The New Year’s Eve DREAM Dynamite!! 2010 card has added major star power to their event, adding Strikeforce heavyweight champ and recent K-1 World Grand Prix champ Alistair Overeem to the lineup.
DREAM made the addition official in a Wednesday press conference in Tokyo, Japan.
Overeem’s opponent was not named during the press conference. Though several names have been rumored as possible opponents, sources speaking to MMA Fighting say that Overeem’s foe has yet to be finalized.

Well it looks like his detractors won’t be able to call Alistair Overeem a can crusher after New Year’s Eve.
According to heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee, he and the the Strikeforce and 2010 K-1 Grand Prix champion will meet in Japan that night as the main event of Fields’ K-1 Dynamite!! show.
Duffee made the announcement via his Facebook page, but quickly took the post down, but not before we grabbed a screenshot of the message in which he asked, "Have no plans on NYE? Dream Dynamite 2010: Duffee VS Overeem on HDnet!!!"
The 6-1 Evansville, Indiana native, who only fought once this year and was dropped by the UFC for his "bad attitude" according to the promotion’s president Dana White, has not fought since being knocked out by Mike Russow in the third round at UFC 114 after pounding on the Chicago, Illinois native for the first twelve and a half minutes of the fight. He’s scheduled to face 6-3 TUF 10 veteran Abe Wagner under the Titan Fighting Championship banner on January 29.
Overeem (33-11-1) has been equally as inactive in MMA this year, logging just one fight against Brett Rogers, whom he defeated by TKO in just under four minutes at Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery in St Louis, Missouri in May.
The fight has not officially been announced, but Overeem stated last week that he was hoping for a decent opponent and that he was hoping that DREAM would put their heavyweight belt up as the prize for the winner if the match-up was belt-worthy and this fun little scrap fits the bill.

Russian heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov (16-4) has agreed to meet DREAM light-heavyweight Grand Prix Finalist Tatsuay Mizuno (8-6) at the upcoming New Years Eve Dynamite!! 2010 event in Japan.
Kharitonov took the fight just days after he was TKO’d by Singh Jaideep at the K-1 World Grand Prix Finals. His last MMA bout was in April of 2009 against Jeff Monson at DREAM.8, losing by submission and having his three fight win streak stopped. Despite the winning record in his last four which includes a KO win over Alistair Overeem, Kharitonov has taken those fights over the past four years.
Mizuno sports the same 3-1 record in his last four, but has fought five times in the past two years. He is coming off a loss to Gegard Mousasi in September for the DREAM light-heavyweight title. Mizuno has also fought such notable names such as Melvin Manhoef, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovi? and Thiago Silva in the past.
The Dynamite!! 2010 event takes place on Dec. 31 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will be broadcast in North America on HDNet.

A clash of champions and three other bouts were added to K-1 and DREAM promoter Fighting and Entertainment Group’s end of year Dynamite!! event on Friday.
DREAM light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi will return to the K-1 ring for the first time in two years to face reigning K-1 heavyweight champion Kyotaro. The bout will offer a chance for revenge for the K-1 athlete as Mousasi scored a first-round knockout over Japanese K-1 legend Musashi in his K-1 rules debut at Dynamite!! 2008.

Only days after being KOed by the hands of Singh Jaideep at the K-1 World Grand Prix Finals, Sergei Kharitonov has agreed to fight DREAM light heavyweight GP finalist Tatsuya Mizuno at Dynamite!!, MMA Fighting has learned from sources.
The Dec. 31 bout will be the first MMA fight of the year for Kharitonov. The Russian was once considered one of the top heavyweights in the world but his last mixed martial arts appearance was an unimpressive submission loss to Jeff Monson in April 2009. Kharitonov looked as though he had found some form in K-1, with an impressive win over Takumi Sato in Seoul and a good start against Singh “Heart” Jaideep, but that was put to an end as the Indian found a home for his hands.
Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG) announced four more bouts for it’s year end Dynamite!! 2010 event this Friday. Three mixed martial arts bouts and one K-1 rules bout were announced.
The K-1 rules bout will see DREAM light-heavyweight champ Gegard Mousasi (4-0) takes on reigning K-1 heavyweight champ Kyotaro Fujimoto (18-4). Mousasi hasn’t fought […]
