UFC Fight Night 121 went down tonight (Saturday, November 18, 2017) from the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. The main event featured former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum battling up-and-comer Marcin Tybura. Surprisingly, the heavyweights went the full five rounds in a fairly high-paced striking affair. Werdum swept the scorecards with a higher volume of kicks and punches and nasty clinch game. Tybura had his best moments in the final round, when he landed several head kicks, the first of which seemed to buckle Werdum’s legs for a moment. But it wasn’t enough to get the finish he needed, and Werdum took home a unanimous decision.

The co-headliner was an odd one, as Bec Rawlings moved up to flyweight and welcomed Jessica Rose-Clark to the Octagon. The two strawweights slugged it out and traded takedowns. The fight was a close one (one of four split decisions, and three straight on the main card), but it was the newcomer “Jessy Jess” who got her hand raised at the end of the night.
