Just a week removed from his blistering first round knockout loss to incumbent light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira at UFC 300, former division titleholder, Jamahal Hill is already set for his Octagon return – taking on the streaking striking contender, Khalil Rountree at UFC 303 in June during International Fight Week.

Hill, who slipped to number three in the official light heavyweight rankings off the back of his second loss under the promotion’s banner, headlined UFC 300 in a title offing against Pereira, dropping a one-sided first round knockout loss.

News of Jamahal Hill’s quickfire return against Khalil Rountree on June 29. was officially confirmed on the UFC’s official X account.

Jamahal Hill books UFC 303 return against Khalil Rountree

“Another banger coming to International Fight Week,” UFC posted. “@JamahalH vs. @KhalilRountree is locked in for #UFC303.”

Returning against Pereira for the first time since he ruptured his achilles tendon last summer, Hill became the first fighter produced from Dana White’s Contender Series to land Octagon spoils, with a unanimous decision win over former champion, Glover Teixeira in January of last year in Brazil.

In the midst of an impressive five fight winning rise, Rountree, 34, had turned in devastating and violent knockout victories over Modestas Bukauskas, Karl Roberson, and Dustin Jacoby before his finish of Nerbraska veteran, Smith at the end of last year.

Jamahal Hill counts money after KO loss to Alex Pereira hits out at critics wait until I fight him again

Off the back of his stunning first round knockout loss to incumbent light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira at UFC 300 last weekend, former champion, Jamahal Hill has claimed his one-sided loss was far from an “a*s whopping” vowing to rematch the Brazilian in the future.

Hill, a former undisputed light heavyweight titleholder and the first Dana White’s Contender Series product to strike Octagon spoils, headlined UFC 300 over the course of last weekend in his first outing since rupturing his achilles tendon last summer.

Suffering just his second promotional loss, Illinois native, Hill suffered a devastating knockout loss to two-weight champion, Pereira, failing to mount any significant offense en route to a definitive stoppage loss.

Releasing a brief statement off the back of his defeat, Hill claimed that if “anybody” cared, he was fine after the loss, before calling for a title-eliminator return against fellow former gold holder, Jiri Prochazka.

“I dared to be great against adversity and against a great challenge and came up short at the highest level in the world,” Jamahal Hill posted on is official X account. “I answered the call twice on short-notice to fight for a championship that most will never fight for. On to the next @jiri_bjp least [sic] final [sic] make it happen.”

“To the people that support me I’m good don’t let haters get to you,” Jamahal Hill explained. “I’m winning in life so having to eat a lose [sic] like a man is what it is. They will be quite [sic] when the next man drops.”

Jamahal Hill vows to fight Alex Pereira again

And on his social media today, Hill argued with critics after his loss to Brazilian – denying he suffered a one-sided loss, before issuing a warning to the Sao Paulo native that he will be fighting him in the future once more.

Himself springing a viral knockout mocking Hill after his defeat, Pereira claimed his repeated gesturing to the fallen contender was the least he could do to the challenger – who goaded him during fight week with promises of his own dominant win.

Max Holloway shows off damage from leg kicks week after Justin Gaethje fight He hits like a Mack truck

Max Holloway took quite a few leg kicks from Justin Gaethje during their BMF title fight at UFC 300.

Holloway scored an incredible fifth-round knockout win over Gaethje to become the BMF champion. It was an incredible win from Holloway, but he did take some nasty leg kicks, and during the fight a welt started to show.

Max Holloway mocks Ilia Topuria's demands for potential title fight: 'That’s kind of un-BMF'

Following the win, Holloway was on his Kick live stream and showed off some of the damage he took from the leg kicks.

His leg was still swelled up from the kicks, showing how serious the leg kicks were, but Holloway powered through the leg kicks through the fight to get the knockout win.

Max Holloway eyes featherweight title shot

With Max Holloway becoming the BMF champion, the plan for the Hawaiian is to return to featherweight to fight Ilia Topuria for the title.

Even before Holloway won the BMF belt, he and Topuria had been trading shots at one another, and that has only increased since then.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Max Holloway says he wants Ilia Topuria next time out and hopes it does happen.

“That was always my main goal. My main goal was always fighting Ilia,” Holloway said. “This was a fun fight. Shout out to Justin Gaethje. Justin Gaethje’s a legend, ‘The Highlight,’ he had everything to lose. He gave me the shot and this happened. But in my mind it was always, no matter what, win, lose, whatever it is, even until today, I wanted to fight Ilia.

“People always ask me, ‘What are your thoughts on Ilia?’ The only thing that comes to my mind is it’s questionable. The dude is super questionable. Every other 145 contender that they wanted to fight [Alexander Volkanovski], they went through me. They fought me or they had to fight me. That’s one guy that eluded me. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but he did and he got the title shot,” Holloway added.

Currently, the fight between Holloway and Topuria has not been booked, but both men are calling for the bout to happen next.

Rejected! Jiri Prochazka declines Jamahal Hill’s post-UFC 300 callout: ‘I’d like to fight for the title’

Jiri Prochazka has no interest in a fight with Jamahal Hill.

Following his big win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300, Prochazka moved into the No. 1 spot in the light heavyweight rankings — though Jamahal Hill deserves some of the credit for that. ‘Sweet Dreams’ was the division’s top-ranked-contender before suffering a brutal first-round knockout at the hands of reigning 205-pound king Alex Pereira in the landmark event’s headliner.

Alex Pereira KOs Jamahal Hill

Since then, Hill laid down a proposal to Jiri Prochazka, challenging the Czech to a fight for the right to rematch ‘Poatan’ later this year.

Jamahal Hill challenges Jiri Prochazka

Responding to the former champ’s request during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Prochazka declined the offer. Instead, ‘BJP’ would prefer to jump right into the Octagon with Pereira — even if it means riding into enemy territory on two weeks’ notice.

“I like to fight for the title,” Prochazka said. “Especially after the decision in New York. The fact I won the fight last Saturday, that’s the only thing I feel right now. That’s what my management is working on. I am [confident]. As soon as possible. If that will be for the title with Alex, I am open to take the date in Brazil, like in two weeks. If there will be another date, let’s see.”

Jiri Prochazka may have to get in line behind Magomed Ankalaev

Prochazka came up short against Alex Pereira in their inaugural meeting in November at MSG for the vacant light heavyweight title. With the win over Rakic, ‘BJP’ certainly has a case for the rematch, but he may have to get in line as Russian standout Magomed Ankalaev appears to be the defacto next man in line for the Brazilian powerhouse.

Magomed Ankalaev

Ankalaev is currently sitting on a 10-fight win streak, with knockouts against Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith and Johnny Walker. In between those two performances came a split draw against ex-titleholder Jan Blachowicz at UFC 282.

With things a bit cluttered at the top of the light heavyweight division, Pereira’s next opponent is not exactly clear. Perhaps Dana White and Co. can work that out while ‘Poatan’ makes a pit stop to bag a third UFC title?

Tom Aspinall confirms return fight at UFC 304 in Manchester I'll be announcing it soon

UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall confirms he will fight on next UK PPV card later this Summer.

Despite Jon Jones reigning as the UFC’s current undisputed heavyweight title holder, a strong argument could be made that is Aspinall who is the best big man in the world. The Brit would capture the interim title in November of last year, stopping the then No.1 ranked Sergei Pavlovich with a vicious flurry of punches in just over a minute.

With the division currently being held up with the cancellation of Jon Jones – Stipe Miocic and the subsequent lack of rebooking, Tom Aspinall would have to wait a lengthy amount of time for his shot at undisputed. Unless of course he were to take a fight in the meantime and defend his interim title.

Since his win over Pavlovich, Aspinall has been adamant that he wants to keep busy and in his latest post to social media announced he had got his wish. Aspinall would also confirm that the fight will take place on home soil in what will be the UFC’s return to the UK.

“I had a meeting with the UFC, it has now been confirmed that I am fighting on UFC Manchester, so I’m back home preparing for that now, started the early stages of training camp,” Tom Aspinall said.

“Just waiting for my opponent to accept so stay tuned and I’ll be announcing it soon.”

A likely candidate for Aspinall’s opponent would be former foe Curtis Blaydes. The two squared off in July 2022 but unfortunately Aspinall would suffer a torn ACL and the fight would come to a close after just 15 seconds.

Manager reveals why Alex Pereira won't fight at UFC 301 He has to let the dust settle

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira won’t be fighting in Brazil at UFC 301 after all.

Pereira scored a first-round knockout win over Jamahal Hill in the main event of UFC 300. With Pereira not taking much damage, he called to fight in a few weeks at UFC 301. However, Pereira’s manager, Jorge Guimarães spoke on MMA Fighting’s Trocação Franca podcast and explained why he won’t be fighting on the card.

“That won’t happen, no way, especially now that he has another broken toe,” Guimarães said of Pereira fighting on May 4 in Rio de Janeiro. “He has to go to the shipyard and let the dust settle and celebrate the victory. Maybe [go to Brazil] to watch the event, but no fights for him.”

Alex Pereira not fighting at UFC 301 is a bit disappointing for fans, but due to the broken toe, he will be taking time off and making sure he’s healthy for his next title defense.

Manager Doesn’t Think Alex Pereira – Tom Aspinall fight is next

Since Alex Pereira became the light heavyweight champion, he has hinted at a future move to heavyweight.

Tom Aspinall has shown some interest in facing Alex Pereira in the future, but the Brazilian’s manager doesn’t think the fight makes sense for Aspinall.

“I don’t think [fighting Pereira] is a good idea for Aspinall at this moment,” Guimarães said. “We have to see what’s going to happen. I think it’s still too premature. Aspinall is the interim champion, why would he risk fighting ‘Poatan’? I don’t think it makes much sense [for Aspinall], I don’t think it’s a good idea [for Aspinall]. For us, it is [a good idea].”

Ultimately, the plan for Pereira is to defend his light heavyweight title next, but his manager isn’t ruling out a fight at heavyweight in the future.

“He has the desire, and I’ll tell you this, he’s going to do an incredible job at heavyweight,” Guimarães said. “He’s a super tough fight for anyone in the heavyweight division as well. He’s hungry to fight. He says his time is running out, and he wants to achieve the most he can. He’s extremely confident, and I think he would shine at heavyweight. Let’s see what the UFC has on the table for us, but he won’t be fighting in Rio de Janeiro.”
