Curtis Blaydes emphatically bounced back from his quick KO defeat against Francis Ngannou to stop former champion, Junior Dos Santos, inside two rounds last time out. Alexander Volkov rebounded from his own KO defeat against Derrick Lewis to beat the controversial former NFL star Greg Hardy in his last fight. The winner of this fight will be on the cusp of a title shot but will probably need another big win before they face off against the likes of Ngannou, Daniel Cormier, or heavyweight king Stipe Miocic.

UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Calvillo went down at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. In the main event Cynthia Calvillo enjoyed a successful divisional debut scored a unanimous decision win over top flyweight contender Jessica Eye.

Prior to that Marvin Vettori settled his beef with Karl Roberson by submitting ‘Baby K’ in the co-main event. Elsewhere on the card we had three successive knockouts inside one minute, including Tyson Nams vicious one-punch KO of revered kickboxer Zarrukh Adashev. Mariya Agapova enjoyed a successful UFC debut stopping Hannah Cifers inside one round.

UFC Fight Night: Eye vs. Cavillo is now official after an interesting morning of weigh-ins in Las Vegas. In the main event, Jessica Eye missed weight for a second consecutive fight. Karl Roberson came in 4.5lbs overweight for his fight with Marvin Vettori – a fight that was previously cancelled due to Roberson suffering the consequences of a failed weight cut. On the prelims, Zarrukh Adashev missed the bantamweight limit by 2.5lbs and Darrick Minner didn’t weigh in at all after falling ill – he has withdrawn from his fight against Jordan Griffin.

In the main event, Brazilian submission specialist Gilbert Burns announced himself as the next contender at welterweight by dominating former champion Tyron Woodley. ‘Durinho’ picked up a unanimous decision verdict and called out his teammate Kamaru Usman but also said he’s open to fighting fellow contenders Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.
