Streaking UFC bantamweight contender, Ricky Simon has claimed that a potential showdown against fellow division standout, Sean O’Malley has continued to allude him – speculating that it’s due to the wrestling threat he presents to the Montana native.

Ricky Simon is set to return in July against fellow bantamweight chaser, Jack Shore

Simon, the current #12 ranked bantamweight contender, is slated to feature at UFC on ABC 3 in July in a high-profile Long Island matchup against Jack Shore, attempting to land his fifth consecutive victory in just over two years’ time.

In his most recent victory, Simon managed to stop Brazilian veteran, Raphael Assuncao with a brisk combination of strikes at UFC Vegas 45 back in December.

Set to draw the aforenoted Welsh favorite, Shore in Elmont, Simon touched on the subject of a potential future matchup with O’Malley – as well as why a pairing between the two had so far yet to come to fruition, despite constant links.

“You know why, you know why,” Ricky Simon told LowKick MMA reporter,  Nikhil Sharma regarding the fact a bout with O’Malley had yet to transpire. “He (Sean O’Malley) doesn’t want to deal with the wrestling – he doesn’t want to deal with that wrestling, his skinny body couldn’t handle the power doubles, for sure.”

“And, I think he knows Pedro (Munhoz) will be more comfortable standing with him for longer periods of time,” Ricky Simon said. “He won’t give him that wrestling, look, I’m just such a bad matchup for him at this stage of his career that he’s just not gonna take the fight, which is – alright, if you want to play your way to the title, that’s all you, good on you. Don’t be saying my name and act like you wanna fight me, and not fight me, ‘cause that p*sses me off. I’m all about it. I think I’m the best in the world at this point. … Don’t be talking and acting like you’re something, when you’re not.”

While Simon gears up for his July return against Shore, Dana White’s Contender Series alum, O’Malley is slated to feature opposite Pedro Munhoz at UFC 272 on July 2. during International Fight Week.

Former Cage Warriors welterweight champion Ian Garry will make his third UFC appearance at UFC 276 against Gabe Green.

Green’s management, Iridium Sports Agency, was among the first to report the news of the fight with Garry.

Garry has passed his first two UFC tests since making the move from Cage Warriors last year. He won his debut over Jordan Williams at UFC 268 before earning a unanimous decision win over Darian Weeks at UFC 273.

Garry will make the quick turnaround and fight Green on July 2 at UFC 276, which caps off the UFC’s International Fight Week festivities.

Green presents another tough challenge for Garry, having won back-to-back fights since a UFC debut loss to Daniel Rodriguez. He earned a unanimous decision win over Phil Rowe at UFC 258 before finishing Yohan Lainesse back in April.

Before getting his shot in the UFC, Green enjoyed brief stints with promotions such as Bellator and Combate. Despite a submission win over Chris Padilla at Bellator 192, the promotion opted not to re-sign him.

The 24-year-old Garry could move one step closer to a potential spot in the welterweight rankings with a win. As for Green, he’s looking to hand Garry his first professional loss and make a name for himself on a big stage.

What is your early prediction for Ian Garry vs. Gabe Green?

A welterweight division matchup between the undefeated prospect, Ian Garry, and three-fight Octagon veteran, Gabriel Green has been added to UFC 276 on July 2. during International Fight Week from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Scoping out his third successful UFC walk, Portmarnock native, Ian Garry featured at UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Florida in April of this year, defeating Darian Weeks over the course of three rounds with a unanimous decision victory.

Ian Garry currently owns a 9-0 undefeated record

For Green, the 29-year-old San Pedro native managed to land his second UFC victory back in April at UFC Vegas 53, stopping Yohan Lainesse with a second round knockout. Green’s management firm, Iridium Sports confirmed the pairing on their official Twitter account.

“Our man @giftedgabegreen (Gabriel Green) goes for his 2nd straight @ufc victory vs. Ian Garry on July 2. #TheDarkside.”

Making his UFC debut back in November at Madison Square Garden in New York, Garry featured on the preliminary card of UFC 268, stopping promotional alum, Jordan WIlliams with an impressive, buzzer-beating first round knockout win.

A former Cage Warriors welterweight champion, Garry, 24, boasts an undefeated 9-0 professional record, and managed to defeat Jack Grant in June of last year to earn his long-awaited move to the UFC.

Ahead of his Octagon debut against WIlliams, Garry moved to Deerfiled Beach, Florida – and currently plys his trade under the tutelage of Henri Hooft at Sanford MMA in ‘The Sunshine State’.

Making his UFC bow against Daniel Rodriguez back in May 2020, Green suffered a unanimous decision loss, before getting off the mark under the Dana White-led banner with a unanimous decision win of his own opposite Philip Rowe before his knockout success against Lainesse in April.

Rockhold Gives Cannonier A 20% Chance Of Beating Adesanya

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold has given a less-than-optimistic view of Jared Cannonier’s chances against reigning king Israel Adesanya. After testing his Octagon skills and recording knockouts at both heavyweight and light heavyweight, Cannonier has found a home at 155 pounds. In his six appearances in the division, “The Killa Gorilla” has gone 5-1,…

In his six appearances in the division, “The Killa Gorilla” has gone 5-1, with his sole loss coming against former champion Robert Whittaker in 2020.

Now, having rebounded with a main event victory over Kelvin Gastelum and a brutal ground-and-pound KO of Derek Brunson earlier this year, Cannonier has risen to #2 on the middleweight ladder and set his sights on Adesanya, whom he’ll look to dethrone at UFC 276 on July 2.

Despite being regarded as a heavy underdog, Cannonier has given a confident assessment of his preparation, and suggested that he’ll force the champion to change his approach when they share the cage this summer.

But one former titleholder isn’t buying it.

During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, Rockhold, who sat on the middleweight throne in late 2015 after getting the better of Chris Weidman, gave Cannonier just a 20% chance of adding the first blemish to Adesanya’s 185-pound record in the UFC 276 headliner.

“Cannonier’s got a 20% chance. He’s got a puncher’s chance,” said Rockhold. “Israel’s so long and effective, how he gets out of the way of a power-puncher like that. I don’t know, I don’t see it. He fights from so many angles. It’s gonna be tough for Cannonier to get through the power kicks, takedowns, or whatever he’s gonna try to do. You never know though, he’s a tough dude.”

Having defended his title four times against Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, and Whittaker, Adesanya will be looking to extend his run of dominance by adding Cannonier to his résumé on July 2.

Should he accomplish that feat, perhaps a bout with Rockhold will be in his future. The Californian is preparing for his return against top-five contender Paulo Costa and has expressed his desire to return to the middleweight mountaintop.

Do you agree with Luke Rockhold’s assessment of Jared Cannonier’s title chances?

Ahead of his upcoming UFC 276 headliner on July 2. during International Fight Week, reigning middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya has shed some light on a brutal training regime as he prepares for his fifth attempted title defense – drawing the #2 ranked contender, Jared Cannonier.

Israel Adesanya, a staple of prominent outfit, City Kickboxing, under the tutelage of head coach, Eugene Bareman, is set for his second Octagon appearance of the year – following a successful title knockback against two-time opponent, Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 271 in February.

The victory came as Adesanya’s fourth successful defense of his undisputed middleweight crowns, having previously handed losses to the trio of Marvin Vettori, Paulo Costa, and promotional alum, Yoel Romero.

Sharing an insight into his preparations and priming for his T-Mobile Arena appearance next month, Adesanya posted the first episode of his training camp detail on his official YouTube channel.

Attacking the assault bike with City Kickboxing teammates in tandem, the Nigerian-Kiwi then utilized the heavy bags at the facility, before drilling a series of knee strikes as well as takedown defense.

Joined in camp by the likes of UFC features, Carlos Ulberg, Brad Riddell, Shane Young, and incoming interim flyweight title challenger, Kai Kara-France – Israel Adesanya also shared footage of himself preparing for a real estate investment, in the form of a massive mansion which is set for upcoming construction – with the help of his father, whom Adesanya gifted a matching Rolex watch.

Returning to the Bareman led facility, Adesanya and co practised suplex takedowns on a crash mat as well as takedown setups, lifts, and carries, as well as consistent takedown defense drills – with his family onlooking from the ring apron.

Jared Cannonier shared the aforenoted UFC 271 card with Israel Adesanya

Earning his title shot against Adesanya off the back of a pair of impressive victories, Texan standout, Cannonier defeated common-foes, Kelvin Gastelum, as well as Derek Brunson – the most recent of which at UFC 271 in February, courtesy of a series of brutal second round ground elbows.

UFC middleweight contender, Sean Strickland has claimed former division champion and once-scheduled opponent, Luke Rockhold is suffering from “severe brain damage” amid recent comments made by the latter regarding Strickland’s apparent defense of paedophilia.

Strickland, the current #4 ranked middleweight contender, was scheduled to share the Octagon with former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion, Rockhold back in November at UFC 268 in a main card clash at Madison Square Garden, however, the latter was forced from the bout due to a back injury.

Slated to return on July 2. at UFC 276 during International Fight Week, the North Carolina striker is booked to fight former two-weight GLORY Kickboxing champion, Alex Pereira in a potential title-eliminator at 185lbs.

For Rockhold, the Santa Cruz veteran has been sidelined since the summer of 2019, where he dropped a second round knockout loss against former division titleholder, Jan Blachowicz.

Booked to return at UFC 278 on August 20. in Salt Lake City, Rockhold returns in a high-stakes matchup against one-time middleweight title challenger, Paulo Costa.

Speaking on his dislike for his fellow contender, Stickland during a sit-down interview with former two-weight UFC champion, and teammate, Daniel Cormier – Rockhold claimed Strickland needed to be written off and supported paedophiles.

“I mean, he’s (Sean Strickland) out there supporting paedophiles,” Luke Rockhold. (He’s a) piece of crap. The guy needs to be written off.”

Sean Strickland speculates Luke Rockhold may be suffering from CTE

Reacting to Rockhold’s comments, Strickland, who recently saw his Twitter account suspended following continued flagrant tweets aimed at minorities and the transgender community, claimed that the former champion is likely suffering from “severe brain damage” following recent knockout losses.

“How much brain damage has this man taken?” Sean Strickland said of Luke Rockhold on his official Instagram story. “So whenever Luke Rockhold first started running his mouth about me, it made me upset, because a lot of what he was saying was untrue. We trained, I almost knocked him out, there were witnesses. And this whole supporting paedophiles thing – he’s almost like detached from reality.”

“Then I’m starting to realize the guy is 40-years-old and he’s been knocked out how many times?” Sean Strickland said. “I mean, viciously knocked out. Probably has severe brain damage, maybe some CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) I don’t know, man. Maybe it’s time to hang up the gloves for good.”
