Shark Fights promotions made it’s announcing team for it’s upcoming “Sharkfights 13″ pay-per-view event, which is set for Sept. 11.

A team of three announcers will share duties on the microphone as Bas Rutten, Don Frye, and Ron Kruck will sit ringside for the show.

The commentating team, as the intermediary between the fight action and viewers, is vital to the success of televised mixed martial art events. Understanding the importance of the broadcasters, Shark Fight Promotions has recruited a world-class commentating team. The unique and talented three-man lineup consists of two MMA legends: Bas Rutten and Don Frye, as well as popular HDNet television personality Ron Kruck. This team of entertaining and dynamic personalities will ensure a first-rate experience for fans tuning into the Shark Fights Pay-Per-View broadcast on September 11.

According to Brent Medley, president of Shark Fight Promotions, “We have put together what we refer to as our ‘Commentating Dream Team’ to call the action during our September 11 Pay-Per-View event. It was extremely important to us to secure a credible commentating team that is not only knowledgeable, but also exciting and entertaining to watch. We feel we have accomplished that. Don Frye and Bas Rutten, known for their unpredictable humor and first hand knowledge of the sport, boast a laundry list of impressive career accolades that reach far beyond their legendary fight status. They are both popular and highly respected MMA personalities recognized worldwide . Now, for the first time ever, Rutten and Frye will be a part of the same color commentating team. MMA fans should expect the unexpected, and prepare to be thoroughly entertained.

Bas Rutten has been involved in the fight industry, in some capacity, for more than 20 years. He was the UFC Heavyweight Champion, a three time King of Pancrase, and finished his fight career on a twenty-two-fight win streak. He is also a well-recognized color commentator, accredited actor, television host, coach and entrepreneur. Millions have watched Rutten on television and in major motion pictures such as “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” and “Sinners & Saints”. Most recently, his voice can be heard in MGM’s live-action comedy, “The Zookeeper,” along with the voices of Adam Sandler, Cher, and Sylvester Stallone. Rutten is also a fitness advocate on the Cartoon Network and a popular host on HDNet’s “Inside MMA.” As a coach, he has trained celebrities and some of the top athletes in the world. He also has a popular line of self-defense, training, and fitness videos, and is the creator of one of the most effective mixed martial arts training tools on the market, the Body Action System.

Don Frye, also known as “The Predator,” is considered a pioneer in the sport of mixed martial arts. Along with his collegiate wrestling experience, Frye holds a second degree black belt in Judo, has a professional boxing record, and has fought for the most prestigious fight promotions in the world. Frye is best known for his success in Pride, K-1 and The Ultimate Fighting Championships, but has also added coach, writer, radio personality, color commentator and accredited actor to his long list of impressive accolades. Frye has made appearances on popular television shows such as: “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Miami Vice,” “Law and Order: Criminal Intent” and “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.” He has starred in the major motion picture “Honor” and lent his voice for a children’s film, “The Ant Bully.” Frye’s most recent films include; Rob Schneider’s prison comedy “Big Stan,” “Public Enemies,” and “Salt” featuring Angelina Jolie.

Ron Kruck, also a well-respected personality within the industry, has covered practically every sport imaginable. Major sporting events he has covered beyond MMA include; the Stanley Cup playoffs, Major League Baseball playoffs, NBA playoffs, NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Olympic Trials and the Fiesta and Orange Bowls. Kruck has worked for Mark Cuban’s high-definition network, HDNet, since 2003 and is the lead reporter / news anchor for the popular program “Inside MMA” along with Bas Rutten and host Kenny Rice. Kruck also produces and hosts a weekly segment on the show titled “Kruck’s Korner,” which showcases unique people and stories from the MMA world. Kruck currently spends most of his time reporting from the ring of “HDNet Fights.” In addition to conducting pre- and post-fight interviews, Kruck is known for his informative and insightful play-by-play announcing.

British middleweight striker Paul “Semtex” Daley (24-9-2) vowed to stay busy after his release from the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion just a few months ago.

Daley punched opponent Josh Koscheck after the horn went to sound the end of the third round of their non-title bout at UFC 113 in Montreal, Canada on May 8th. UFC president Dana White was quick to announce the release of “Semtex” from the organization.

Daley, fresh off a victory over Brazilian Daniel Acacio in Australia at the Impact FC 2 – The Uprising: Sydney event, has now signed a one fight deal with the Texas based Shark Fights promotion, he’ll make his debut on September 13th at the “Shark Fights 13″ event in September against an as yet to be named opponent.

It was formally announced today that UFC veteran, Paul “Semtex” Daley, has signed a one-fight deal with Shark Fight Promotions, a fast-rising fight promotion company based out of Amarillo, Texas. It has been confirmed that Daley will fight on the Shark Fights 13 card in September. Daley’s opponent is yet to be determined and will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Words cannot express how elated we are that Paul Daley has agreed to fight for our organization. Daley is arguably one of the best 170-pound fighters in the world.” states Brent Medley, president of Shark Fight Promotions.

Medley went on to say, “We are currently in the process of choosing Daley’s opponent. Several marquee fighters are being considered and a decision will be made very soon. This is shaping up to be an incredible card! Numerous A-list fighters have been confirmed for the Shark Fights 13 roster.”

Shark Fights has already signed former UFC light-heavyweight “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine to the September event, he’ll face Trevor Prangley for the promotions light-heavyweight title. The event also features a bout between Rameau Thierry “The African Assassin” Sokoudjou and Houston “The Assassin” Alexander.

Texas based mixed martial arts fight promotion company, Shark Fight Promotions, confirmed today that Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine and Trevor Prangley will headline Shark Fights 13. This will be Jardine’s first post-UFC challenge since his recent departure from the organization. Jardine will face fellow UFC veteran and current Shark Fights light-heavyweight champion, Trevor Prangley, in a non-title bout. Shark Fights 13 will take place on Saturday, September 11 at the Amarillo Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas.

According to Brent Medley, president of Shark Fight Promotions, “We are very excited that Keith Jardine and Trevor Prangley are fighting for our organization. Jardine had a lot of options, as several promoters were clamoring to sign him, but he chose to fight for us. Prangley is our light heavyweight champion and he always puts on an exciting fight. We feel that Jardine vs.Prangley is a very compelling match up for any organization.”

Keith Jardine (15-8-1) is looking to bounce back after a loss to Matt Hamill at the Ultimate Fighter 11 finale last month in Las Vegas. Jardine, who is best known for fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), plans to defeat Prangley and add another notable win to his record. Jardine has defeated some of the best fighters in the business, including Brandon Vera and former UFC champions Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell.

According to Keith Jardine, “To prove that I’m still a top contender I need to fight for credible organizations andface high caliber opponents. Shark Fights has become a leading promoter over the last two years. The promotion has a huge following.”

Jardine went on to say, “I’ve known Brent Medley for several years, and in my opinion, he is one of the top matchmakers in the industry. When Brent approached me about fighting for Shark Fights and facing Trevor Prangley, I jumped at the opportunity. Prangley has an impressive list of notable wins and has only lost twice over the past three years.”

Prangley (22-6-1) was on a six fight win streak (6 wins, 1 draw) prior to his recent loss to Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce “Live” in Los Angeles. The South African Olympic alternate has fought for some of the top fight organizations in the industry and currently holds the Shark Fight light- heavyweight title. Prangley holds impressive wins over top-notch fighters such as Chael Sonnen, and Travis Lutter.

Prangley is looking forward to stepping into the cage to face Jardine; “I’m looking forward to this fight. I’m ready to step into the cage and redeem myself. I’m not happy with my lackluster performance against Kennedy. I plan to come back strong. Keith is a tough opponent. It’s great to see that Shark Fights is attracting more high-level fighters.
