Sengoku 15 has taken quite the hit over the last two weeks as Leo Santos bowed out of his anticipated match-up with Yoshida Dojo rising star Maximo Blanco and the return of the former SRC featherweight champ Masanori Kanehara was put on hold as his opponent Doo Ho Choi was also forced to out due to injury.

Still, the promotion still has some high quality action on offer in the form of the excellent bantamweight Asia and welterweight tournaments, former welterweight and middleweight King of Pancrase Kiuma Kunioku has stepped up to face the wonderfully violent Maximo Blanco and Kazunori Yokota will return to face Brian Cobb.

After the break, Sengoku Raiden Championship 15 predictions so good that they probably need a spoiler warning.

Former Sengoku Raiden Championship featherweight champion Masanori Kanehara will return to action against Doo Ho Choi at SRC 15 the promotion announced Thursday.

Kanehara controversially won the featherweight belt after he took a narrow decision over a battered Michihiro Omigawa in the finals of the 2009 GP. Kanehara was soundly defeated by Hatsu Hioki in the semifinals of the tournament,. but Hioki sustained an injury along the way and so Kanehara was slotted into the final.

Kanehara went on to secure his top career victory over Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto at Dynamite!! on New Year’s Eve, but his first title defense in SRC in June was disastrous as Marlon Sandro took only 38 seconds to KO Kanehara and claim the belt. After losing his strap, Kanehara returned to ZST for a grappling bout against Emerson Azuma where he was victorious by leg lock in the closing seconds.

Sengoku Raiden Championship 13 is in the bag and although American audiences haven’t seen it yet, do we have a new No. 2 featherweight in the world?

It took Marlon Sandro 38 seconds to capture the Sengoku featherweight title, but where does he go from here? Masanori Kanehara seemed to do everything right for this fight, but he still lost his belt in brutal fashion. How does Kanehara recover from this?

Maximo Blanco, Yasubey Enomoto, Shigeki Osawa, Hiroshi Izumi and Doo Ho Choi all picked up wins, but what can we take away from those fights and what does the future hold for these young fighters?

After the break, I attempt to answer all the questions from Sengoku 13, analyze the winners and losers and see what comes next.
