UFC President Dana White and company have been keeping some logistical secrets lately and it appears the boss can hardly hold his tongue any longer.

Much of the time White is just doing what a good promoter does – promote. But other times he is just talking.

Regardless, White feels The Ultimate Fighting (UFC) is about to change the face of mixed martial arts…again.

”I told everybody yesterday, wait till you see what we’re working on in Vegas right now,” White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto post-fight UFC 236 (via MMA Mania). “In the next two months, I’m going to unveil the future. Not of the UFC, of fighting. I’m going to unveil the future of fighting in the next two months. And the amount of talent that we’re looking at right now, the shows that we’re creating to create talent right now.”

”We’ve been on a roll for a while now where every weekend the fights are absolutely ridiculous and we’re going to continue. This partnership that we have with ESPN right now is … is a big deal, man.”

Whatever White is referring to will remain a mystery for now. He could be hinting at the unveiling of the UFC Performance Institutes around the world. However, that would seem lackluster.

With typical big summer match-ups and the possible returns of Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, the next several months look to be big on many fronts. It’s going to be a hot summer in 2019. Hours

The UFC recently made a huge announcement regarding their broadcasting.

ESPN+ will now be the exclusive home for UFC pay-per-view (PPV) events. In short, if you want to watch a UFC PPV, you have to sign up for ESPN+ as well as pay for the PPV fee. This will kick into effect at UFC 236, which is headlined by an interim lightweight title fight.

Dustin Poirier will face off against Max Holloway. Speaking to MMA Junkie, “The Diamond” discussed his thoughts on any of the concerns the move will bring with the new platform (via MMA Mania):

“I guess time will tell,” Poirier said. “Any kinks they have, any problems they have, they’ll fix them because they want to make as much money as possible. So whatever problems come up they’re going to get it fixed.

“But for me I can see problems like with people in Louisiana, like my father-in-law. These guys don’t have smart TVs and stuff like that. They’re not buying the app and signing up for ESPN+. It’s complicated for them. I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out.”

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently sidelined with a suspension. In his absence, featherweight champion Holloway faces the No. 3-ranked Poirier for the interim strap. Holloway is currently on a 13-fight win streak. As for Poirier, he has won four straight fights.

UFC 236 goes down live on ESPN+ from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on April 13.
