Since he appeared on the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” more than five years ago, it’s been pretty clear that Josh Koscheck isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers.

He’s been as outspoken as ever leading up to his Dec. 11 UFC welterweight title fight against champion Georges St-Pierre – and the evidence can be seen each Wednesday on the current Season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter” with Koscheck and St-Pierre as opposing coaches.

On Tuesday, at a press conference officially announcing UFC 124 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Koscheck was asked if he was racist for saying on TUF he doesn’t want to lose to anyone – especially St-Pierre, “a French guy.” But he said having few filters when it comes to expressing himself goes back a long way.

Three months away from his UFC welterweight title fight against champion Georges St-Pierre, and the week before his debut as a coach on Season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Josh Koscheck knows he’s the villain.

Koscheck, whose role as a fighter many fans love to hate began on the inaugural season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” has always seemed to march to his own beat. And on Tuesday, he told Ariel Helwani on “The MMA Hour” that being looked at as the bad guy doesn’t matter to him.

“Being loved or hated, ya know what? It’s about making money for me,” Koscheck said. “So if I’ve got to be the bad guy to make money, then I’ll be the bad guy to make money.”

It looks like Mike Pierce won’t be getting the bone he wanted the UFC to throw him for earning his third Octagon appearance last weekend at UFC 118 against Amilcar Alves.

Yesterday Pierce called out Thiago Alves via Twitter and "The Pitbull" accepted the Washington native’s challenge, however the UFC had other plans for the American Top Team fighter who will now face John Howard at UFC 124 in Montreal on December 11.

The news was first reported by MMAJunkie this afternoon and we were able to confirm with a source close to Alves.

The fight may well be Alves’ last stab at remaining at welterweight after he failed to make weight for the second time in his UFC career, this time for an important number two contendership match-up with Jon Fitch at UFC 117 last month that would determine who was next in line for a shot at the winner of the Georges St-Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck bout, which is also slated for the December 11 card.
