Strongman-cum-MMA fighter, Mariusz Pudzianowski, has triumphed in a rematch against Sean McCorkle at KSW 24 in his home country of Poland on Saturday night.

Earlier in the summer, the 37-year-old McCorkle beat “Pudzian” by first-round kimura at KSW 23. However, the Polish MMA promotion decided a rematch was immediately in order, and in the sequel, things went the way of the hometown favourite and winner of five World’s Strongest Man titles.

Per MMA Fighting, McCorkle appeared out of shape in the rematch and was gassed minutes into the first round, which he spent mostly on his back with Pudzian on top.

The second round started much the same way, but McCorkle was able to reverse his opponent to end up on top. That move drained his energy, and he refused to answer the bell for the third round, handing Pudzianowski his sixth MMA win in 10 fights.

It should be remembered, however, that most of those wins have been against cans such as Bob Sapp—a man notorious for throwing fightsand Christos Piliafas, a nobody.

Pudzian is one of KSW’s most well-known properties, and the promotion is invested in making him a success. So famous is he, his name should be up in led lights.

This isn’t the first time he was given a rematch straight after a loss, either. In 2011, after losing to British heavyweight James Thompson in May, the pair met again in November at KSW 17. Thompson dominated the match, but the win was initially handed to Pudzian. That precipitated an uproar, and the fight was later overturned into a no-contest due to a judging error.

McCorkle, who fought three times in the UFC between 2010 and 2011, has now lost four of his last five fights. Following his latest loss, he asked for a third fight against Pudzianowski.
