MMA veteran Travis Fulton is dead at 44.

The former UFC fighter — who competed over 300 times in the sport — was found dead in the early hours of Saturday morning in his jail cell by alleged hanging.

He was confined in the Linn County Correctional Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he was facing charges of child pornography.

Fulton was also awaiting trial for allegations regarding domestic battery where he was said to have been “repeatedly punching a woman in the head and back in Waterloo and threatening to kill her if she talked to police.”

Fulton — who competed twice in the UFC — compiled a 255-54-10 professional MMA record with one no contest. He notably holds the record for most sanctioned MMA fights as well as MMA wins.

His last outing was a submission win over Shannon Ritch at a M-1 show in April 2019.

It’s fair to say Fabricio Werdum wants his name in the hat to face Fedor Emelianenko next.

With the news that Emelianenko was set to return to action for Bellator in an event taking place October 23 in Moscow, Russia, a number of names have been in contact with Scott Coker to fight “The Last Emperor” next.

Among them include Josh Barnett, Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem to name a few. We can now comfortably add Werdum’s name to that list despite him being the first fighter to stop Emelianenko’s legendary unbeaten run.

The former UFC heavyweight champion also took a dig at the Russian MMA legend in the process with some recent tweets.

“IF fedor The ? do you need revenge from me HEY I’m ready to go to Russia”

“Fedor was never the goat because I killed the ? @ScottCoker let’s go”

This follows Werdum’s tweets prior where he hyped up a rematch.

Werdum notably submitted Emelianenko in the first round when they clashed at a 2010 Strikeforce headliner. As a result, the Brazilian ended Emelianenko’s 28-fight unbeaten run at the time.

Do you want to see a rematch between them?

John Dodson will no longer be competing later this month.

Dodson’s manager Ricky Kottenstette revealed Saturday that Dodson and his family were involved in a car accident on Friday evening. The Dodsons were on vacation to Texas to visit family until they were involved in the accident with their car being totaled completely.

Fortunately, Dodson and his family were released from the hospital earlier this morning, but have been hit with plenty of bills. Kottenstette has since started a GoFundMe page to help with these expenses.

“We have started this go fund me to help John Dodson and family,” the GoFundMe page stated. “The Dodson’s were headed to Texas on vacation to visit family when they were involved in a near death accident with the whole family inside the vehicle. They were all released from the hospital this morning but will have a rough month of recovery and financial hardship ahead. They have totaled their family vehicle and unfortunately John will no longer be able to fight in his upcoming July 30th bout. We are asking for assistance to help them with their medical bills, financial assistance from being out of work and travel back to New Mexico. Let’s show these guys some ?.”

Naturally, Dodson will no longer be competing at the upcoming XMMA event taking place July 30 in Greenville, South Carolina. It was to be his first fight since parting ways with the UFC in September.

LowKickMMA wishes the entire Dodson family a speedy recovery.
