Nicco Montano and Roxanne Modafferi went to war to crown the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s flyweight title holder.

Montano landed a leg kick early. A combination was there for Modafferi. Montano answered with a left hand. Modafferi landed a body kick. They tied up and Montano landed a knee to the body. Montano caught a kick and took her opponent down. Modafferi looked for an armbar, but nothing doing. Modafferi scored a takedown near the end of the round.

Mdoafferi landed a right hand early in the second round and put the pressure on. Montano locked in triangle and rained down elbows. Modafferi survived the round.

Round three was contested on the feet. Modafferi looked to have the edge in the round if you go by statistics. Montano came on strong near the end as both fighters traded leather.

Modafferi looked a bit off balanced by a punch early in the fourth round. Montano landed a leg kick and her strikes began to flow. At this point, Montano was winning the striking battle in the fight. She had a combination that sent Modafferi backing back. Montano took her opponent down. She looked for a knee. Blood poured from the nose of Montano and Modafferi began landing combinations. Montano sensed danger and took Modafferi down after eating a knee.

A combination connected for Montano. Modafferi was taken down. She rained down some ground-and-pound before choosing to stand back up. Modafferi went for her own takedown, but it was reversed and she ended up on her back. An uppercut was there for Montano. Modafferi’s armbar attempt went nowhere. Modafferi once again attacked the arm, but Montano popped her arm free. The fight ended with both fighters slugging it out.

All three judges scored the fight for Montano, who is now the inaugural UFC women’s flyweight champion.

Final Result: Nicco Montano def. Roxanne Modafferi via unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46)

Sean O’Malley earned a hard-fought victory over a tough Terrion Ware.

The co-main event of “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale featured two prospects in the bantamweight division. O’Malley and Ware clashed inside the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ware got things started with a leg kick. O’Malley went for a front kick, followed by a high kick. A hard body kick landed for O’Malley. Ware connected with a right hand. He tied up his opponent. O’Malley was able to break away. A head kick found the mark for O’Malley.

A straight right hand landed for O’Malley. A left hand then found the target. Ware was pushed off following a clinch attempt and ate a left hand.Round one was all O’Malley.

O’Malley got the second round started with a body kick. An uppercut was there for O’Malley. Ware was able to land a right hand. Ware closed the distance and put the pressure on O’Malley. Ware began landing a bevy of shots. O’Malley saw blood trickle down his nose. Ware connected with a right hand as O’Malley faded. A high kick attempt saw O’Malley fall on his back. A spinning backfist was there for O’Malley. O’Malley went for a jumping triangle, but nothing doing. They scrambled at the end of the round.

A spinning back kick connected for O’Malley early in the final frame. He followed it up with a left hand. O’Malley got a second wind in the final round. He kept peppering Ware with shots. Ware kept moving forward and landed some strikes. O’Malley scored a takedown. Ware got up, but he ended up on his back to end the fight.

Final Result: Sean O’Malley def. Terrion Ware via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Lauren Murphy made the most out of another chance under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner.

A women’s flyweight bout kept “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale rolling. Barb Honchak and Murphy traded leather inside the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Honchak landed a right hand. Murphy was able to connected with a short left hand. A solid leg kick was there for Honchak. A right hand was there for Murphy. Both fighters got in some clean strikes near the end of the round.

A clean shot landed for Honchak in the second stanza. Color commentator Daniel Cormier believed Murphy was hurt. With about 30 seconds left in the round, Murphy scored a takedown. The round ended with Honchak in top control.

In the final round, Murphy was able to score a takedown. She was in full guard. Honchak went for an armbar. She switched to a triangle before going back to the armbar. Murphy got out of danger and took the back of her opponent. She held the position until the final horn sounded.

Two of the three judges scored the fight for Murphy, awarded her the split nod.

Final Result: Lauren Murphy def. Barb Honchak via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Gerald Meerschaert put a halt to Eric Spicely’s early success with a thunderous body kick.

Meerschaert vs. Spicely followed up a lackluster bout between DeAnna Bennett and Melinda Fabian on the main card of “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale. The middleweight tilt was held inside the Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A barrage of strikes from Meerschaert got the opening round started. Spicely answered with a takedown. He took the back of his opponent and had both hooks in. Spicely dropped some strikes to try to open up Meerschaert for the choke. Spicely tried getting under the neck, but Meerschaert defended. Spicely wound up on his back near the end of the round.

Spicely ducked under a punch early in round two and went for a takedown. Meerschaert stuffed the attempt. Meerschaert kept landing body kicks. One landed with a thud and Spicely went crashing down. The fight was stopped shortly after.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Friday, December 1st, 2017) will come from in the form of TUF 26 Finale. Headlining the card are Nicco Montano and Roxanne Modafferi, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Christina Marks vs. Montana De La Rosa in a female flyweight bout closes the preliminary card on FOX Sports 1.

Andrew Sanchez vs. Ryan Janes is next in a middleweight bout.

Karine Gevorgyan vs. Rachael Ostovich is next in a female flyweight bout.

Ariel Beck vs. Shana Dobson in a female flyweight bout opens the FOX Sports 1 preliminary bouts.

The only UFC Fight Pass prelims is Gillian Robertson vs. Emily Whitmire in a female flyweight bout. In round 1, Whitmire lands a couple leg kicks but eats a pair of rights. She tries to clinch but Robertson gets out. Robertson with a takedown and back-take after scramble. Whitmire manages to get to a seated position against the fence and turn over into Robertson. Robertson with an armbar for the win.

The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale (also known as The Ultimate Fighter: A New World Champion Finale) is set to take place on Saturday, December 1, 2017 at Park Theater in Paradise, Nevada.

The main card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will be split broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Ultimate Fighter final (to determine the inaugural UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion) between Sijara Eubanks and Nicco Montano will headline this event. Sean O’Malley vs. Terrion Ware will serve as the co-main event.
