ONE: Masters Of Fate is scheduled to take place this Friday, 8 November, inside the Mall Of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines.

The prelims for ONE: Masters Of Fate will begin at 4:30 am (EST) on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the ONE Super App. The main card will kick off at 7:30 am (EST) on B/R Live.

The 13-bout card will be a predominantly MMA affair with only three ONE Super Series bouts scheduled. While the card may lack the star power of ONE Championship’s more recent events, there are several intriguing matchups that fans will want to pay attention to.

Here is a selection of some of the key bouts worth checking out.

Joshua Pacio’s Strawweight Title Defense

After recapturing the ONE Strawweight World Championship with an impressive knock out of Japan’s Yosuke Saruta in April, Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio will mount the first defense of his new title reign. The 23 year-old will take on compatriot Rene Catalan in the main event of Friday’s card.

The rise of Catalan has been ONE’s Cinderella story of recent years. The 40-year-old started his ONE career with two losses and one No Contest. After a two year break from the promotion, Catalan returned to action in 2016, and since then has accumulated six-straight wins.

A Wushu World Champion, Catalan’s strength lies his standup game. However, the odds are that his fairy tale run will come to an end this week. It is hard to see Catalan breaking down the younger, faster Pacio, who is solid on and off his feet.

One factor in Catalan’s favor is that since the strawweight belt was introduced in 2015, there has only ever been one successful title defense. Pacio will be fighting both Catalan and history when the two square off this week.

Bi Nguyen and Stamp Fairtex Clash In Pivotal Atomweight Bout

Former Survivor contest Bi Nguyen will face the toughest challenge of her career to-date when she steps into the ONE circle on Friday. The 30-year-old Vietnamese American is set to clash with Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex.

Stamp, who trains out of Fairtex Gym, currently holds the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Championships. The 22 year-old is now targeting a third world title and has her sights set on the ONE Atomweight World Championship.

Nguyen’s strength is her standup, but in Stamp, she will be facing the top female striker on ONE’s roster. Nguyen is a tough, gritty fighter, and her best bet would be to test Stamp’s ground game. The Thai has yet to face an MMA adversary as experienced as Nguyen, and there are likely to be holes in her game that Nguyen can exploit.

The stakes are high in this bout as the winner could see themselves closing in on a title shot.

Team Lakay Veterans Looks To Put On A Show For Home Fans

It’s been a tough year for Team Lakay. The famed Baguio City team started 2019 with four ONE World Championss, and that number has now been whittled down to one. This Friday, Eduard Folayang and Geje Eustaquio, two of their former titleholders, will step into the ONE circle looking to raise the spirits of their fervent fanbase.

Former lightweight champion Folayang comes into this bout on the back of two straight losses. The most recent was against Eddie Alveraz, in a fight where Folayang had the upper hand but throw it away afterone poor decision.

The 35 year-old is set to face Mongolia’s Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu, whose most recent bout was a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Shannon Wiratchai in February. This is a fight the Filipino really should win as his experience and skill level should be too much for the Mongolian. A third straight loss would send Folayang crashing out of the title picture.

The same can be said for former flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio, who will face Finland’s Toni Tauru in a rematch of their 2016, encounter. The Finn won that contest with a convincing first-round submission, but that win proved to be false-dawn as since then, Tauru has gone on a run of three straight losses.

On Friday, in front of his home fans, Eustaquio will look to balance the ledger between himself and Tauru.

Main Card:

  • Joshua Pacio (c) vs. Rene Catalan (ONE Strawweight World Championship)
  • Eduard Folayang vs. Tsogookhuu Amarsanaa (mma – lightweight)
  • Sangmanee Sathian MuayThai vs. Azize Hlali (muay thai – bantamweight)
  • Geje Eustaquio vs. Toni Tauru (mma-flyweight)
  • Stamp Fairtext vs. Bi Nguyen (mma-atomweight)
  • Paulus Lumihi vs. Li Kai Wen (mma-bantamweight)

Prelims:

  • Yoshitaka Naito vs. Pongsiri Mitsatit (mma- strawweight)
  • Han Zi Hao vs. Kongsak P.K.Saenchaimuaythaigym (muay thai -bantamweight)
  • Gustavo Eddy Balart vs. Robin Catalan (mma-strawweight)
  • Tukkatatong Petpayathai vs. Hiroaki Suzuki (muay thai – bantamweight)
  • Kim Jae Woong vs.Rafael Nunes (mma- featherweight)
  • Kyu Sung Kim vs. Akihiro Fujisawa (mma-flyweight)
  • Roshan Mainam Luwang vs. Khon Sichan (mma-flyweight)

Thailand’s Stamp Fairtex may only be four fights deep into her ONE Championship career, but the 22-year-old is already shaping up to be one of the promotions future stars.

The Rayong native, who currently trains out of the famed Fairtex Gym, already holds the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Championships and has now set her sights on adding Angela Lee’s atomweight MMA crown to her collection.

After an impressive submission win over ONE debutante Asha Roka back in August, Stamp has been assigned a more difficult task for her second mixed martial arts outing under the ONE banner.

This Friday at ONE: Masters Of Fate, in Manila, Philippines, Stamp will face off against Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen. The Vietnamese- American will be a far savvier adversary for Stamp than Roka, and this bout should be an indicator of were the Thai sits in the atomweight division.

“She seems strong and really aggressive. Her striking is okay; she has speed and power, especially with her hook. But I think my standup is better and more diverse, and I plan to show that when we fight,” Stamp said to LowKick MMA when speaking about Nguyen.

“I feel pressure because people expect a lot from me. I also don’t want to let my team and all my fans down. A lot of people support me, and I’m grateful,” she added.

Stamp has been somewhat of a trailblazer for women’s Muay Thai in Thailand. She took up the sport at age five and soon started making waves on the local scene. Two years ago, she made history by becoming the first female fighter accepted to the Fairtex Fight team.

“At first, it was a little surprising for me, training with all men at Fairtex. I was the only woman there. But now that has changed, and there are more girls. I am very happy.

“There’s another girl on my team who recently started to compete in both Muay Thai and MMA. She’s called ‘Wonder Girl.’ I wish to see more girls compete like this in the future.”

Stamp has won over fans by both her abilities as a fighter but also her affable persona outside of the arena. ONE encourages their athletes to express their individuality during their walks to the ONE circle, and it could be argued that Stamp’s entrances are almost as anticipated as her fights.

The Thai has become known for dancing her way down the runway as though she were heading to a rave as opposed to a fight.

“Dancing has always been in my heart. Whenever I listen to music, instantly start moving to the beat. I don’t really practice the Stamp Dance; I go by heart.”

While Stamp is enjoying the fruits of her success, she never visualized herself, carving a career in the Combat Sports world despite her obvious ability as a child.

“When I was younger, I just focused on being an amateur fighter while I pursued my studies so I could get a good job. But now that I’ve experienced some level of success as a professional athlete, I think I’ll be fighting for many years to come.”

Stamp is still developing as an athlete and is likely years away from reaching her full potential. However, this Friday, she will get the opportunity to get one step closer to claiming another world title for her mantelpiece.

After the epic doubleheader that was ONE: Century, fans could be forgiven for thinking that the Singapore-based promotion could be running short of ammunition for their upcoming cards.

Thankfully the lineup for ONE: Dawn Of Valor is a testament to the depth of talent on the company’s roster.

The 13-bout card is set to go down Friday, 25 October, in Jakarta, Indonesia. A pair of title fights will headline the event while former UFC bantamweight John Linekar will be making his anticipated promotional debut.

However, Linekar won’t be the only fighter making their inaugural walk to the ONE circle on Friday. Former Bellator and WSOF signee Johnny Nunez will also be competing in his first ONE Championship bout.

The prelims for ONE: Dawn Of Valor will begin at 6:00 am (EST) on on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and the ONE Super App. Starting at 9:30 am (EST) the main card will be streamed on B/R Live.

Kadestam Set To Defend Welterweight Strap

Sweeden’s Zebaztian Kadestam has been steadily improving as a fighter since his 2017 second-round loss to former ONE Welterweight World Champion Ben Askren.

The 29-year-old claimed the vacant title after stopping formerly undefeated American Tyler McGuire via a fifth-round TKO last November. In March, he forced Kazakhstan’s Georgy Kichigin to retire after the second round following a brutal elbow that rocked the challenger.

Kadestam will now face Kyrgyzstan’s Kiamrian Abbasov in the main event of ONE: Dawn Of Valor. Abbasov comes into this bout on the back of a three-bout winning streak. The 26-year-old booked his title shot after stopping Japanese MMA veteran Yushin Okami in the second-round back in March.

Kadestam is an aggressive striker who does his best work on his feet. Abbasov is unlikely to want to get into a stand-up war with the Swede and will look to take the fight to the ground where he has the advantage.

Dutch Delight

The co-main event of the card will see a rematch between ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion Regian Eersel and fellow Dutchman Nieky Holzken. The pair first clashed back in May in Singapore at ONE: Enter The Dragon, where Eersel claimed the inaugural title after defeating Holzken via unanimous decision. The bout was far from a one-sided affair as Holzken had early success in the opening rounds, but Eersel came into his own as the contest progressed.

Kickboxing fans would have circled this bout as a must-watch as soon as the matchup was announced. Both men are world-class strikers, and their first encounter was a cracking contest. If high-level striking is what you crave then this is the one bout on the card you can not afford to miss.

The Arrival Of Linekar

There will no doubt be a lot of interest in John Linekar’s ONE debut. The 29-year-old Brazilian has been paired with Tajikistan’s Muin Gafurov.

Gafurov, a world champion sambo fighter, is on a five-bout winning streak, with his last loss coming against Team Lakay’s Kevin Belingon in 2016. The 23-year-old was scheduled to compete at UFC Saint Petersburg until it emerged he was still under contract with ONE.

Linekar is known for his heavy-hands but also his battles with the scales. Under ONE’s unique weight cutting policy, he should hopefully have no issues making weight.

The ONE bantamweight title race is now wide open after Bibiano Fernandes retained his title following a second-straight victory over Kevin Belingon at ONE: Century. A win here for either man could put them in pole position for a shot at the belt.

Main Card:

  • Zebaztian Kadestam (c) vs. Kiamrian Abbasov (ONE Welterweight World Championship)
  • Regian Eersel vs. Nieky Holzken (ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship)
  • Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol vs. Bozhena Antoniyar (mma – women’s atomweight)
  • Federico Roma vs. Wang Junguang (kickboxing -strawweight)
  • John Lineker vs. Muin Gafurov (mma – bantamweight)
  • Eko Roni Saputra vs. Kaji Ebin ( mma – flyweight)

Prelims:

  • Adrian Mattheis vs. Stefer Rahardian (mma – strawweight)
  • Mark Fairtex Abelardo vs. Ayideng Jumayi (mma – bantamweight)
  • Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu vs. Antonio Caruso (mma – lightweight)
  • Rudy Agustian vs. Abro Fernandes (mma – flyweight)
