UFC middleweight title challenger Sean Strickland threatened to kill celebrity bodybuilder Bradley Martyn after the YouTuber suggested he could handle himself in a street fight with multiple mixed martial artists, including reigning ONE world champion Demetrious Johnson.

Martyn, a fitness guru who loves telling people that he weighs upwards of 260 pounds, has caught the attention of the MMA community after repeatedly challenging professional fighters to a street fight. In recent months, Martyn has targeted Nate Diaz, Demetrious Johnson, Sean O’Malley, and even former UFC middleweight titleholder Alex Pereira. And while most of the fighters have patronized Martyn or ignored his comments altogether, Sean Strickland has no intention of playing along with Martyn’s gimmick.

Ahead of his return to the Octagon at UFC 293 on Saturday night, Sean Strickland delivered an expletive-filled threat to Martyn, letting the loudmouth bodybuilder know that should the two ever find themselves in a tussle, ‘Tarzan’ won’t hesitate to put his lights out permanently.

“Who the f*ck is Bradley Martyn?” Strickland asked in an interview with Nina Drama. “I don’t know this Bradley Martyn, but if you’re here right now and I can get away with it… I would take your f*cking life. I would kill you. I would put my gun down and would f*cking take your f*cking life.

“Nina gave me a little backstory… that you challenge people. Motherf*cker, I’m in Vegas, you show the f*ck up, you little b*tch. Sign a waiver and we will see how many bones we can break in your f*cking face. If he was right here and he was like, ‘Sean, I think I can beat you in a street fight,’ I would get up. I would put my gun down, and I’d backhand him like the little b*tch he is” (h/t Mirror).

Bradley Martyn seemingly responded to Sean Strickland’s comments on X (formerly Twitter), reminding the 185-pounder that he outweighs him by a significant amount.

I’m 260 tho,” Martyn wrote.

It’s a pretty standard response from Martyn who believes that his sheer size will compensate for a complete lack of combat sports skills. Perhaps he’ll have the opportunity to put that theory to the test as pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson, a flyweight fighter who typically walks around at 150 pounds, has accepted Martyn’s challenge.

As for Sean Strickland, the outspoken middleweight contender is busy gearing up for the biggest fight of his life on September 9.

Emanating from the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Strickland will step inside the Octagon for a main event clash with reigning 185-pound titleholder Israel Adesanya. It will be Strickland’s first opportunity to compete for UFC gold after amassing an impressive 14-5 record inside the Octagon, including back-to-back wins against Nassourdine Imavov and Abus Magomedov in his last two outings.

Pound-for-pound great Demetrious Johnson offered an update on his proposed scrap with fitness guru Bradley Martyn.

In recent months, the popular podcaster and bodybuilder has made a name for himself in the mixed martial arts community by suggesting that he could handle himself in a street fight with some of the sports’ biggest stars, including Nate Diaz, Alex Pereira, Sean O’Malley, and ONE flyweight world champion, Demetrious Johnson.

While most fighters were quick to disregard Martyn’s comments, ‘Mighty Mouse’ was more than willing to call his bluff, suggesting the pair could settle things in a grappling match.

Since then, things have quieted down a bit, but during a recent interview with The Schmo, Demetrious Johnson provided fans with an update on their potential clash.

“I don’t know. Last time I heard he’s trying to fight Aljo and Merab so I have no idea what’s going on with that,” Johnson said. “I think Bradley Martin, one of his schtick in the podcast world is, ‘Hey, do you think I could beat you in a street fight? Yes or now, blah, blah, blah.’ I think he had an offer to fight Mac Perry for some good money so I have no idea.”

Currently, Demetrious Johnson is competing at the World Master IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Las Vegas. Once that is out of the way, he has a few more obligations to take care of but is more than willing to carve out time for Bradley Martyn if the muscle-bound trash-talker is willing to put his money where his mouth is.

“I was gonna go there after my vacation. My wife was like, ‘Babe, really? Are we really going to entertain this? You have jiu-jitsu worlds coming up. Let’s get that done.’ Then I have to cover for my professor. I have to go open a gym. Help Bibiano Fernandes open his gym in Canada,” Johnson continued. “Then after that, we have free time to go out there and do it. So I have prior obligations. More important obligations to attend to instead of just drop out of a plane and go grapple some gentleman that doesn’t even know if he wants to grapple.”

Demetrious Johnson Commends Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili for Refusing to Fight Each Other

Switching gears, Demetrious Johnson offered his take on the traffic jam atop the UFC bantamweight division. With Sean O’Malley now holding the gold, there is a world of options for ‘Sugar’ when it comes to his first title defense slated for December.

But in an interesting turn of events, the top-two ranked contenders, Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili, are best friends and as a result, refuse to fight one another. That did not sit well with UFC President Dana White who suggested that if Dvalishvili isn’t willing to fight his friend, maybe he should compete elsewhere.

Demetrious Johnson, on the other hand, commended both fighters for putting their friendship above money and titles.

“I’m happy about that,” Johnson admitted. “I think that friendships and bonds are a lot bigger than winning a world championship. After I spent time, maybe 30 minutes, talking to Aljamain Sterling, I could tell in his soul that friendship means more to him. Because money comes and goes. World championship, that stuff comes and goes and Aljamain Sterling had his opportunity to be a world champion. He’s got four consecutive title defenses I believe.

“Merab hasn’t had that opportunity and for Aljo to give Merab the opportunity to fight for the belt while Aljo sits back and chills, I think that’s great. There are people out there who might think that’s the wrong mindset, but for me, I applaud Aljo for doing that.”

As for who O’Malley should defend his title against first, Demetrious Johnson sees the easy marketability of a rematch between ‘Sugar’ and the only man to beat him inside the Octagon, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, but suggested that the shot should go to the man with the biggest win streak.

“I think ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley is in the perfect position to have options,” Johnson said. “I think at the end of the day, it brings fresh air into the division because, yes, he does have a loss to ‘Chito’ Vera so that’s an easy matchup, an easy storyline that they can do. Merab, he’s on a [nine] fight win streak. I think for me, I give more priority to people who are on a win streak. So I think [Merab] deserves the shot over Corey [Sandhagen] and everybody else.”

Newly minted UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley believes he has the skills to kill fitness guru Bradley Martyn in a street fight.

Martyn, a bodybuilder who stands 6’3″ tall and tips the scales at 250 pounds, has gained the attention of the MMA community by suggesting that he could handle himself in a street fight with some of the sports’ biggest stars, including Nate Diaz and Demetrious Johnson.

Recently, Martyn sat down with O’Malley and posed the question of who would win in a street fight between the pair.

“In a wide open space, I’m 100% not going to get as tired as you,” O’Malley said during an appearance on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk. “It would be very hard for you to just grab ahold of me. I’ve been defending that for the last 12 years, not letting people grab ahold of me, but no one has tried that’s as strong as you. Even if you did just grab ahold of me, there’s other issues you gotta worry about.

“Don’t let me grab your f*cking neck at all. Don’t let me take your back. Honestly, I got a couple little takedowns that I’d be able to get to your back and choke you. That’s how I would have to guess.”

Though confident in his ability to get the job done, O’Malley would prefer not to be faced with a life-or-death situation against a man that outweighs him by roughly 100 pounds. But when push comes to shove…

“I wouldn’t want to test it. I wouldn’t want to f*cking do it. It would be scary. I would be scared, but that would probably make me more dangerous. If it’s actually life or death, I feel like… I like to think that I have the skills to be able to kill you. But I also wouldn’t want to find out.

It’s safe to assume that we will never actually find out who would win between the pair, but Sean O’Malley has plenty of fights ahead of him. For his first defense of the 135-pound crown, O’Malley has targeted the only man to defeat him inside the Octagon, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera. ‘Sugar’ also has dreams of competing against one of the greatest lightweight boxers in the history of the sport, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

Influencer Bradley Martyn continues to poke the MMA community by claiming he could hold his own against Alex Pereira.

Ever since the infamous clip of him claiming that could ‘crush’ Demetrious Johnson in a grappling match, Martyn has quickly become a topic of conversation tin the MMA community. While the bodybuilder clearly has a bit of an ego, Martyn has also taken the heat in stride and has used it to rile  up fight fans.

In his latest attempt, Martyn responded to a tongue-in-cheek question on whether he could beat Alex Pereira in a street fight.

“Yeah, I don’t know man. Honestly, it depends,” Martyn said to Nina Drama. “It depends on like, the weather and other things. The wind. Yeah, for sure.” (H/T Middle Easy)

Demetrious Johnson accepts Bradley Martyn grappling match

Johnson would respond to Martyn’s claims on a couple of occasions and seemed up for the challenge. In his most recent reaction, the former UFC champion confirmed that he had made contact with a mutual party, Brendan Schaub, and wanted to make it happen when he had the time.

“It’s funny, you know. He’s 265, he’s a bodybuilder, so obviously he’s got the weight advantage. But, at the end of the day, that’s the beautiful thing about grappling, it’s not about weight, it’s about technique and we’re going to try to grapple,” said Johnson via his YouTube .

“I told Brendan Schaub that I want to make it happen. I’m busy doing other things right now, but when I get back from all my vacation I’m going to fly down to Calabasas and we’re going to roll, man. I’m going to roll him up.” (H/T Bloody Elbow)

Former UFC heavyweight, Brendan Schaub claims that Demetrious Johnson is down to fight YouTuber who claimed he could beat him in a ‘street fight’.

Podcast host and fitness YouTuber, Bradley Martyn recently grabbed the attention of the combat sports community. Several clips of his podcast have made the rounds in which he asks several fighters, including Nate Diaz, if they think they ‘could take him in a street fight.’

To his credit, Martyn is a very big man standing at least 6’2, weighs ‘260lbs’ and boasts some very impressive strength feats. This would probably be enough to fend off your average man, but of course not a professional fighter.

Like many uninitiated, Martyn has a brash confidence about him and assumes that because of his size he automatically possesses the upper hand.

During a recent podcast in which he was joined by fighter turned podcaster, Schaub, the subject was again brought up. Schaub used the example of former UFC flyweight champion and reigning flyweight champion, Johnson.

Schaub explained that Johnson, who probably walks around the 150lb mark while standing at 5’3 would still easily beat Martyn, and could hurt him very badly while doing so. Martyn arrogantly disagree with the idea.

In a follow up podcast, Schaub said he had spoken to Johsnon and that the 36-year-old was down to square of with Martyn.

I think the clip of us on twitter is over eight million views now of me saying that mighty mouse can beat you up,” said Schaub. Now little up on that, i spoke to mighty mouse yesterday because he reposted the clip.

“So I told mighty mouse, ‘good dude’” Schaub said in reference to Martyn. “He’s [Johnson] like ‘yeah no doubt, but tell him I’m down- it’s not going to go well.’

“He [Johnson] said ‘I’m going on vacation, so lets figure it out and ill come to LA – let me know’.”
