On Wednesday afternoon the UFC announced an upcoming featherweight bout between former WEC champ Mike Brown (24-8) and TUF 12 alumni Nam Phan (16-8) for the upcoming UFC 133 event in Philadelphia. The announcement was made via the promotions Twitter (@UFC) account.

UFC 133 is expected to take place on Aug. 6 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Headlining the event is a light heavyweight bout between former champ Rashad Evans and high rising fighter Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis.
Brown’s career since losing the WEC featherweight title to Jose Aldo has hit a bump in the road, putting together a 2-4 record which includes his title loss. Brown has already made his UFC debut, fighting twice with the promotion in January. He made his promotional debut at UFC 125 on Jan. 1, losing a split decision to Diego Nunes and jumped back in the Octagon three weeks later on Jan. 22 against Rani Yahya. Brown lost the fight to Yahya at the UFC: Fight for the Troops 2 event by unanimous decision.
Phan was a participant on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 12, losing in the semi-finals to Michael Johnson in the extra round. He made his UFC debut at the “TUF 12 Finale” losing a controversial split decision to Leonard Garcia. Both men would earn the “Fight of the Night” bonus, and UFC President Dana White would also award Phan his “win” money despite the loss. Phan also sports a 2-4 record over his last six fights, winning has last pro fight at at local event in LA before joining the “TUF” cast.
