Gray Maynard is Now the Underdog at +110

Going into his UFC 125 title shot match, Gray Maynard was the clear favorite in all the sportsbooks. But now after their 5 round battle which Frankie Edgar believes he won the last 4 out of 5 rounds and Maynard believes he scored a 10-7 in the 1st round and won rounds 3 and 5, […]

Going into his UFC 125 title shot match, Gray Maynard was the clear favorite in all the sportsbooks. But now after their 5 round battle which Frankie Edgar believes he won the last 4 out of 5 rounds and Maynard believes he scored a 10-7 in the 1st round and won rounds 3 and 5, but the judges decided was a DRAW, it looks as if the tides have turned in the books and Maynard has more to prove. Maynard is the dog by as much as (+110) and that value should go down to about +100 (as it has in some books) so place your bets now if you feel that UFC 130: Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard (the Trilogy) will end with the Lightweight belt wrapped around Maynard’s waist.

Roy Nelson and Frank Mir are Even at -115

UFC 130 betting lines show no favorite in the Roy Nelson vs. Frank Mir bout, pitting both of them as -115. We can understand why it’s hard for the sportsbooks to decide who may have the slight advantage over the other here. Frank Mir is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, coming off a KO (knees) win […]

Frank-Mir-Vs.-Roy-Nelson

UFC 130 betting lines show no favorite in the Roy Nelson vs. Frank Mir bout, pitting both of them as -115. We can understand why it’s hard for the sportsbooks to decide who may have the slight advantage over the other here. Frank Mir is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, coming off a KO (knees) win over Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and has only lost twice in the last four years to Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar. Roy Nelson is a respected former IFL Heavyweight Champion who beat out Brendan Schaub as the TUF 10 season winner and lost his first UFC fight to Junior dos Santos. Neither fighter here is a joke as we saw amazing heart in Nelson’s 3 round fight with dos Santos and Frank Mir has shown solid improvement in his cardio and striking.

If you feel in your heart that one of these two friends can beat the other, then head here and place your bet for the Heavyweight showdown taking place on May 28th in Las Vegas.

Randy Couture is Your UFC 129 Best Bet

There is a ton of line movement for Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida as some online sportsbooks have decided to jump Machida from a -300 favorite to a (-500) favorite. I don’t know what the books are thinking here, but we recall that this same thing happened a few weeks before George Sotiropoulos fought Denis […]

There is a ton of line movement for Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida as some online sportsbooks have decided to jump Machida from a -300 favorite to a (500) favorite. I don’t know what the books are thinking here, but we recall that this same thing happened a few weeks before George Sotiropoulos fought Denis Siver and that turned out to be a big pay off for Siver believers who opted to go with him as a +300 underdog. Now the books have Couture at as much as a (+300) underdog and that’s a value you can’t beat. Couture has won his last 3 plus he’s got the confidence coming into this one. Machida lost his belt to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua after a rematch occurred when everyone else disagreed with the judges. Then he lost a split decision to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Couture is hard to beat off the ground, if Machida can get him there and Couture has displayed way better boxing skills. Going up against the karate master will be a new experience for Couture but he’s worth the dog value bet.

Another fight to keep an eye on is Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick for Aldo’s Featherweight title. Hominick’s value as an underdog is decreasing as the lines have moved down to about (+275) from a previous +300 at some books. This is Hominicks’ home town fight and he always brings a solid technical game. He will be hard to knock out and has proven time and time again, he can submit his opponent. Hominick is likely to score points by precisely landing shots. If you believe that Hominick has the home court advantage, place your bets NOW as the lines continue to move and you can lose the bigger value!

UFC Fight Night 24: Noguiera Vs. Davis happens this Saturday night in Seattle and for once, we completely agree with the betting lines.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (+210) vs. Phil Davis (-280):

Phil Davis is a late replacement for Tito Ortiz in this headlining bout against Antonio “Lil’ Nog” Nogueira but is still rightfully the favorite. Both Lil’ Nog and Davis are big guys, but as we saw in Nogueira’s fight against Ryan Bader, he can be taken down and Davis just has the upper wrestling hand here.

Dan Hardy (+155) vs. Anthony Johnson (-190):

In a win we feel will also happen on the ground… Dan Hardy has proven he can stand and bang, but he likely will be not have the defense against the bigger Anthony Johnson who should easily take him to the ground and use his prime wrestling skills to win this fight.

DaMarques Johnson (+200) vs. Amir Sadollah (-260):

DaMarques Johnson has yet to demonstrate consistency on the ground or standing. Amir Sadollah should have solid takedown defense and his kickboxing arsenal to grind out the victory.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 has yet to begin airing, but we’re already excited about its finale fight card! WEC Lightweight Champion, Anthony Pettis admirably put his title-shot on the line to face Clay Guida this June 4th while current UFC Lightweight Champion, Frankie Edgar faces Gray Maynard a third time this May at UFC 130. Pettis could have waited in his place at the front of the long Lightweight contender line, but decided he would prove that he’s rightfully the number one contender by taking on and hopefully for his sake, beating the fighter in the UFC with possibly the greatest demonstrated cardio we’ve ever seen. But that’s just the headlining fight and the rest of the card is shaping up very nicely:

Main Card:
Lightweight bout: Anthony Pettis vs. Clay Guida
Lightweight bout: Jeremy Stephens vs. Jonathan Brookins

Preliminary Card:
Middleweight bout: Ed Herman vs. Tim Credeur
Featherweight bout: Josh Grispi vs. George Roop
Bantamweight bout: Scott Jorgensen vs. Ken Stone

You can find pre-sale and public ticket purchasing information: here.

The betting lines for the Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis bout have yet to be posted. It will be interesting who the lines will show as the favorite. Stay tuned to find the best TUF 13 Finale betting lines here at Fix!

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (+160)
Shogun is the current UFC Lightweight Champion and proved worthy of the title in both fights with Lyoto Machida as many remember he should have won that first fight against “The Dragon” at UFC 104. We know that Rua has the powerful leg kicks needed to take out Jon Jones. Plus, we gotta say, it’s not cool that Jon Jones has already been signing autographs as “Champion 2011″. We’ve all seen the movies and know where that’s going. The young hero always gets a little too cocky and has to be humbled again before his next great win. Plus at +155 and +160, you just can’t beat the value on Rua for this fight.

Jim Miller (-260)
The UFC Lightweight is on a 6 win hot streak with his last victory suffered by Charles Oliveira who was submitted by Miller’s kneebar in the first 2 minutes of the first round at UFC 124. Miller’s only loss in his UFC career was a Unanimous Decision to number 1 Lightweight title contender, Gray Maynard. Miller’s UFC 128 opponent is WEC veteran, Kamal Shalorus who has sound BJJ and catch wrestling skills and should give Miller a good match. But Miller has beaten good ground gamers before and Shalorus just may not be ready for Miller’s caliber in his UFC debut.

Mike Pyle (+145)
Pyle is always underestimated but after he beat John Hathaway as a +400 underdog at UFC 120, we vowed never to bet against him again. Pyle’s matchup against Ricardo Almeida looks pretty even for us as both fighters are most comfortable on the ground, but Pyle’s been working heavily with Xtreme Couture Boxing Coach, Gil Martinez and we’ve seen with Gray Maynard that Martinez is solidly improving the stand-up skills of his ground gamers.
