The UFC 274 bonuses are in after the pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona this Saturday night (May 7, 2022).

First, welterweight contender Andre Fialho took home Performance Of The Night honors for his knockout win over Cameron VanCamp. Fialho was able to put VanCamp away just over two minutes into the first round. He’ll take home an extra $50,000 for his efforts.

Next up, the preliminary flyweight contest between Brandon Royval and Matt Schnell was announced for Fight Of The Night honors. Royval and Schnell only shared the Octagon for just over two minutes. When it was all said and done, Royval got his hand raised after a guillotine submission.

Despite there only being one winner in the bout, both men will be taking home an extra $50,000. And finally, the second Performance Of The Night bonus will be taken home by none other than Michael Chandler.

Chandler shook the mixed martial arts (MMA) world to it’s core with his second-round front kick knockout of Tony Ferguson. “Iron” will get an extra $50,000 bonus for his historic knockout, and will likely be one-half of a highlight reel that will be replayed for years to come in the sport.

Charles Oliveira may no longer be champ, but he proved why he’s the best lightweight in the world at UFC 274 tonight.

It took just over three minutes for Oliveira to submit Justin Gaethje in their championship bout, marking a positive end to the most disastrous week of his career. The 32-year-old had been stripped of his lightweight title before the fight for missing weight, so after tonight’s win, he’s now the division’s No. 1 contender.

It was a frenetic, back-and-forth fight while it lasted. Oliveira rocked Gaethje early before the American returned the favor, sending Oliveira to the canvas. But soon after, the Brazilian took Gaethje’s back, landed some wicked elbows, attempted a triangle choke, and when that didn’t work, sunk in a rear-naked choke to get the win.

Oliveira has now won his last 11 fights, and only one of those has gone the distance. His submission of Gaethje was the sixteenth of his UFC career, and his nineteenth finish—extending his lead in the promotion’s record books. Like Michael Chandler earlier in the night, the Brazilian called out Conor McGregor during his post-fight interview.

You can catch all the highlights of the main event below.

This was Oliveira’s eleventh consecutive win.

Now, let’s see how fighters reacted to Oliveira’s victory over Gaethje at UFC 274.

Carla Esparza regained her women’s strawweight title in what was an absolute fizzer against Rose Namajunas at UFC 274 this evening.

Both fighters, who were regularly booed throughout the encounter, now hold the dubious honor of having participated in perhaps the most boring fight in UFC history. Esparza edged out a split decision victory in the end, however it could have gone either way given the inactivity of both fighters.

The biggest and perhaps only highlight of the fight came in round four, when Esparza almost took Namajunas’ back. The 34-year-old also landed a few ineffectual takedowns throughout the fight, which ultimately swayed the judges to hand her the victory. It was the sixth successive win for Esparza, who now holds the strawweight belt that she lost to Joanna J?drzejczyk in 2014.

You can catch some of the footage from the co-main event below.

Now, let’s see how fighters reacted to Esparza’s victory over Namajunas at UFC 274.

The Drake curse lives on under the UFC banner.

Earlier tonight, the rap star placed a $427,000 bet on Justin Gaethje to win the UFC 274 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this weekend (Sun, May 7, 2020). Gaethje challenged Charles Oliveira for the vacant 155-pound championship.

Drake took to Instagram to show off his bet, which would’ve won him $1 million had Gaethje came out on top.

However, when it was all said and done from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Oliveira pulled off another first-round submission. Gaethje did have some success early on, knocking Oliveira down a few times and getting some big shots in. But the Brazilian rallied late, putting Gaethje down and locking up the rear-naked choke.

The dreaded “Drake Curse” continues, as the fighters Drake tends to throw his support behind usually end up losing. This has been the same for fighters such as Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor in the past. Drake was a big supporter of McGregor ahead of his 2017 boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mayweather ended up finishing the Irishman in that bout. Drake also placed a $250,000 bet on Masvidal to beat Colby Covington at UFC 272. Of course, Covington ended up taking home a lopsided unanimous decision win.

With all that being said, whoever Drake decides to throw his support behind next, that fighter better take extra precautions when they step into the Octagon – as it’s not exactly the advocacy you want before a big fight given the history.

The UFC lightweight title remains vacant following the culmination of tonight’s UFC 274 headliner, with now-former champion, Charles Oliveira submitting former interim titleholder, Justin Gaethje with an opening round rear-naked choke to close out tonight’s Phoenix, Arizona event.

Officially vacating the undisputed lightweight championship upon the start of tonight’s main event following a failed weigh-in at championship weight on Friday, Charles Oliveira managed to survive a pair of knockdowns from challenger, Gaethje — once via a stiff right uppercut, and then a massive, winging right hook.

Managing to rally once more during is lightweight run, Oliveira dropped Gaethje with a heavy straight right of his own, and immediately attempted to setup either an armbar or triangle from the back of the challenger.

Eventually taking his back again during a scramble, Oliveira sunk in a rear-naked choke after Gaethje admirably hand fought, but the Sao Paulo grappling expert adjusted his grip, and managed to force the tap before Gaethje fell unconscious.

Following his victory, Oliveira, who was confirmed as to fight for the vacant lightweight title by the promotion following his weigh-in mishap should he defeat Gaethje, insisted that he did not care who he faced for the championship, however, called out former two-weight gold holder, Conor McGregor.

Below, catch the highlights from Charles Oliveira’s submission victory against Justin Gaethje
