In just one week, the highly-anticipated rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will get underway.

The event will be a joint ESPN and FOX-produced pay-per-view (PPV) event, matching up the two best heavyweights in the world. Now, it has been announced that the PPV price will cost buyers $79.99. If you’d like to watch in standard definition, the event will cost you $69.99. This is actually a discounted rate from the pair’s first fight, which cost $84.99.

If you’re watching in the UK, you can view the rematch through BT Sport Box Office for £24.95. That comes out to about $32.50 in the United States. Wilder and Fury fought to a controversial draw back in December of 2018. The fight was largely dominated by Fury, tecnique-wise, however, the only two knockdowns of the fight came from Wilder. The latter of which, arguably, could’ve been ruled a knockout.

Now, the rematch will finally take place from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, February 22. The main card will get underway around 9:00 p.m. ET. Viewers can purchase the PPV through traditional cable and satellite providers, the FOX Sports GO app, or ESPN+.

Fury Wilder

Tyson Fury remains confident of getting the victory over Deontay Wilder in their rematch — however, there is one concern for the Briton.

Fury challenges Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title once again when they collide on February 22 in Las Vegas. It will be Fury’s first fight since suffering a nasty gash above his right eye in his September fight with Otto Wallin.

Luckily for Fury, he was able to go all 12 rounds with Wallin and get the victory despite the cut, which required 47 stitches afterward.

And although a couple of months have passed since that injury, “The Gypsy King” believes there is a risk of it opening up again during the Wilder rematch:

“The eye is doing well,” Fury told Sky Sports recently. “The eye is healed up quite well. Is there any risk? I don’t know because I am not a surgeon.

“I am sure there will be. There is nothing much I can do about that. If it opens up it opens us. It’s out of my control. There is nothing I can do about that eye opening in a fight.”

On the other hand, Wilder has already revealed that he plans on targeting and opening the cut along with a new one as well:

“I will absolutely be using that cut as a target, and I am definitely going to open it up again,” the American said. “I will make sure I open that one up and I’ll make sure I open a new one up too.

“It’s going to be a bloody night for him and all I can say to him is ‘buddy rest up’, you’re going to need it, it’s going to be a long and painful night.”

Hopefully, the cut on the eye remains shut so fans won’t have to witness the highly-anticipated sequel prematurely ending due to a doctor stoppage.

What do you think of Fury’s cut on his eye potentially being a factor in the rematch?

Lineal heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has been talking a lot about a potential mixed martial arts (MMA) career as of late. However, fans may have misinterpreted his aspirations.

Fury has been filmed training MMA with the likes of top-ranked UFC middleweight and fellow Englishman Darren Till. Till had nothing but good things to say about his training session with Fury, who is preparing to challenge Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title next month. A rematch of the pair’s initial fight in December of 2018.

“The Gypsy King” also suggested that he could be training with Conor McGregor next, as he attempts to make more connections in the MMA world. When asked about the possibility of having Fury fight in the UFC, president Dana White sounded somewhat interested, but couldn’t understand why Fury would want to leave the world of boxing, in which he is one of the best heavyweights in the world and making ridiculous money, to pursue a sport that he’d need years to develop in.

Well, in a recent interview with ESPN Radio, Fury cleared some things up regarding his MMA talk. Fury doesn’t want to do full-on MMA; which includes wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and kicks, on top of boxing. Instead, he wants to face whoever the UFC’s heavyweight champion of the world is at the time, inside a cage, in a boxing match with MMA gloves. (H/T Bloody Elbow)

“I don’t want to go into an MMA fight, rolling around the floor and all that, no. But I would fight one of their champions in small gloves,” Fury said. “Maybe in a cage, but with boxing rules. I think that would be very interesting. … With UFC gloves, the little 4-ounce gloves, that would be good for me.”

Fury added that, after his fight with Wilder, he plans on sitting down and discussing business with Dana White to see if they can come to an arrangement on a bout.

”After I beat Deontay Wilder next month, I’m going to have a sit-down with Dana [White] and we’re going to go for it, run some numbers and see if the fight makes sense. Whoever’s available from that side, and whoever’s willing to get their ass kicked in the cage by the heavyweight champion of the world, he’s the one I want.”

Fury could be looking at a lot of opportunities if he makes it past Wilder next month, as there are talks he could take part in WrestleMania with the WWE if he emerges victorious as well. Whatever Fury decides to do next, one thing is for certain. The world will definitely be watching.

Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been talking up a potential move to MMA. The talented boxer got people talking when he was seen hitting mitts with Darren Till. He then went on to claim he had spoken with Conor McGregor and the pair had arranged some type of training together. ‘Notorious’ has now went on record to deny his claims, speaking to BT Sport, he said.

“I know Tyson (Fury) has been talking about it a lot. Tyson keeps saying me and him spoke and I said I’d train him. I’ve never spoken to Tyson in my life, so I don’t know why he’s saying that. It’s not a bad story so I let it roll…Tyson is a good man, a great boxer a phenomenal boxer. Probably the best natural boxer in the heavyweight division at this time. So, you know, who knows? I wouldn’t say he is just saying he’d do it and not do it, like a lot of them do. I say Tyson probably would do it in time, so you never know.”

Whilst the pair have
yet to meet or speak, training with Fury is not something McGregor wouldn’t want
to do. The 31-year-old boxer will be at UFC 246 this weekend and the UFC
superstar says maybe the two will discuss working together.

“Maybe we could set something up. I wouldn’t be holding mitts for him or anything. But if he wanted to be trained by me or educated by me, I’d have to see him in certain positions and situations. I’d need him to spar a heavyweight. I’d need to see him deal with the leg kicks. I’d need to see him in the bottom position. And then I’d assess that and send him off. Tell him what work he needs to do and then off he goes. That could probably be something I could do for Tyson. I found it funny that he was saying we talked. He’s a mad man Tyson. I’ve never spoke to the man in my life.”

Will we ever see Tyson Fury compete inside the UFC octagon?

It doesn’t look like Tyson Fury’s professional wrestling career is over just yet. Fury defeated Braun Strowman at the WWE’s big Saudi Arabia event last year, his first professional wrestling match.

However, according to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, an account who has broken several professional wrestling news stories over the years, Fury is actually being considered for a WrestleMania appearance in April. It all depends on the result of his upcoming rematch with Deontay Wilder in February.

Fury and Wilder will run things back for the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas on February 22. Per the report, Vince McMahon will only make Fury a WrestleMania offer if he wins the fight. He doesn’t see the logic in throwing millions of dollars at a guy for a WrestleMania spot coming off a loss.

“Lots of speculation regarding Tyson Fury & WrestleMania. Source said his fight at MGM Grand vs. Deontay Wilder on February 22 is crucial to him appearing in Tampa. If Wilder wins, Vince isn’t throwing $$ at a guy who just lost on PPV. So to a degree, the ball is in Fury’s court.”

In their first fight, Fury and Wilder fought to a controversial draw in December of 2018. Despite many believing Fury should’ve been given the nod, Wilder retained his title with the draw decision. After a pair of victories from both men since, they’ll run things back in, arguably, the biggest boxing bout of the year.

What do you think about Fury possibly competing at WrestleMania?
