Ian Garry vows to land fight with Sean Strickland after UFC 298 I'll thump the mouth off of him

Unbeaten Irish striker, Ian Garry has vowed to “thump” the mouth off of former undisputed middleweight champion, Sean Strickland in the future – ahead of his UFC 298 return against Geoff Neal this weekend in Anaheim.

Garry, the current number ten ranked welterweight contender, has been sidelined since last August, most recently featuring on the main card of UFC 292 in Boston, turning in a one-sided decision win over the division’s most-winningest fighter, Neil Magny.

And booking a rescheduled pairing with Neal at UFC 298 this weekend, a prolonged battle with pneumonia resulted in Portmarnock native, Garry’s withdrawal from a December fight with Kill Cliff FC training partner, Vicente Luque at UFC 296

Taking his unbeaten talents to Brazil ahead of his return at UFC 298, Garry has linked with up with undisputed lightweight champion, Charles Oliviera at Chute Boxe under Diego Lima in another switch up of camp.

Ian Garry hits out at rival, Sean Strickland

And sharing his thoughts on his ongoing rivalry with ex-champion, Strickland, Garry vows to fight the former middleweight titleholder in the future, claiming he would handily beat the outspoken American if they share the Octagon together.

“Here’s the thing – here’s the two things that I’ll point out to you,” Ian Garry told assembled media during his UFC 298 media day availability. “My wife was called a p*dophile by Sean Strickland. No woman ever deserves to be called that, right? That’s the truth. My son – the people that follow Sean Strickland commented on a couple of my photos at the very start of all this hate, saying, ‘Is the kid even his?’”

“…And I’ll get mine back – I’ll thump the f*cking mouth off Sean Strickland one day,” Ian Garry explained. “And there’ll be nothing he can do about it. And I’ll talk to him, I’ll dance in his face – I do whatever I want. Because the truth is, when we get locked into that cage one, he’s never gonna be able to deal with me.”

Who wins in a future fight: Sean Strickland or Ian Garry?

Ian Garry is ready to rattle the haters at UFC 298: ‘If you don’t eat at my table, I don’t care for your opinion’

If you’re not eating at his table, Ian Garry is not interested in listening to what you have to say.

‘The Future’ returns to the Octagon this Saturday night for a rescheduled clash with Geoff Neal at UFC 298. Garry is undefeated in his mixed martial arts career, going 13-0 thus far with his last six wins under the UFC banner. Unfortunately, much of the attention surrounding the up-and-coming Irishman as of late has focused on things unrelated to his combat sports career.

Last year, Garry and his wife — Layla Anna-Lee — came under fire after it was revealed that Anna-Lee, who is 14 years older than Garry, once wrote a how-to book for mature women looking to date younger athletes. Though the 11-page scribe was written facetiously, she quickly drew the ire of fighters and fans alike.

Most notably, former middleweight world champion Sean Strickland delivered a series of scathing reactions to the reveal, dubbing Anna-Lee a “succubus” and a “predator.”

Speaking with TNT Sports, Garry revealed that the entire ordeal has drawn him closer to his family and has taught him to not value the opinion of anyone who sits outside of his circle.

“When I sign up to fight, I’m putting myself in that firing range,” Garry said. “I have that target on my back. My wife doesn’t, my son doesn’t, my team doesn’t. Fire at me all you want, that’s OK — I’m in this, I get to go in and punch someone in the face and get rid of it. I get to go in and I can call you out and I can fight you and we can do this. But to attack people’s loved ones and people’s family, I feel, is real low. I mean, my wife got called a pedophile. No one in the world who isn’t that deserves to be called that.

“So all of the [expletive] that’s been said absolutely has an effect on me and my loved ones, and it’s hurtful and it’s upsetting and it was difficult to deal with at the time, but we’ve learned from it. Somehow through all that negativity we’ve learned to pull the people around us closer. If you don’t eat at my table, I don’t care for your opinion.”

Despite all the background noise, Ian Garry is unwavering in his next goal, which is to be standing over Geoff Neal’s unconscious body in front of 20,000 people inside Anaheim’s Honda Center.

“I’m not going to sit down and berate people in a stadium whether they’re booing or not,” Garry said. “If that’s their opinion, fine. What I will do is I’ll bury Geoff Neal into the ground, I’ll stand over his body, I’ll do a 360 and I’ll look and I’ll assess every single person who I make eye contact with, and when I get on that mic, I’ll use that mic to do what it’s best for.

I’ll call out who’s next and I’ll line up what I want next, who I want next, where I want next, and I’ll get what I want because that’s how much power I have now. That’s the power I have. It’s in my hands now” (h/t BJPenn.com)

Rising welterweight contender Ian Garry labeled Octagon icon Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson a “thick c*nt” and a “f*cking idiot” during an X-rated rant on social media.

Garry was set to appear on Jackson’s JAXXON podcast days ahead of his UFC 298 clash with Geoff Neal on February 17. However, those plans have been seemingly scrapped after ‘Rampage’ called Garry a “cuck” during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“I’ve got him in like four days I’m on his podcast, and he goes on, calls me a cuck,” Garry said via his Instagram stories. ‘Ian the cuck,’ he didn’t even know my name and he’s like asking Ariel [Helwani], ‘Does his wife really have a boyfriend?’

Getting wind of Garry’s NSFW comments, ‘Rampage’ attempted to make amends with ‘The Future’ via a video on X.

“Yo, boys. This is your guy ‘Rampage.’ I just gotta tell ya’ll that these fighters who come on the Jaxxon podcast, it’s all respect. It’s all love,” Jackson said. “Ya’ll know I just be joking. I got much respect and mad love for all ya’ll. I just be joking, man. I’m trying to be a comedian too much, but I’ve been trying to tell ya’ll for years that I’m a comedian pretending to be a fighter. I’ve seen some of the clips that I’ve been doing and I do f*ck up a lot of names. There’s a couple names that I just can’t say. That’s why I make fun of myself.

“And to Ian Garry, I do feel bad because he don’t know me. He never met me. He’s probably never seen my fights. He don’t know my personality. He don’t know that I just be joking, but it’s all love, man. I love all ya’ll. Mad respect to everybody who gets out there and fight.”

But in true ‘Rampage’ fashion, the former PRIDE fighter made it clear that there is one man out there he does not respect.

“I got love and respect for everybody except Shannon Briggs. F*ck that motherf*cker. That walrus-lookin’ motherf*cker. But to all the other fighters, mad love to all of ya’ll. But Shannon Briggs, f*ck that motherf*cker.”

After years of back-and-forth trash talk between the two, ‘Rampage’ and the former WBO heavyweight world champion will strap on the eight-ounce gloves for a clash inside the squared circle. The boxing match is expected to emanate from The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on June 1.

Ian Garry hits out at Rampage Jackson after jibe at wife you're believing other people's lies UFC 298

Ian Garry cannot catch a break and disputes his approach clearly not working for him in terms of winning over the public, still chooses to bite back and put odd frankly odd social media content to give the response. For someone who has not orchestrated a ‘bad guy’ persona and clearly wants, and puts effort into, being liked he continues to have a growing group of detractors.

Garry also seems to come up second best in many of the online battles he engages in, either with fans or fellow fighters.

Ian Garry responds to Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson

Jackson would poke fun at Garry during his recent appearance on The MMA Hour — ahead of the Dubliner’s fight at UFC 298 next weekend. The former UFC light-heavyweight champion called Garry a ‘cuck’, something which has now become rather popular to do after online rumours circulated about the Irishman’s wife.

Garry posted to his Instagram Stories and didn’t hold back on Jackson.

“Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson went on [The MMA Hour] last night and talked about how I turned down his podcast because I was afraid of being made fun of,”  Ian Garry said. “I’ve got the c—t on Monday of fight week. I’ve got him in like four days I’m on his podcast, and he goes on, calls me a cuck. ‘Ian the cuck,’ he didn’t even know my name and he’s like asking Ariel [Helwani], ‘Does his wife really have a boyfriend?’ No, you thick c—t. No.”

“You’re believing absolute bollocks and lies from other people,” he continued. “Imagine running a podcast and not knowing who your next guest was. Imagine being that f—king stupid. Then going on [The MMA Hour] and speaking about it. Well, I can tell you one thing, you’re definitely not having me on now because you’re a f—king idiot chatting mad s—t. Good luck. Take care. I wish you nothing but f—king f—k all.”

Ian Garry vows to leave Geoff Neal like a defecating dog at UFC 298 I'll make him quit

Unbeaten welterweight contender, Ian Garry has promised to leave incoming foe, Geoff Neal looking like a defecating dog in their UFC 298 grudge match later this month – claiming he will make the Texas striker “quit” inside the Octagon.

Garry, the current number number ten ranked welterweight contender, has been sidelined since August of last year, most recently turning in a one-sided decision shutout over recent winner, welterweight veteran, Neil Magny.

And booked for a high-profile clash with Kill Cliff FC stablemate, Vicente Luque at UFC 296 back in December, a nasty viral infection forced Dublin striker, Garry from the pairing with the Brazilian-American.

Ian Garry provides bizarre prediction for UFC 298 return

Set to make his return this month in a rescheduled fight against Texan striker, Neal at UFC 298 in Anaheim, Garry has made a rather bizarre and specific prediction for his planned finish of the former – anecdotally describing the process of a dog defecating.

“What am I going to finish him (Geoff Neal) with?” Ian Garry told on his official Instagram account. “I am going to make him quit. He’ll choose when he’s done. I’d like to kick him to the body and have him do that – when the dog is sh*tting.”

“The dog looks at you like – when they’re pooing, for protection,” Ian Garry explained. “That’s what they do, right? [They] look at their owners when they’re pooing because that’s when they’re vulnerable for attack.” (H/T MMANews)

Holding the number eight rank at the welterweight limit, Neal most recently featured at UFC 285 back in March, suffering a third round rear-naked choke loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, which snapped a winning run over both the above-mentioned, Luque, and Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Ian Garry wife Layla Anna-Lee on Jon Anik apology

Layla Anna-Lee, the wife of UFC welterweight standout Ian Garry, has interjected herself into the recent drama involving longtime play-by-play man Jon Anik.

Following UFC 297’s contentious title tilt between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, Anik voiced his opinion that ‘DDP’ was the rightful winner of the closely contested contest. That seemingly struck a chord with fight fans online who expressed their differing opinions in an NSFW way. That prompted Anik to deliver a viral rant, sharing his frustration over the increasingly toxic MMA fanbase. He even went so far as to suggest that those particular fans will be what ultimately drives him away from the UFC.

Anik’s words caused a massive media storm, with practically every outlet reporting on Anik’s intentions to retire soon and the fanbase’s role in his decision. That prompted Anik to apologize to fight fans on Instagram, making it clear that he was in a “heightened emotional state” and made some “regrettable comments relating to the MMA fanbase.”

Ian Garry’s Wife Refuses to Accept Jon Anik’s Apology

Everyone was seemingly ready to move on following the apology, but there’s one person in particular who has refused to accept his expression of regret.

Layla Anna-Lee responded to the post and made it clear that Anik has nothing to apologize for and thus, she will not accept it.

“Baffled by the apology,” Anna-Lee wrote on the comments. “No way can I accept this. No way. You don’t have a right to an opinion now? “Free speech” is only for haters? No.”

Anna-Lee found herself the subject of many headlines last year after it was revealed that the 40-year-old TV personality had written a book entitled How to Be a Wag. The 11-page scribe is described as a guidebook designed to teach older women how to date and marry younger celebrities and athletes.

Given that she is 14 years older than Garry, the news spread like wildfire, particularly when former middleweight champion Sean Strickland chimed in, calling her a “succubus” and a “predator.”
