Deontay Wilder Reveals Bold Pick for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: "Suffer the consequences."

Deontay Wilder thinks the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation made a big mistake by sanctioning Mike Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul as a professional bout.

On Friday, November 15, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ will return to the ring for the first time in nearly two decades when he takes on ‘The Problem Child’ inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. From the moment their fight was announced, pundits have slammed the pairing, many of them taking exception to the ridiculous 31-year age gap between Tyson and the YouTube star.

Deontay Wilder Fears for Mike Tyson’s well-being in Jake Paul fight

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder recently voiced his disgust for the TLDR’s decision to license Tyson, believing that it could put the 58-year-old icon in serious harm.

“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years, so they should not just license him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt, god forbid he gets hurt,” Wilder told talkSPORT. “People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time, there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. It’s easy to do. He’s too old for this.

“At the end of the day, no one gives a f*ck about Mike. We can talk about the pros and cons, but at the end of the day, they don’t give a f*ck. I don’t think anyone cares about Mike because if they did they wouldn’t sanction the fight.

“They may say they’ve done tests and all that, ok, but as long as you’re willing to suffer the consequences if something bad goes wrong. His power may not have left completely but you still need to set it up, your stamina needs to be a certain way, or it’s going to look like a clown show.”

Paul vs. Tyson has already been postponed once after ‘Iron’ suffered a medical emergency during a cross-country flight in May. The incident was ultimately chalked to an ulcer flare-up, but it was enough to push the fight out of its originally scheduled July 20 date.

Elle Brooke’s “dream job” involves a bottle of KY and a man with a sense of adventure.

Okay, that’s not true, but we had you going for a minute.

On September 14, the part-time boxer and full-time influencer will return to the ring set to defend her Misfits Boxing middleweight championship against BKFC brawler Jenny Savage at the MF & DAZN X Series 18 card in Newcastle, England.

Elle Brooke

Ahead of their anticipated headliner, Brooke revealed during an interview with The Sun that she had once received a rather odd request from one her many of OnlyFans subscribers.

“I actually have people ask me to like punch them for so much money. And I’m like, ‘Do you know what? I’m in the wrong job, that sounds like way easier money than me getting punched. I can just beat up men. I’d love to do that. I actually looked into it and it’s also against the law. You can’t consent to, like, assault and battery, so I can’t, unfortunately. I would love to, that’s my dream job” (h/t Sportskeeda).

Elle Brooke Faces a Bare-Knuckle Savage in her next outing

Saturday’s scrap in the UK will be Brooke’s seventh career boxing match. Thus far, she is 4-1-1 with her most impressive performance coming against Andrea-Jane Bunker in January to win the MF middleweight strap. Brooke returned to the ring in May set to defend her title for the first time against former UFC and BKFC star Paige VanZant. After five hard-fought rounds, the bout was declared a split draw.

Both women were more than willing to run it back, but Brooke will have to deal with Jenny Savage first.

After amassing a 3-4 record in mixed martial arts, Savage made the move to bare-knuckle in 2020 and found moderate success under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship banner, going 3-3 with KOs against Sheena Brandenburg and Nekah Dmitriyeva.

Her losses came against BKFC darlings Britain Hart and Taylor Starling. Saturday’s clash with Brooke will be her first traditional boxing match.

Mike Tyson Slams 'Afraid' Canelo Alvarez: "Shame for boxing and for Mexico."

Canelo Alvarez may have loads of talent, but legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson doesn’t think he has much of a heart.

Bursting onto the boxing scene in the mid-80s, Tyson was one of the most fearsome heavyweights in the sport’s history, dispatching his first 19 opponents via knockout with none of them making it farther than the sixth round. Tyson was a fighter who prided himself on facing the next man up, no matter how big of a threat they posed.

Mike Tyson

In recent years, boxing has become more of a business than a sport with some of the biggest stars frequently holding out to try and secure a bigger bag and/or preserve their precious record rather than giving fans the fights they want to see.

As is the case with multi-weight world champion Canelo Alvarez who has routinely turned down a scrap with David Benavidez, the biggest threat to his status as the reigning WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight champion, despite being offered a whopping $60 million to step in the ring with him.

“I can’t believe what I just heard,” Tyson told Marca in response to Alvarez turning down the fight with Benavidez. “What’s wrong with Canelo? Is he afraid of losing? Doesn’t he want to give the fans the fight they want to see? Don’t you want to give the fans the fight they want to see? Do you not respect the legacy of the great Mexican champions who faced the best regardless of the money?

This is a shame for boxing and for Mexico. If I were him, I would accept the fight with Benavidez and show the world that he is the best. But it seems he doesn’t have the courage to do it; It is a shame because he has a lot of talent but he lacks heart” (h/t Seconds Out).

Elle Brooke Offers Bold Predication in Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Elle Brooke believes Jake Paul is in a lose-lose situation.

After making a name for himself by boxing a slew of past-their-prime MMA stars, ‘The Problem Child’ will return to the ring for a clash with one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The bout is scheduled to emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday, November 15, and is slated to be one of the most-watched combat sports events of all time.

Jake Paul Mike Tyson 1024x576 2

Much of the commentary surrounding their scrap has been about the massive 31-year age gap between the two combatants and how that will play into the outcome. Some, like Joe Rogan and Francis Ngannou, believe Tyson’s legendary power could still win the day while others think that Paul’s youth will be more than enough to close the experience gap and get the job done.

Brooke, the reigning Misfits Boxing middleweight champion, subscribes to the latter, believing that Paul’s speed will be the difference-maker in The Lone Star State.

“By being the younger, fitter person that’s how he gets it done,” Brooke told Daily Star. Poor, poor Mike Tyson has already had to pull out once. I just think Jake is younger, fitter and stronger, especially in the heavyweight division.

“It’s not necessarily about skill but when you have speed because of youth, I think that will come into play. Do I think he’s going to knock him out? Realistically, I’m not sure. I hope he does to make a statement because a lot of people are going to be doubting him. But then he’s going to get a lot of stick… ‘You knocked out a 60-year-old, what does that prove?’. So Jake cannot win.”

Elle Brooke returns to the ring on sept. 14

Before Paul and Tyson go toe-to-toe, Elle Brook will return to the influencer boxing scene set to defend her gold against bare-knuckle brawler Jenny Savage. Their clash will headline the Misfits & DAZN X Series 18 card on September 14 at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, England.

Elle Brooke

Brooke is coming off a split draw against former UFC star Paige VanZant in May. Before that, she plowed her way through Andrea-Jane Bunker, earning a third-round TKO to claim the Misfits middleweight crown. Thus far, the Portsmouth native is 4-1-1 in her boxing career.

Savage has spent the last four years competing under the BKFC banner, going 3-3 with wins over Sheena Brandenburg, Delaney Bailey, and Nekah Dmitriyeva.

Freddie Roach says Jake Paul is just 'Okay' Ahead of Mike Tyson Fight: "You know, a club fighter"

Jake Paul will have youth on his side when he steps inside the ring with legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson this November. According to iconic boxing trainer Freddie Roach, that’s about all he’ll have working in his favor.

When Paul goes toe-to-toe with the former unified heavyweight world champion in Arlington, Texas, there will be a 31-year age gap between the two generational stars. That factoid has sparked a lot of debate over whether or not the fight should be happening with many believing that Tyson is taking an unnecessary risk against the 28-year-old ‘Problem Child’ from Cleveland.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Roach, who trained Tyson during the twilight of his professional boxing career, recently recalled what it was like taking punches from the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ during an interview with DAZN.

“Mike’s a great guy and I did train him for a couple of fights before the end of his career, but his heart wasn’t really in it at that time. If he didn’t knock you out in a couple of rounds he’d get a torn meniscus in his knee or an injury somewhere here or there.

“But the thing is Mike is a great puncher, he trains very hard. Being with Mike for two fights it was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it. Catching him on the mitts was very difficult and a lot of fun. Getting whacked by Mike Tyson with the right hook isn’t my favorite spot but I lived through it!” (h/t Seconds Out)

Roach has been unimpressed with what he’s seen out of Jake Paul

Roach has also seen Jake Paul putting in work at the gym and offered his honest opinion of the YouTube star’s skills.

“The kid’s okay,” Roach told FightHype. “You know, a club fighter, I don’t know. I’ve never really met him. He was in my gym and they wanted to work, use the ring. Okay, go ahead.”

Paul is 10-1 in his professional boxing career thus far, though very few of those bouts have come against legitimate boxers. The Problem Child’ has primarily made a name for himself competing against past-their-prime MMA stars like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz.

The few fights he has won against actual boxers came against a pair of no-name talents who had not been active in the sport for years. Meanwhile, his lone loss came against Tommy Fury, a fighter who is more of a reality TV star than a fighter these days. Paul lost the February 2023 bout via split decision.
