Current UFC lightweight fighter Paul Kelly certainly isn’t a fan of his upcoming opponent, Jacob Volkmann, disliking his trash talking and his style of fighting. The two are set to get it on at UFC Live on Versus: Jones Vs. Matyushenko which will take place on August 1 from San Diego California, though the bout was originally scheduled for the UFC 116 prelims. Kelly, a british fighter, had visa issues, and so the fight was rescheduled for the free Versus show. Kelly recently let fans know his thoughts on wrestling tactics such as lay and pray:
Volkmann is the sort of fighter that is content to scrape through and get the ‘W’. He’s not that interested in putting on entertaining fights or taking a risk and finishing somebody. I’d sooner lose and be exciting than just grind a boring win out. Even when I have gone the distance and squeaked wins out, the fights have always been exciting wars and I haven’t looked to lay-and-pray at any time. I refuse to lay-and-pray against any man.
