The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be returning to Houston, Texas for Super Bowl weekend. The main event of the UFC Fight Night event on Feb. 4 features a featherweight battle between Dennis Bermudez and the returning Chan Sung Jung.

Promotion for the card is in full swing. The official YouTube channel of the UFC has uploaded a free fight showcasing Bermudez’s destruction of Jimy Hettes. “The Menace” and “The Kid” went toe-to-toe at UFC 171 back in March 2014.

The opening minutes of the first round were competitive. Hettes landed some left hands, but it didn’t bother Bermudez. “The Menace” was able to get Hettes to the ground. “The Kid” scrambled, but Bermudez threatened with a guillotine.

Bermudez’s pressure started to get to Hettes in the second stanza. He ripped away at Hettes with knees to the body. Bermudez dropped his opponent and rained down hammerfists. “The Kid” was able to survive the second round.

Round three was the end for Hettes. Bermudez chopped away with leg kicks. A knee sent Hettes crashing down the canvas for the final time. The fight was stopped and “The Menace’s” winning streak was extended to six.

After the bout, Bermudez would go on to win three of his next five fights. After being stopped by Ricardo Lamas and Jeremy Stephens in back-to-back losses, Bermudez got back on track with two straight wins.

He threw leather with Tatsuya Kawajiri back in Feb. 2016. “The Menace” won the fight by unanimous decision. He then did battle with Rony Jason on a UFC card in Salt Lake City. Bermudez emerged victories with another unanimous decision.

The UFC Fight Night event in Houston will be held inside the Toyota center. The co-main event will see rising strawweight Alexa Grasso undergo her most stern test to date. She goes one-on-one with Felice Herrig.

Injury Forces Sheldon Westcott off UFC Fight Night Event in Houston

The UFC Fight Night event set for Feb. 4 in Houston, Texas is undergoing another change. Yesterday it was revealed that Abel Trujillo and James Vick would do battle after their initial opponents were both pulled due to injury. Now the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in search of a new opponent for Alex Morono.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed that Sheldon Westcott was removed from the card after suffering an injury. The first two professional bouts for Westcott inside the Octagon didn’t go so well. He was TKO’d at The Ultimate Fighter: Nations finals by Elias Theodorou in the second stanza. He then moved back down to welterweight and lost a unanimous decision to Pawel Pawlak.

Westcott most likely saved his job with a TKO win over Edgar Garcia in the first round at UFC 195. It was his eighth stoppage and third knockout win. The Canadian 170-pounder will have to wait a little longer before going for his second straight win.

Since getting stopped by Diego Henrique da Silva back in June 2014, Morono has been on a tear. “The Great White” is on a seven-fight winning streak. He made his UFC debut at UFC 195 against Kyle Noke. Morono took the fight by split decision. He followed that up with a unanimous decision win over James Moontasri.

Headlining next month’s UFC Fight Night card will be the returning “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung taking on Dennis Bermudez. The co-main event will be a women’s strawweights clash. Rising 115-pounder Alexa Grasso will be tested in her second UFC bout against Felice Herrig.

After turning down a strawweight title bout against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade will be facing Invicta FC 115-pound champion Angela Hill. A light heavyweight bout between former interim title challenger Ovince Saint Preux and the “Prince of Cieszyn” Jan Blachowicz will also be on the card.

When Maryna Moroz went down with an injury, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) had to find a replacement to fight Jessica Andrade (15-5) at UFC 207. The promotion hired Angela Hill (6-2) back and the bout was set. Unfortunately, the U.S. Anti Doping Agency (USADA) guidelines required Hill re-enter the drug testing pool. There was not enough time to do so and the fight was off.

A report from MMARising.com (via Bloody Elbow) claims Andrade vs. Hill has been rescheduled. The two are set to meet at a UFC Fight Night event in Houston on Feb. 4. After being pulled from the UFC 207 card, “Bate Estaca” was offered a women’s strawweight title fight against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, but she wanted to have one more fight.

Andrade has won her first two bouts as a strawweight. She moved down after getting submitted in two of her last three bouts. The Brazilian finished Jessica Penne back in June at UFC 199. She followed that performance up with a submission victory over Joanne Calderwood.

Hill was on season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter. She was submitted in the first round by Carla Esparza. She made her professional debut inside the Octagon a successful one with a decision win over Emily Kagan. Back-to-back losses to Tecia Torres and Rose Namajunas marked the end of “Overtime’s” first UFC run.

A move to Invicta FC was much needed for Hill. She has won four in a row and even captured the strawweight title in her fight against Livia Renata Souza. In her last bout, Hill successfully defended her championship against Kaline Medeiros.

The UFC Fight Night event in Houston will be held inside the Toyota Center. Headlining the card will be a featherweight match-up between the returning “Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung and Dennis Bermudez. Rising 115-pounder Alexa Grasso will also throw down with Felice Herrig.

Jessica Andrade Plans to ‘Destroy Joanna Jedrzejczyk Without Mercy’ After Next Bout

No. 5 ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s strawweight Jessica Andrade could see action as early as next month. “Bate Estaca” made her 115-pound debut after getting choked out by Raquel Pennington. She earned a TKO win over Jessica Penne and followed that up with a first round submission victory over Joanne Calderwood.

Andrade was set to compete at the final UFC event of 2016, UFC 207. She was ready to meet Maryna Moroz, but Moroz went down with an injury. Angela Hill stepped in, but due to the U.S. Anti Doping (USADA) guidelines, Hill couldn’t compete because she needed to re-enter the testing pool.

“Bate Estaca” spoke with MMAFighting.com and vented her frustration over not finding an opponent:

“It was bad because I prepared for a long time to fight at UFC 207. That was a great card with great fights, and I believe my fight would be great too, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. When you become a good fighter, your opponents start to be afraid of you, so it’s hard to find opponents on short notice.”

Many fans were surprised when Andrade’s manager, Tiago Okamura, revealed that his fighter turned down a title opportunity against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The Brazilian bruiser said it was the right decision to make.

“We get paid per fight and the longer I stay without fights, the longer I stay without getting paid. I have bills to pay. I believe in me and I know I would win, and then I would be prepared physically and financially to do a training camp to destroy Joanna without mercy.”

Ideally, Andrade would like to return on the Houston card in February. She has some opponents in mind.

“Any top 5 would be a good fight for me. Michelle Waterson or Karolina [Kowalkiewicz] would be good options, too. Or Angela Hill, the Invicta champion. Whoever they put in front of me, I’ll be focused and ready to win.”

Bantamweights Ricardo Ramos and Michinori Tanaka have agreed to meet at UFC Fight Night 104 next month.

Ramos came to the eye of UFC president Dana White on his reality series “Lookin’ for a Fight” when he defeated Alfred Khashakyan. The 21-year-old was coming off a loss to Manny Vazquez in February for the Legacy FC title via decision, his first defeat in his career since turning pro in 2012.

The 26-year-old Tanaka (11-2) signed with the UFC as an unbeaten prospect in 2014, earning a decision win over Roland Delorme in his debut. Since, he has dropped two of three, beating Joe Soto and falling to Rani Yahya and Kyung Ho Kang.

UFC Fight Night 104 features the return of “The Korean Zombie,” as Chan Sung Jung battles Dennis Bermudez from the Toyota Center in Houston. Also, Alexa Grasso faces Felice Herrig and Evan Dunham meets Abel Trujillo.
