Just a week removed from his blistering first round knockout loss to incumbent light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira at UFC 300, former division titleholder, Jamahal Hill is already set for his Octagon return – taking on the streaking striking contender, Khalil Rountree at UFC 303 in June during International Fight Week.

Hill, who slipped to number three in the official light heavyweight rankings off the back of his second loss under the promotion’s banner, headlined UFC 300 in a title offing against Pereira, dropping a one-sided first round knockout loss.

“Another banger coming to International Fight Week,” UFC posted. “@JamahalH vs. @KhalilRountree is locked in for #UFC303.”

Returning against Pereira for the first time since he ruptured his achilles tendon last summer, Hill became the first fighter produced from Dana White’s Contender Series to land Octagon spoils, with a unanimous decision win over former champion, Glover Teixeira in January of last year in Brazil.

In the midst of an impressive five fight winning rise, Rountree, 34, had turned in devastating and violent knockout victories over Modestas Bukauskas, Karl Roberson, and Dustin Jacoby before his finish of Nerbraska veteran, Smith at the end of last year.

Michael Chandler reveals his plans for Conor McGregor's 'hurt leg' in their UFC 303 showdown

When it comes to his long-awaited scrap with Conor McGregor, ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler is more focused on his strengths than the Irishman’s weaknesses. Specifically, the busted leg McGregor suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier nearly three years ago.

On Saturday, June 29, Chandler and McGregor will finally step inside the Octagon, bringing an end to a build-up that dominated headlines for well over a year. It will be the former two-division titleholder’s first time competing since snapping his limb in the opening round against ‘The Diamond’ at UFC 264.

Coming back from an injury of that nature is no easy task — just ask Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.

Fortunately, ‘Mystic Mac’ won’t have to worry about Michael Chandler intentionally targeting his surgically repaired tibia and fibula when they meet in ‘Sin City’ later this year.

“His ‘hurt leg’, if you would, going after it, it’s his back leg,” Chandler told The MMA Hour. “So me focusing on anything other than just being me and focusing on my strengths, which is always punches in bunches. Big punches, punches to the head, punches to the body, pick them up, put them down, kind of in your face, foot on the gas type of Michael Chandler style.

“It would be silly for me to think about anything more than that. Any time you can mess up a guy’s foundations, it’s good for you. Changes their movement, messes up the power in their punches, but I don’t see myself throwing a lot of leg kicks in this fight. So, haven’t really thought about it that much.”

Michael Chandler predicts an early night for Conor McGregor at UFC 303

As for how Chandler sees things playing out against Conor McGregor, the former Bellator MMA champion plans to make the Irishman feel as uncomfortable as possible in the first round before putting him away in the second stanza.

“My ‘Mystic Mike’ prediction is I finish him in the second round,” Chandler said on Instagram. “Get him on his heels in the first round, make him second-guess himself in the first round, make him realize, ‘Dang, I probably should have just stayed rich and stayed out of the fight game.’

And I will start planting those seeds of doubts in the first round. By the end of the first round he will go back to his bench and go back to his corner huffing and puffing and realize that he’s about to meet his demise.”

Last competing in November 2022, Chandler carries a 2-3 record under the UFC banner, sporting wins over Dan Hooker and Tony Ferguson while facing a handful of losses against some of the lightweight division’s top dogs — Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier.

While it’s been nearly two years since Chandler’s last victory, McGregor will be seeking his first W since a 40-second shellacking of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 246 all the way back in 2020.

Returning to training at his home in County Kildare, former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor is preparing for his return to the Octagon in June at UFC 303, as he takes on Michael Chandler, but was sprung with a random drug test ahead of his return – as well as taking time to get a fresh haircut ahead of training.

McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight champion and featherweight titleholder under the banner of the promotion, finally received official confirmation of his long-anticipated return over the course of last weekend.

Conor McGregor warned leg injury will haunt him psychologically in UFC return this summer

Calling his shot for a comeback during International Fight Week at the end of June, McGregor is officially set to headline UFC 303 against Missouri native, Chandler, with the pair taking the stage at the welterweight limit.

Training alongside PFL (Professional Fighters League) feature Pedro Carvalho at Straight Blast Gym last week before the announcement of his own return, McGregor, who has setup his own home gym base on his property in Straffen – was the subject of an anti-doping test by Drug Free Sport International ahead of his UFC return, posting pictures of him training – as well as receiving a home haircut on his official Instagram account

Sidelined since 2021, McGregor most recently headlined UFC 264 in a trilogy rubber match against common-foe, Dustin Poirier, suffering a first round TKO loss via doctor’s stoppage after he fractured his left tibia and fibula at the end of the first frame.

Max Holloway would like to face Conor McGregor, not Ilia Topuria next time out if he had his wish.

Holloway became the BMF champion on Saturday with a highlight-reel fifth-round KO over Justin Gaethje as the Hawaiian moved back up to lightweight. It was an incredible performance from Max Holloway, and after the win, many thought he would be dropping back down to featherweight to face Topuria for the belt.

However, Holloway says he’d rather rematch McGregor than face Topuria for the featherweight title as he knows it’s a much bigger fight.

“It’d be hard not to say whith them finally announcing it is actually fighting to be Conor (McGregor) 2, to run it back. That’s the huge fight I’d think. But, legacy, ideal trying to get back to the undisputed (featherweight) title. Gotta go with (Ilia) Topuria. He’d be the man that I couldn’t help but figure it out, but we’ll see. We’re having a little bible verse beef on top of Twitter right now, so life’s good. It’s looking like it’s gonna be him next, but first thing’s first,” Holloway said to KHON2.

“Justin kicked like a horse, man. Like a horse, you know? I can feel it today. Couple days later, I can still feel it, so we’re gonna recover. I got my beautiful wife with me here. We got our wedding anniversary tomorrow, so that’s all I’m focused on. Seeing my son, too. I didn’t see him for a couple days now. It was hard talking to him on the phone after the fight, the guy was celebrating more harder than me. At the end of the day, I just got family to think of right now and we’ll go from there,” Holloway added.

Although Holloway would like to face McGregor, it seems unlikely that the fight will happen next. Instead, the Hawaiian will likely face Topuria next.

Ilia Touria not impressed with Max Holloway

Although Max Holloway pulled off the upset win over Justin Gaethje, Ilia Topuria wasn’t impressed with the Hawaiian.

Topuria called to defend his belt against Holloway later this year, in what would be one of the most anticipated fights of the year.

However, it’s unclear whether or not that will be next, but if it does, fans should be in for a treat in a very fan-friendly fight.

UFC bantamweight Kayla Harrison expresses interest in fighting on UFC 303 in June.

This past weekend Harrison made a successful debut in the UFC, completely dominating former champion Holly Holm. The fight would also mark the former Olympic gold medallist’s first at the bantamweight limit.

Prior the bout, there had been real concerns around if Harrison would be able to make the weight as she has spent the majority of her career campaigning at lightweight. However, a very depleted Kayla Harrison would make her way to the scale and successfully make the 136lb limit for her bout against Holm.

After building a solid name for herself competing in the PFL, the win puts Harrison in a great position at the beginning of her UFC career and will likely be in a big fight next.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Harrison even stated her willingness to make a quick turnaround, something which analysts had debated due to her likely needing time to do a healthy weight cut.

“I heard that ‘Rocky’s’ hurt all of the sudden, so if she can’t fight right now, I’m happy to fight whoever, this summer, for a title,” Harrison said. “Why not just an interim title? Then I’ll unify it, then I’ll fight Amanda. If it’s for a title, I will make myself available [for June 29]. I would love [UFC 303]. F—k it, my time is now. I like the sound of [Harrison vs. Pena]. There would be some good sh*t talking from me.”
