Rebecca Revelle started off her amateur with a perfect 3-0 record. After suffering her first loss earlier this year, Rebecca returned to fight Melissa Stringer on September 24th live from the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO. Healed up from past injuries, Rebecca noted that she was ready to continue her assault on the Woman’s 135lb division. Hell bent on forgetting her first loss, Revelle has been working hard to improve her game in every aspect.
It would be easy for a young and talented 135lb female fighter to say she wants to be the next Ronda Rousey or Meisha Tate. Two dominant forces who have run the weight class for the last 5 years. Not Revelle. She is ready to make a name for herself, her way. “Ya know, I want to create my own legacy. I want to make my own name in this game and be revolutionary. You don’t really do that by mimicking or idolizing anybody else. I am inspired by myself every day and the people around me that I love and want to be successful for. Ya know, saying ‘O, I want to be the next Ronda Rousey’ that’s selling myself short because I want to be Rebeccas Revelle.”
With complete confidence in her game and a clean bill of health, Rebecca Revelle was ready to impress last Saturday. Listen to the full interview to find out what it’s like to be an up and coming female fighter and her other thoughts going into her fight at the Shamrock FC event.
