Conor McGregor presses Dana White to sign‘ Road to UFC’ star: 'Announce her signing, brother!'

Going to bat for his compatriot, former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor has urged promotional boss, Dana White to ink Roscommon veteran, Danni McCormack to a deal with the organization off the back of her impressive unanimous decision in on ‘Road to UFC’ over the course of the weekend.

McGregor, a former two-weight champion at the lightweight and featherweight limits under the banner of the organization, has been sidelined from action since he headlined UFC 264 back in 2021, fracturing his left tibia and fibula in an opening round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss against Dustin Poirier.

And ruled from a slated comeback at UFC 303 back in June during International Fight Week, just weeks ahead of a welterweight matchup with veteran contender, Michael Chandler, McGregor fractured a toe on the same leg as his prior injury.

IRISH GOER WAR CRY! @danawhite announce signing brother this is…”

“We’ll f*cking mow them down, @danawhite! EIRE!!!!” Conor McGregor posted.

And immediately drawing links to an Octagon debut, McCormack would defend her crown in a fourth round rear-naked choke win over challenger, Karolina Wojcik — lining her up for last night’s outing with Quhui.

And battering the former over the course of three rounds in a bloody decider, McCormack, a staple of Straight Blast Gym, drew praise from former two-weight champion and Irish compatriot, Conor McGregor on social media.

Conor McGregor has always been a great advocate for his fellow Irish fighters when it comes to supporting them and giving them exposure, thanks to his huge following.

“The Notorious” recently couldn’t help but show his appreciation for a UFC hopeful that somehow, despite ticking a lot of boxes, wasn’t offered a spot on the roster.

Ireland’s Danni McCormack is the Invicta strawweight champion and was given the chance to step into a fight on the Road to UFC Series this past weekend.

Whilst it was a tough encounter, McCormack rallied in the third round to show what she is made of before winning a unanimous decision, up at flyweight it’s worth adding.

Her post-fight interview caught the eye of McGregor who gave his seal of approval, which means a lot coming from the man that delivered several of the most iconic moments on the mic in the sport’s history.

“THIS IS A PROMO! In at the drop of a hat to beat and maul the much bigger girl. Conor McGregor Continues To Push For Danni McCormack’s UFC Signing

McCormack’s story has been closely linked with McGregor’s for her entire journey in mixed martial arts.

She met McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, whilst being out in Las Vegas for UFC 189 where “The Mac” faced Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title.

After promising Kavanagh that she’d go on to be one of his fighters, she kept her word and trains out of SBG Dublin to this day.

On the week after the fight, McCormack revealed that she had not been offered a contract by the UFC though she has been told to stay ready in case they come calling on short notice.

McGregor once again stood in McCormack’s corner and pushed for her to get a contract regardless of needing to step in on short notice.

“Mick Maynard my man what’s the craic, we have a story and a journey to witness here! Irish Warrior Woman! Tough as it gets! Let’s roll, @Mickmaynard2 @ufc
