Love him or hate him, there’s no denying Ken Shamrock‘s place in the history of MMA.

But with all the accolades, the UFC Hall of Famer’s name in recent years has instead been attached to controversy. There’s been questions as to why Shamrock, now 46, continues to fight (he’s lost seven of his last nine), and in his lone recent win last year, tested positive for steroids.

Brad Morris will replace Bob Sapp and meet fellow countryman Soa Palelei at Impact FC 2 this Saturday in Sydney, Australia.

Sapp fell off the card after being told by promoters it would be too expensive for him to be flown in from Bulgaria to Sydney, MMAjunkie.com reported Wednesday evening.

MMAFighting.com has since learned that Morris has agreed to be the replacement, setting up a rematch from both heavyweight’s MMA debuts. On a local card in September 2002, Morris (10-4) lost by TKO to Palelei (9-2).

There’s a new heavyweight Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt in town.

Soa “The Hulk” Palelei was promoted last week to black belt as he begins preparations for a MMA fight against Bob Sapp at Impact FC 2 on July 18 in Sydney, Australia. Palelei received his belt from David Phillips, under Pedro Sauer.

“I’ve been doing BJJ for almost 12 years its been a long time,” Palelei said with a laugh. “It was so good getting my black belt and it’s been a long time coming, but very good putting my jiu-jitsu gi on and I feel proud.”
