Henry Cejudo has been calling out a bevy of fighters for a potential fight. The list includes the likes of Valentina Shevchenko, Jose Aldo, and Urijah Faber among others. His most recent callout was for an ‘easy fight’ against Dominick Cruz.
In Cejudo’s callout of the former champ, he made a video reading to his belts where he had the following to say.
“Anyways kids I have been thinking, Daddy’s been having really tough fights lately,” Cejudo said. “This last year and a half, he has fought Demetrious Johnson the greatest of all time: beat him. TJ Dillashaw, the greatest bantamweight of all time: beat him. He also beat the killer in Marlon Moraes. Daddy wants an easy fight, kids. I want someone I can break, I want somebody brittle, I want somebody easy.
“Dominick Cruz, I have a message for you,” he continued. “I don’t know how you can say you’re the best in the world when you’re not even the best out of the state of Arizona. Dominick Cruz, you can do me a favor and you can bend the knee to ‘Triple C,’ too. Oh, and one last thing, wash your filthy dog.”
Now, Dominick Cruz took the time to go to social media where he responded to Henry Cejudo.
“[Henry Cejudo]- You’re not in my caliber or class lil man,” Cruz wrote on Instagram. “You and your lil coach [Eric Albarracin].”
Henry Cejudo meanwhile, is currently recovering from an injury and if all goes according to Dana White, he will defend the flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez next.

Cejudo has been calling out multiple opponents for his next fight. However, he is currently sidelined with an injury and UFC president, Dana White, says he must defend the flyweight title next or be stripped of it. So, his next fight will most likely be a rematch against Joseph Benavidez, a fight “Triple C” controversially lost via split decision.
As for Dominick Cruz, he has not fought since he lost his title to Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207. Since then, he has been out with injuries, but was supposed to fight John Lineker earlier this year, before an injury sidelined the former champ once again.

Faber enjoyed a successful return from retirement when he knocked out Ricky Simon in the UFC Sacramento co-headliner this past weekend. Given his name and reputation, it’s entirely possible that Faber gets a title shot next, as both him and Cejudo have already started going back-and-forth with each other.
Cejudo used to train with Faber when he first started out in the sport and has grown leaps and bounds in recent years. He is currently the featherweight and bantamweight champion and has a claim for being the greatest combat sports athlete of all time, given his Olympic gold medal in wrestling as well.
But despite those accolades, “The California Kid” still believes Cruz, who he lost to twice via unanimous decision, is a tougher matchup, style-wise.
Cejudo, meanwhile, is a better matchup for Faber. Which is why he is excited about the prospect of testing himself against the two-weight champion:
“Dom Cruz is a very strange guy to fight,” Faber said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “He’s very tough and unique. Henry Cejudo isn’t as confusing, that’s for sure. He’s very mentally tough, which is his strongest attribute in my opinion. He’s obviously a professional and has made these massive gains in his skillset and made little tweaks throughout time.
“You know, he’s a champion of champions. Henry Cejudo, gold medal, as young as he accomplished it. Then coming in and becoming a two-division champion — that is a dream scenario for me to go test myself.”
