On the latest edition of the new “UFC Unfiltered” podcast, CM Punk announced his official UFC debut.

As noted earlier, it had been rumored that the long-talked-about Punk vs. Mickey Gall bout would be taking place at the UFC 203 pay-per-view in September.

Punk was originally rumored to fight Gall at the UFC 202 pay-per-view in August, however for whatever reason, the fight was pushed back again.

Gall earned the shot at Punk by calling him out on Dana White’s “Lookin’ For A Fight” reality show and then winning a preliminary fight in the UFC to officially secure the fight.

Punk-Gall joins Stipe Miocic vs. Alistair Overeem for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 203 on September 10, 2016.

There continues to be conflicting reports regarding the potential sale of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Following reports from FloCombat.com that claimed the Fertitta Brothers sold 100 percent ownership of the UFC for 4.2 billion dollars, UFC would claim through Yahoo! Sports that the rumors weren’t true.

UFC President Dana White appeared on the first ever “UFC Unfiltered” podcast and was asked about the sale rumors, but wouldn’t commit to an answer, simply saying that current UFC employees who are worried about him being part of the UFC shouldn’t worry.

On Wednesday, TMZ Sports provided the following update on the story:

According to reports, WME talent agency, along with a Chinese media org and a group led by Robert Kraft snagged the MMA powerhouse for around $4 billion.

Sources tell us … there are negotiations but “a deal isn’t even close.” In fact, we’re told there has not even been an agreement on whether 100% of the UFC will be sold or just a portion. Nor have the parties agreed on price.

One report says the deal was finalized Sunday between WME CEO Ari Emanuel, Lorenzo Fertitta and other UFC execs at a dinner meeting in Hollywood. But we’ve learned Emanuel was on a plane Sunday flying back from a bar mitzvah out of the country and Lorenzo was in Vegas all day. We’re told Dana White and Frank Fertitta were also in Vegas all day.

We’re told if a deal is consummated, it won’t happen this week and it’s possible it will never happen.

UFC President Dana White appeared on the first ever edition of the new “UFC Unfiltered” podcast with Matt Serra and comedian Jim Norton and spoke in candid fashion about a number of current topics.

In addition to addressing the Ariel Helwani banning, which White referred to as a “pity party” that nearly ended a “major relationship” that UFC has with WWE, the UFC boss also spoke about the Fedor Emelianenko vs. Fabio Maldonado fight that aired on UFC Fight Pass this past weekend.

White claimed that the fight was highly viewed on the UFC Fight Pass service and also criticized the referee of the fight, noting that he appeared willing to let Fedor die before stopping the fight. He also spoke about the possibility of UFC signing Fedor following the Russian legend’s recent claim that he is “closer than ever before” to signing with the promotion.

“They were going to let him die before they stopped that fight, you know that? But a testament to how tough and durable and mentally strong Fedor is, man. He was out. He was out. Literally, when he got back up … when a guy is on crazy legs the way that he was on crazy legs, and it’s not like he was on crazy legs and able to avoid punches after that. He continued to get hit with bombs by Maldonado and he made it through it. But I’ll tell you this: Those refs were willing to let him die before they stopped that fight, No. 1. And No. 2, Fedor’s got a chin and he’s a tough guy. We’ve been negotiating for many, many, many years. I’ll tell you this: Fight Pass did very well with that fight, so people do still want to watch Fedor.”
