Russian bantamweight Vyacheslav Svischev flashed some deadly striking accuracy over the weekend at Open FC 19 in Samara, Russia.

Scheduled as the fourth fight of a six-fight main card, Svischev entered the cage opposite Kyrgyzstan’s Belek Aliev.

After the two bantamweights exchanged on the feet early, the southpaw Svischev backed Aliev up with a jab followed by a left straight to the body. The Russian fighter then landed a perfectly timed left uppercut as Aliev ducked in before following up with a left straight to the head as Aliev was falling to the canvas.

The 28-year-old Svischev improves his record to 9-2 with this win. Now on a four-fight win streak, Svischev has finished all four of those opponents via strikes and all of his career victories have come via stoppage.

Svischev’s win was the third of what ended up being four-straight KO/TKO finishes on the Open FC 19 main card. Light heavyweight Vladimir Seliverstov stopped his opponent in less than thirty seconds following Svischev’s victory, and in the heavyweight main event Yuriy Fedorov won a unanimous decision over Shamil Abasov.

What’s your reaction to Vyacheslav Svischev’s knockout?

It was much of the same in round two, with Nascimento getting the early takedown and showing his superiority on the ground.

Davey Grant def. Louis Smolka

In this bantamweight bout, Davey Grant go the KO against Louis Smolka. Grant dominated on the feet in round one, sending Smolka to the canvas with a heavy jab. Smolka however recovered to out land Grant in round two, before taking the Englishman’s back.

But in round three, Grant immobilized Smolka with a calf kick, and when he hit the canvas, the Englishman emphatically finished the job. Catch the highlights below.

Raki? dominated on the ground for most of round two after landing a huge takedown early on. Then just over a minute into round three, Raki?’s knee buckled while he was backing up. Bellator 281: MVP vs. Storley took place on Friday live from the OVO Arena Wembley in London, England, and MMA News has you covered with the results and highlights!

In the second leg of the promotion’s brief European tour, which began with Bellator 280 in Paris, France last Friday, Bellator made the short trip across the channel, where England’s capital played host to an intriguing card.

In the main event, hometown hero Michael “Venom” Page looked to cement his legacy as one of the UK’s best by having gold wrapped around his waist for the first time. However, spoiling the night for MVP and the London crowd was Logan Storley, who grappled his way to a split-decision victory in the main event.

In a notable co-main event, MMA legend and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida returned to action for the first time since April 2021. His drop to middleweight didn’t bring the desired result, with Fabian Edwards sending “The Dragon” on a four-fight losing skid while snapping his own poor run of form in the process. “The Assassin” closed the contest early with a first-round knockout, which he celebrated in the cage with his brother, #2-ranked UFC welterweight Leon Edwards.

Elsewhere on the main card, in a fight that certainly fit the “people’s main event” bill, Paul Daley entered the cage for the 64th and final time. Despite some early wrestling adversity, “Semtex” closed out his career in perhaps the best way possible: a brutal knockout in front of his home crowd. With chants of “Daley” ringing around the OVO arena, Bellator 281 was certainly a fitting culmination of a legendary career.

Check out the Bellator 281 highlights below, followed by the quick results!
