Deontay Wilder reacts in a great way once he was able to knock down Tyson Fury with some brutal shots but only to see his opponent get right back up. This fight took place on December 1, 2018, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and aired on PPV.

Boxing was back at it again as it was able to end this fight in intriguing fashion. The fight with the WBC heavyweight title up for grabs ended in a split decision draw. The scorecard saw 115–111 for Wilder while 114–112 for Fury.

The decision was highly controversial as the majority of people thought that Fury got it done with 115-111 on the scorecards. Near the end of the fight was epic as Wilder knocked down Fury in the ninth round then dropped him again with a right-left combo that completely flattened Fury in the last round. Now, it appears that a rematch is going to happen.

At first, it looked like a knockout finish with fans in amazement to what they just saw. However, once referee Jack Reese started a 10 count, somehow Fury managed to get back to his feet. He did it like it was a no big deal situation.

As a result, it caught Wilder in amazement as well and cameras were able to capture this great moment.

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury met in a classic heavyweight title bout (watch highlights here) last night (Sat., December 1, 2018) from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Wilder vs. Fury was an amazing fight, yet it ended with an anticlimactic result.

The awaited match-up delivered on the sizable hype. Fury controlled much of the bout with his effective jab and ring control. At some points, he appeared to have frustrated Wilder as he swung wildly and missed. But the champ was not without his moments. He dropped Fury twice, including with a brutal two-punch combination in the final round that nearly had Fury out.

In the end, the close bout was declared a split-decision draw with scores of 115-111 for Wilder, 114-110 for Fury, and finally a 113-113 draw. The result was somewhat controversial due to the belief that Fury had won enough rounds to win.

Fireworks are on the docket when Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) puts his gold on the line against Fury (27-0, 19 KOs). The outspoken-yet-troubled star is looking to resume his throne as the best heavyweight. To do so, he’ll have to topple the surging Wilder. Fury has won two straight fights since taking all of 2016 and 2017 off due to severe mental health issues. Wilder, meanwhile, will be looking to extend his streak of title defenses to eight.

Both fighters have talked a vast amount of trash heading into tonight’s pay-per-view (PPV) main event. Based on their thunderous knockout percentage, this massive title fight is expected to end before the final bell.

Tonight (Sat., December 1, 2018) Deontay Wilder meets Tyson Fury in one of the heavyweight division’s best match-ups of the year from Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The explosive personalities of both fighters were at their heights during yesterday’s iconic weigh-ins. They should be, as some incredibly high stakes are on the line. The undefeated star Wilder brings a glaring 40-0 record into the fight including 39 KOs. He’s defended the WBC heavyweight title seven times as a result of that power. Wilder isn’t at the top of the pay-per-view world, just yet. But he’s coming off a huge come-from-behind knockout of Luis Ortiz in SHOWTIME’s most-watched fight of 2018.

“The Gypsy King,” meanwhile, is the enigmatic, outspoken presence looking to reassume his throne. He became the lineal champion by defeating Wladimir Klitschko in late 2015. Fury then gained over 100 pounds battling depression and substance abuse issues. He’s fought hard to return from those issues. Fury picked up two wins in 2018. Some still wonder if it is too soon for him to take on Wilder, however.

It’s happening regardless. The fight is also both men’s debut on U.S. pay-per-view. That means it marks an interesting chance to see if either fighter can begin drawing an audience on pay television in the States. It also could decide the next contender to Anthony Joshua’s three titles next year. That paired with Wilder and Fury’s ferocious collective knockout power gives this bout all the makings of an exciting one. Here’s all you need to know to watch the card (info via Bloody Elbow).
