside the BFKC ring.

Offering odds on a potential future fight between McGregor and Perry, initial markets have seen the Crumlin native open as a -150 betting favorite to defeat the former, who opens as a +150 betting underdog.

Betting on a potential fight between Perry and McGregor is available on numerous sites and markets worldwide, including over at https://hong-kong-bettingoffersfinder.com

WIthout a professional victory since January 2020, McGregor’s most recent win came in the form of a 40-second TKO win over former lightweight title challenger, Donald Cerrone, securing a welterweight victory in a main event clash.

Departing the UFC back in 2021, Perry’s most recent outing in the Octagon came in April of that year, dropping a unanimous decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez – which followed a judging loss to Tim Means.

During the course of his stint under the banner of the Dana White-led organization, Perry has landed triumphs over the likes of Danny Roberts, Jake Ellenberger, Paul Felder, Alex Oliveira, and Mickey Gall to name a few.

Addressing a potential future fight with McGregor in the future – particularly after the latter confirmed that he would interested in a bout, Perry claimed that the Dubliner was refraining from punching him during their confrontation at BKFC 41 earlier this month.

We were in the ring,” Mike Perry said. “He was ready to punch me right then, but it was my moment that night, and I got the last word, because when Conor left the ring, yeah, he had the belt, but I got my belt. It’s platinum over gold, baby, and when he left the ring, they put the mic back in my face. So, it was my night to shine. I got the last word.”

Conor McGregor is open to a potential bare-knuckle brawl with BKFC darling ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

The Irishman made headlines after making an appearance at the 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado for BKFC 41. Taking in the action with a bottle of Proper No. 12, McGregor appeared to enjoy what Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship put on display. So much so that McGregor threw a BKFC title belt over his shoulder and stepped into the squared circle for a showdown with UFC fighter turned bare-knuckle brawler Mike Perry.

Fans of both sports immediately began speculating about a potential crossover clash between the two outspoken icons. During a brief encounter with InsideFighting, Conor McGregor was asked whether or not he was open to a scrap with ‘Platinum’ after their viral face off.

“Why not? I’ve got a couple of fights… I’ve got the [Michael] Chandler fight so that’s what I’m focused on,” McGregor responded.

How exactly that fight comes about is anyone’s guess.

Mike Perry Becomes a Free Agent While Conor McGregor Focuses on Octagon Return

Mike Perry earned his third-straight win under the BKFC banner, taking out former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the BKFC 41 main event. ‘Platinum’ has since revealed that he is officially a free agent, but one would expect Perry to resign with the promotion. It is possible that the UFC could attempt to reacquire Perry’s services given his new-found popularity. That would be the likeliest path to a showdown with Conor McGregor.

As for the Irishman, his focus will be on a return to the win column when he squares off with high-octane lightweight ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler. The two men will first compete as coaches on the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, scheduled to begin airing on May 29. Once the season concludes, McGregor and Chandler are expected to strap on their four-ounce gloves for a can’t-miss matchup.

Dana White reacts to Conor McGregor’s viral face off with BKFC brawler Mike Perry: ‘It’s all good’

UFC President Dana White revealed his thoughts on Conor McGregor’s viral face off with BKFC brawler Mike Perry.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship hit big last Saturday night, delivering a highly entertaining event packed with some pretty big names, including multi-time world champions Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold. However, it was a surprise guest that got most of the attention. Conor McGregor may his way into the 1stBank Center for the last three bouts of the evening, sending fans in the ‘Mile High City’ into a frenzy.

Taking in all the action with a bottle of Proper No. 12 by his side, Conor McGregor was animated as ever as he watched his former co-workers shining bright inside the squared circle. Following Mike Perry’s second-round TKO in the evening’s headliner, ‘Platinum’ called for McGregor to step inside the ring with him. The Irishman obliged, stepping into the structure with a BKFC world title belt draped over his shoulder.

The face off immediately went viral with fans speculating about a potential crossover bout between the two heavy hitters.

Appearing My Mom’s Basement, Dana White spoke with host Robbie Fox to promote the promotion’s upcoming return to New Jersey on Saturday night for UFC 288. It wasn’t long before the conversation turned to Conor McGregor and his role at BKFC 41. Asked for his thoughts on the Irishman’s antics, White said:

“I think that Conor went out and was having fun and got caught up in the moment,” White said. “The [Mike Perry] called him into the ring and he did it. I also saw him pounding a bottle of Proper No. 12. I’m sure that probably had something to do with it too, but listen man. At the end of the day, Conor has done a lot here. He’s made a lot of money. The guy’s out having fun and it’s all good.”

Dana White Addressed Status of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler

Dana White also touched on Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated return to the Octagon. Fans will see ‘The Notorious’ compete opposite ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler on the upcoming season of the promotion’s long-running reality series, The Ultimate Fighter. Scheduled to begin airing on May 29, McGregor is expected to square off with Chandler once the season is in the bag, but with McGregor still sitting outside of the USADA testing pool, fans are growing increasingly skeptical.

“I actually saw a picture of Conor today where he actually looked leaner, like he’s starting to cut the weight down and we’ll see,” White said. “I mean, this guy’s going through a ton of sh*t with his body after breaking his shin bone. Believe me, as soon as soon as we can get it done, we’ll get it done.”

Conor McGregor’s last appearance inside the Octagon came at UFC 264 in July 2021. The Notorious’ infamously broke his leg in the first round of a trilogy bout with division rival Dustin Poirier, resulting in a TKO loss. McGregor’s last win came against UFC Hall of Fame inductee Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in 2020. Prior to that, his last victory was a UFC lightweight title win against then-champion Eddie Alvarez.

Cris Cyborg is ready to knuckle up.

Having captured titles in Strikeforce, Invicta, the UFC, and Bellator, Cris Cyborg is one of the most decorated fighters in the history of the sport, regardless of gender. In recent months, she has even dipped her toe into the world of professional boxing, earning back-to-back wins in the sweet science. Now, Cyborg is looking for a new challenge. Enter Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Coming off an incredibly successful event at the 1stBank Center in Denver, BKFC is riding high and on the minds of many of combat sports’ biggest names, including former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. The Irishman famously stepped inside the squared circle following the BKFC 41 main event last weekend, facing off with the promotion’s top star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

Intrigued by what she has seen from the promotion online, Cris Cyborg is more than willing to trade in her gloves for a set of hand wraps.

“I’ve seen some of their stuff online – maybe, you know,” Cyborg said in an interview with James Lynch. “Why not? Finish my career doing everything, finish it right!”

Cris Cyborg Believes She Can Learn a Thing or Two From BKFC Brawler Mike Perry

If she can come to terms with the BKFC on a potential appearance, Cris Cyborg would love to train alongside UFC fighter-turned-BKFC brawler, Mike Perry.

“I think it would be fun [bare-knuckle boxing],” Cyborg continued. “People know I like to finish my fights by punches. I know it’s different, a little bit. Maybe if I did boxing, did Muay Thai. I love the challenge, I love training, maybe I could train with Mike Perry and learn a couple things. I don’t know, it’s different, but for sure” (h/t BJPenn.com).

Perry earned his third-straight win under the BKFC banner on Saturday night, scoring a second-round TKO against former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. Prior to the win, ‘Platinum’ landed victories over Julian ‘Let Me Bang, Bro’ Lane, and Bellator MMA’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page. The event also featured the promotional debut of former Bellator and UFC champion Eddie Alvarez who earned a split-decision win over Chad Mendes in the co-main event.

Mike Perry claims Luke Rockhold's teeth went into his fist at BKFC 41

Prior to BKFC 41, some promising bouts came together and during its main event, Mike Perry certainly brought the violence.

The 185 pound main event lasted just two rounds in Broomfield, Colorado, as Perry extended his undefeated run with BKFC, finishing Luke Rockhold by TKO.

Mike Perry moved to 3-0 under the BKFC banner with his win over Luke Rockhold

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Perry analyzed his brutal display and claims he knew the exact moment Rockhold’s teeth shattered.

“I felt that in my fist, his teeth went into it, for sure,” Mike Perry said. “I was just like, whatever that was, I can’t wait to land that again and feel that again. I wanna feel that in my knuckles again.”

Perry has always been a fan favourite among the MMA community for his amusing choice of words and lack of care in serious situations.

Meanwhile Rockhold, who was once the UFC middleweight champion, has been going through a rough patch. He suffered defeat in his final three appearances with the UFC, and came out unsuccessful in his BKFC debut.

Perry, who was hit hard early in the fight, overcame Rockhold’s heavy hit and overwhelmed the former UFC champion with a series of vicious strikes.

“I was just like, ‘Oh,’ because I wanted the win to look like right after I hit him,” Mike Perry said. “But he ate that shot. But then, he was like, ‘Damn, I don’t wanna take it again.’ It’s more than just the lip, it’s more than just the teeth shot. And yes, I caused that. I guess I hit him in the lip, which busted those teeth — that all went through.”

After experiencing the pure violence of bare knuckle fighting, Rockhold hinted that BKFC 41 would likely be his only appearance with the organization, stating that he’s happy he got to experience it, but a pair of gloves is likely what he’s pursuing next.

Perry was quick to defend his performance against those who claimed Rockhold simply gave up. ‘Platinum’ told Helwani he did more than enough to break Rockhold in quick fashion.

“He’s got like two black eyes,” Mike Perry said. “He’s got a lump on his face. So I hit him with more shots, but it’s like I was hitting him so fast, it was hard for people to see where the shot happened, when it happened, why he quit.”

Rockhold may be departing BKFC for good, but Perry will likely continue to put on a show for his fans and look to extend his three-fight win streak.
