If the name Cristiano Marcello rings a bell for MMA fans, it’s most likely because they know him as the former Chute Boxe coach who famously fought Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett in a surprisingly technical backstage brawl at a Pride event in 2005.

But in addition to his work as a trainer at Chute Boxe and now at his own gym, CM System, Marcello has also revitalized his own fighting career in 2010, and on Saturday he takes on Guido Canetti at Bitetti Combat 8 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

While he waited for the organization to give him a specific date, Curran ended up taking a fight for Bellator in April, because he needed the extra money. Curran surprisingly lost the bout, eliminating any shot he had at one of his biggest goals for the year.

“[Fighting] is my only way of making a living,” Curran said Monday on The MMA Hour. “I don’t survive off my school. I actually support the school off of my fighting, so I had to stay busy and tried to do something … and when we looked at the original matchup it was a great matchup.”

Kirby was arrested shortly after the March 11, 2009 crash in Newport Beach, California, registering a .13 blood/alcohol level, well above the legal limit.

According to the Orange County Register, prosecutor Jason Baez told jurors in his opening statement that skid marks show that Kirby was driving at speeds over 100 mph when he lost control of his car and crashed into Lewis.
