Lineal boxing heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has responded to WBC title holder Deontay Wilder. Last night, Wilder successfully defended his gold last night (Nov. 23) in a rematch. “The Bronze Bomber” knocked out Luis Ortiz in the seventh round. He’s now set for a Feb. 2020 rematch with Fury. During the post-fight press conference, Wilder […]

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has a good idea of what his next two fights will be.
Wilder retained his title following a seventh-round knockout of Luis Ortiz in their rematch last night. It was all the more impressive considering the American was getting outclassed for majority of the fight until he landed a straight right than floored Ortiz with seconds remaining in the round.
He now has his sights set on another rematch with Tyson Fury. The unbeaten heavyweights fought in December last year in what was eventually ruled a controversial split decision draw. However, it now looks like everything is leading to a sequel in February.
After that, Wilder wants to unify the belts with the winner of Andy Ruiz vs. Anthony Joshua:
“Well my next (opponent), of course, we have Tyson Fury in a rematch next,” Wilder said after the fight (via BJ Penn). “When it’s settled, it’s set to be done in February. So we’ll see how that goes.
“And then after that, I’m looking for a unification bout. I want one champion, one face, one name, and he goes by the name of Deontay Wilder. The heavyweight division is too small to have so many belts lingering around. There should be just one champion. It’s too confusing for the fans, you know? And I think I’m the perfect man for that job.”
Wilder had been campaigning for a title unification fight for a while when Joshua was the unified champion. Maybe we could finally see it happen in 2020?
What did you think of Wilder’s performance last night? Do you think he’ll get through Fury?

Lineal boxing heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury recently hinted at a possible move to MMA and competing in the UFC. Video then came out of him sparring with Darren Till. Yet, UFC president, Dana White didn’t seem interested in it as he thought the boxer would get destroyed. Michael Bisping, meanwhile, does not agree with that. […]
There has been a lot of talk about boxing lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury potentially transitioning into mixed martial arts (MMA). “The Gypsy King” has been adamant about wanting to fight in the UFC after he gets all the boxing fights he wants out of the way. He even did a training session with top-ranked […]
Recently, UFC Hall Of Famer Michael Bisping took to his podcast, “Believe You Me,” to offer his take. Bisping actually believes Fury could be successful in MMA with the right matchups. (H/T BJPenn.com)
“Absolutely he could,” Bisping said. “I truly believe that if you matched him up correctly. Cause there is some good wrestlers like Stipe, for one. He outwrestled Ngannou, Ngannou’s been doing MMA longer than Fury so you’d think he’d outwrestle Fury as well.
“That just goes without saying, really. And they’re not gonna give Tyson Fury a title fight right off the bat anyway. But then you’ve got other guys. I mean Cormier’s gonna be done soon.”
Bisping explained he thinks the UFC would slowly ease Fury into the heavyweight elite, giving him favorable matchups early on in a potential run.
“If Tyson Fury was to come over, I’m not gonna say the word ‘groom,’ but they would stagger his matchups and give him logical matchups,” Bisping said. “Listen, look at the UFC. People call it the entertainment era and Fury ties into that perfectly. The guy can talk, he can talk sh*t for days. He’s very, very funny.
“He can put people down, he sings on the microphone. Not only is he the heavyweight champion of the world but he’s massively charismatic. He’s an absolute huge star and if he can come over win a couple of fights and then get a title fight, for the UFC that’s big business. That’d be a massive, massive pay-per-view.”
What do you make of Bisping’s comments on a potential MMA career for Fury?
Tyson Fury continues to add fuel to the fire on a potential mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Fury recently trained with top-ranked UFC middleweight Darren Till. He has caught the attention of UFC heavyweights Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou, Greg Hardy, and more, all of which willing to welcome him to the UFC. “The Gypsy King” […]
“The Gypsy King” had previously teased a training session with UFC star Conor McGregor. Speaking to RTE Radio 1, Fury doubled down on the claim, saying he plans on linking up with the Irishman soon.
“I’m looking forward to coming to train with Conor. We’re going to get it all planned in and I should be over in Dublin quite soon,” Fury said. “I think Conor is an absolutely fantastic fighting man. He has offered to train me if I ever want to go into MMA.
“What better trainer could I have than the Notorious Conor McGregor? I’m looking forward to coming to train with Conor. We’re going to get it all planned in and I should be over in Dublin quite soon.
Fury then suggested he fully intends to transition into MMA once his boxing career has come to a stop.
“I’ll definitely be coming over for a training session, that is for sure. I have been MMA training in the last week with Darren Till in Liverpool,” Fury said.
“I really enjoy the new challenge. I don’t know where or when [I’ll move into MMA] because after I finish my boxing career I fancy my hand at MMA as well.”
Do you think McGregor is the right choice to train Fury for a career in MMA?

There has been a lot of interest from many of the UFC’s heavyweights in fighting Tyson Fury. Fury, the lineal heavyweight champion in boxing, has teased a crossover to mixed martial arts (MMA).
“The Gypsy King” even recently underwent a training session with top-ranked middleweight Darren Till. However, Fury was recently asked about potentially boxing UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, who has expressed interest in stepping into the ring with Fury.
Speaking in an interview recently, Fury said he’s down to box the UFC heavyweight champion, saying it could be a big crossover fight similar to that of Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor.
“Stipe says he wants to box me, that would be a good fight for sure. After I get Wilder out of the way I’ll fight Stipe in a boxing match if he wants it,” Fury said.
“It would be a big crossover fight like Mayweather and McGregor. I’m open to that fight so he should come and see me. It would be the same outcome for any of them, they’ll all get smashed.”
