Cage Potato Video PSA: Don’t Spar With a Stranger in a Cowboy Hat If He Strolls Into Your Gym

(Video courtesy of YouTube/

A word of advice: even if you’re the big dog in your gym, NEVER EVER accept the offer of a dude in a TapouT cowboy hat to spar, lest you might find yourself waking up with Donald Cerrone looking over you rubbing your chest and seeing if you’re okay.

Props to Donald for checking on his opponent without Greg Jackson’s prompting, though. And I call bullshit on the dude who posted it on YouTube being a friend of the guy who “Cowboy” KTFO. Friends don’t let friends with questionable stand-up spar with a UFC fighter, and they sure as hell don’t post it on YouTube.

We’re just playin’. The falling tree KO video actually was sent to us by JPReed1918 — the dude who shot the light sparring match-up between Cerrone and Andrei Arlovski’s brother….okay maybe it wasn’t Victor Arlovski, but he did look like him for a second there.

Here’s the actual explanation from the reader who shot the video:

Cage Potatoe <—-Dan Quail style,

So sorry I could not elaborate on the video. I figured it might get on a cagepotato link so I sent it during my class. The video was from a seminar Cerrone did for us and this was his 20-ish sparring match in a row. Dude let everyone who was there spar with him. He is a fucking class act and in fact he did the seminar for free for our gym. He had no ill intention of knocking out my teammate. He got tagged and after I ended the video all sparring stopped and we all had a good laugh. He was really concerned for my friend and felt terrible. We all went to hooters after. True story.

Good talk,

JPReed

Knockout of the Day: Reynaldo Trujillo Wins via Superman Punch at LFC 10

Props: IronForgesIron.com

Brazilian Muay Thai specialist Munil Adriano hasn’t exactly fared well in his mixed martial arts career. After starting off 0-5, Adriano looked to pick up his first victory last night in Houston at Legacy Fighting Championship 10 against Strikeforce veteran Reynaldo Trujillo. Despite what you’d usually assume about a fighter wearing white grappling tights, Munil Adriano planned on overwhelming Reynaldo Trujillo with his Muay Thai prowess.

In hindsight, it’s pretty funny that a guy who many believed had the superior stand up attack got knocked out by a Superman punch in less than thirty seconds. You know, if you’re the type of jerk to laugh at the misfortunes of others and all. Which we all know you are, so feel free to point and laugh at the 1:04 mark of the video. Trujillo is now 10-6 in his MMA career, with seven victories coming by way of knockout.

And because you’re so curious, the rest of the card saw UFC veteran Pat Audinwood armbar Justin Reiswerg and Gerald Harris coast his way to a victory over Eric Davilla after his original opponent, DJ Linderman, missed weight by ten pounds for their bout. This card also saw Carson Beebe impersonate Antonio McKee for three rounds against Tim Snyder and Chidi Njokuani punch out Jon Harris in the first round of their fight.

This knockout from an unidentified and undated muay thai event video is as nasty as any we’ve seen. The perfectly executed straight right, shin to the face combo renders the victim unconscious and makes him look like he suffers from cerebral palsy or epilepsy.

Damn, son! You got knocked the fuck out!

Video of the Day: Rap Battle Ends in KO

(Video courtesy of YouTube/1stYoshi)

When I was a kid I used to dream about settling all of my conflicts Bruce Lee-style by knocking fools out with backfists and spinning roundhouses.

Now, there’s a pretty good chance that the video above is fake, considering the kick doesn’t seem to connect, but if it isn’t it’s one of the best incidences of poetic justice we’ve ever seen.

Dude insults rap battle opponent and gets shoved and called out by the poor sport before demonstrating some Ong Bak-esque Taekwondo on his ass. Cue walk-off KO.
