Jarrell Miller addresses the reason behind his decision to push Anthony Joshua during their first press conference in order to promote their fight.

They will meet inside of the ring on June 1st, 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. This is expected to be one of the biggest fights in the history of taking place at the world’s most famous arena. Joshu’s WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles will be on the line.

They met in New York on Tuesday at their first public press conference together. Once they got on stage for photos, Miller pushed the heavyweight champion.

While speaking to iFL TV, Miller revealed that the reason he did this was due to Joshua smelling bad.

“He was smiling, Miller stated (H/T to Give Me Sport). “There ain’t nothing to f***ing smile about. I don’t know what he think was going to happen. I remember the first time at the press conference he wanted to have a conversation with me, sit down and talk. I ain’t got nothing to f***ing talk about. I got nothing to talk about. You want to talk to me, come punch me in my face. That’s how we talk. I respect war.”

Joshua enters this fight with a pro-boxing record of 22-0 with his latest win coming over Alexander Povetkin back in September by TKO in the seventh round in  London, England at Wembley Stadium.

On the flip side, Miller comes in with a record of 23-0-1 and fresh off a KO victory over Bogdan Dinu at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.

Today’s (Tues., February 29, 2019) inaugural press conference between Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller was mostly derided by fans.

The event featured audio problems that added more disappointment to the fact Joshua won’t be fighting Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury. But Miller did his part to inject some semblance of excitement into the otherwise blasé rivalry during their first staredown.

Once they were face to face, Miller shoved Joshua rather hard. We’ll see if that gets the fire raging for their fight on June 1 from Madison Square Garden. Watch the shove right here:

It’s not exactly Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, but Great Britain’s greatest heavyweight has his next fight set. Joshua vs. Jarrell Miller is set to go down on June 1, 2019, from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Although Joshua could have knocked his next fight out of the park, that doesn’t appear to be in the cards. All three of Joshua, Wilder, and Fury now appear thrust into negotiations purgatory after Fury signed an exclusive deal with ESPN to air his fights in the US yesterday. Still, Joshua will at least face an undefeated opponent in his next bout.

So it’s on Miller to inject some hype into this feud. The 23-0-1 “Big Baby” has been known to talk a bit of trash, so we’ll see if he’s able to do just that at today’s pre-fight press conference. Watch it streaming live at 1:30 p.m. EST here:
