Coming to us LIVE from the famous MGM Grand Garden Arena in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada, is UFC 191. At the top of the car din UFC 191 is the rematch of one of the greatest flyweight fights in UFC history, Demetrius Johnson vs. John Dodson. Being over twenty months removed from their first fight, we cant realistically expect the same fight out of these two, but we do except something close. Both of these fighters are looking near the top of their game and both expect to be champion leaving the octagon come Saturday night. Lets break down both of these fighters and see who’s going to come out on top.

Champion Demetrious Johnson

Johnson is said by many to be one of the best fighter in the UFC. One of the most sought after aspect in the entire fighting world is the ability not to get hit. This is something that is difficult to teach, but if you have it, you have it. Demetrius is one of those lucky few that’s got it. He’s so smooth bouncing around the octagon and almost never seems like a strike ever phases him. I know that he was knocked down twice in his last bout with Dodson, but I’m not sure that’ll happen again. Also, the wrestling skills of Johnson some say are second to none. Johnson can shoot lightning fast and control not only others, but himself in important situations. Last, his hands are some of the fastest in the UFC. Not only though are they fast, they’re heavy. My advice for Johnson is just to do what you do. His body movements on his feet and the ground can lead him to where he needs to be for when he feels its necessary to stroke on his own.

#1 Contender John Dodson

Dodson was nearly forgot about about a year ago when he was struck with a serious knee injury that sidelined him for 12-monmths. Dodson came back strong though. He has won his last two fights and is looking good coming into this long-awaited rematch. When it comes to technical aspects Dodson is lacking but Johnson better has been working illustrious movements because he will not want to get in the way of a Dodson-cross. I mention earlier that Johnson had heavy hands, well Dodson is in the same league. Also, his movement in my opinion are quicker than Johnson. He might not be as smooth, but catching him will not be easy. My advice for Dodson is too pick his spots. Having only a few advantages, Dodson will want to spend most of the time on his feet. Johnson has to many skills on the mat to even give him the advantage, stay on your feet, use your athleticism and make sure you choose wisely for your attack.

Prediction

Now, I don’t believe we are going to get a replay from their first bout between these two fighters but I think this fight will be good. Dodson has looked good in his last two fights notwithstanding being sidelined for twelve months but I’m not sure his quite up for the test Johnson is going to put him through. Johnson has nearly puled a “Rousey” in the Flyweight Division by almost clearing everyone out and I don’t see it stopping. The UFC waited the appropriate time to have this rematch but I just don’t think the Dodson will be able to take down the champ.

Winner: By Decision Demetrious Johnson

Current UFC 191 Odds Coming to us LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC 191 brings us the rematch we have been waiting for. At the top of the car for UFC 191 is the long awaited rematch of Demetrius Johnson vs. John Dodson. The first go around for Johnson and Dodson was quite possibly one of the greatest Flyweight Championship matches in UFC history. Knowing the history of both we’re expecting much of the same this time around. Each fighter looks to be near the top of their game and Dodson has done what was needed to once again earn the right to fight for championship glory. Although Dodson was out for 12-months with a serious knee injury, he was able to return to the octagon and do his job. Johnson, well he just looks good. Some might say he’s the best fighter in MMA, and I’m not one to argue with that contention. The people in Las Vegas are seeing Johnson as the heavy favorite at -400, while Dodson is sitting at +300. Even though the epic first battle between these two is over twenty months removed, all signs point towards another vicious battle in the octagon.

UFC 190 comes to us LIVE from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main event features the most feared woman in all MMA, Ronda Rousey, and her opponent comes in as the number seven contender in the woman’s bantam-weight class, Bethe Correia. Before we discuss the attributes of each fighter, lets quickly explain how Bethe Correia “earned” her shot at the title. First, Ronda Rousey has torn her way through this weight class without even a speed bump to slow her down, which leaves her with no one else to fight. Second, Bethe Correia has a big mouth. Fortunately for her, she was able to back it up, well up at least until probably Saturday.  Now lets break it down and see if Correia actually has a fighting chance in UFC 190.

Bethe Correia –

Bethe Correia is going to need to out-strike Rousey. I know that seems like a tall task but it’s really her only chance. Let’s logically think about this. Correia doesn’t want to get on the mat with Rouseyin fear of an imminent arm-bar. So with one of two choices being awful, we’ll say she should go with the former. Beating Rousey with clean striking isn’t an impossible task. Now, I’m not inferring it’s going to happen, but with a little patience, it’s possible. Let’s look at some of the Rousey fights that went longer than oh, a minute. These women didn’t just bum-rush Rousey, they held back and picked there spots, and most just unfortunately got caught in an arm-bar. Correia needs to pick her spots and let the match wind down. In reality though, its going to need to be a KO. Even with the best coaching, you’re not going to win a decision over Ronda Rousey, I don’t care if you are from Brazil or not. Correia needs to hang back and let Rousey initiate what she believes should happen, and counter. Last, if Correia gets taken to the mat she should probably get up, yesterday.

Ronda Rousey –

Not much more can be said about Rousey that already hasn’t. You can began with talking about her striking capabilities and how some critics don’t believe they are as clean as they should, and typically Rousey would respond by saying something along the lines of, they seem good enough. Then you can move on to her grappling skills and mention how they are possibly the best the MMA has ever seen. She understands fighting like a science. It’s more along the lines of a passion to learn the intricacies, than just fighting for a paycheck. She was blessed with the body, and mind to take what some of the greatest trainers in the world tell her, and put it all into action. Whether she decides to throw you on your back and ground-and-pound or use Judo in some fashion, this is an area in which Correia will want nothing of. Ultimately, Ronda will she an opening, toss her on her back and attempt to do what we are all accustomed to, win.

Prediction –

Even with the Vegas lines sitting at +700 for Correia, it’s still not enough for me to believe anyone should think there’s a chance of making good money. This one is just to lop-sided in every category to believe Correia has a chance. I predict that Rousey will win in the first round. Mousey is just to skilled to lose to someone that hasn’t seen the caliber of fighter that Rousey is.

WINNER by KO in the 1st Round – Ronda Rousey

Well, unfortunately what we are all afraid of happened, another injury before a UFC title fight. Jose Aldo has pulled out of UFC 189 and is replaced by Chad Mendes. The UFC has decided to make the winner the interim Champion. Still, though, I do believe we are going to see a great fight. Conor McGregor is posed to become the poster child of the UFC with his obnoxious comments and actions. With that being said, this Irish-man has walked the walked, and not many can say that. Chad Mendes on the other hand doesn’t like to lose to anyone not named Aldo, and doesn’t see that changing any time soon. Myself, and I’m sure all UFC fans alike, we are finally going to see McGregor’s skills put to the test against a formidable opponent. Here’s how I think it’ll go down.

Chad Mendes

Mendes is going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at McGregor. The first step for Mendes is going to be to take McGregor to the mat. Mendes will expose any weakness McGregor might have in his defense. There will be worries about conditioning and fighting three times within the last ten months but let me put those assumptions to rest. Mendes, is healthy all year round and only needs to refine his skills, rather than rebuild them. Also, training for McGregor is nearly pointless. McGregor is extremely unorthodox and I believe the counter-game is what Mendes is refining in the gym. Last, Mendes is going to show McGregor power he has never felt before. McGregor is going to show no respect, like normal, move forward with his hands down and mouth running. My advice for Mendes is to place McGregor on the mat and make him work for everything. Make McGregor exert every ounce of energy he has and then just keep close and strike.

Conor McGregor –

This obnoxious Irish-man can fight as well as he can run his mouth. The UFC, in my opinion, was looking to make him the poster-child of the UFC with a win over Aldo but that obviously has changed. McGregor though doesn’t plan on the outcome changing. He doesn’t think this fight is going to last longer than four minutes whether it be Aldo or Mendes. McGregor possess skills everyone dreams of because they are nightmares to fight against. The unorthodox southpaw dances around the octagon kicking his way to victory. McGregor’s game plan won’t change, he is going to keep his distance the entire fight, throwing kicks and irritating his opponent until they make a mistake in which McGregor will counter. Now, we cant take much from the fight against Siver, because well, it’s Siver but what we can take is the plan never changes. Mendes is going to want to get close, McGregor is going to need to use his powerful jab and kick until Mendes diverts from his game plan and falls into the trap McGregor has set.

Prediction –

I’ll just tell you right off the back, I’m taking Mendes. Now I don’t believe in any sense that McGregor has a glass chin but a counter by Mendes is going to place McGregor on his back. McGregor is going to spend the entire rest of the fight trying to regain position, exerting all of the energy in his tank. Mendes is going to use his wrestling skills to keep McGregor on his back frustrating him until the final bell. I’m not sure about you all but I’m already prepping for Aldo vs. Mendes III

Winner – By Decision – Chad Mendes
