Moraes

Marlon Moraes is itching to fight again. The problem seems to be nobody is willing to sign on the dotted line.

Moraes last competed in December when he won a controversial split decision against Jose Aldo. He was later slated to fight Petr Yan last month until the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to those plans.

And with Yan now set to face Aldo for the vacant bantamweight strap at UFC 251 on July 11, Moraes is in limbo. It’s even more so the case as Aljamain Sterling — who Moraes knocked out back in 2017 — is all but slated to face the winner of that matchup.

Moraes Wants Cruz Or Garbrandt

“Magic” is not looking to remain on the sidelines, though. He has been looking to fight the likes of former champions Dominick Cruz or Cody Garbrandt in the meantime.

However, he claims they are refusing to accept a fight with him.

“I’m not the best making excuses! I was taught to say yes for every challenge. Get the F.. in the Ring and Fight. Enough is enough thats names available and they all saying No. what’s up? @cody_nolove fastest hands in all roster etc etc why No ???????? @dominickcruz best batamweight all the time etc etc why no ????????

“Am I wrong???? Would you watch these fights?”

Neither Cruz nor Garbrandt have responded to the post as of yet.

However, Moraes is certainly right in that either one of those fights would be worth watching.

Usman vs. Masvidal Nearly Official

Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal is close to being 100% confirmed, and the UFC is already prepared with a promo for the title fight slated to take place at UFC 251.

Following the withdrawal of Gilbert Burns after he tested positive for COVID-19, Masvidal offered his services to step in and face Usman on short notice. Negotiations concluded soon after with both parties agreeing to a fight.

Both fighters are currently in Las Vegas and unless there is a positive COVID-19 test for either of them, they will be traveling to Abu Dhabi tomorrow to headline UFC 251 on July 11.

The UFC seems to be assuming all will go down without a hitch as president Dana White shared an epic promo for the fight on Sunday.

Kamaru Usman

Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal have agreed on terms for a welterweight title fight at UFC 251 on July 11. Earlier today Ariel Helwani of ESPN reported talks were ongoing for the fight, but the UFC still faced a few hurdles before the long-time rivals would face off.

Gilbert Burns was expected to face ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ on ‘Fight Island’ next weekend. Unfortunately, ‘Durinho’ and two of his team tested positive for COVID-19 shortly before they were due to fly out the island for fight night. Therefore, he has been pulled from UFC 251 leaving Usman without an opponent.

Veteran MMA reporter Helwani has now confirmed fight negotiations are complete and both men will undergo COVID-19 tests in Las Vegas before flying out to Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

“This just in. Negotiations for Usman vs. Masvidal are done, per sources. All sides agreed to terms. Usman is en route to LV; Masvidal landed earlier via private jet. Once at the hotel, they’ll have to take a COVID test and then quarantine while awaiting results. If negative, they’ll fly to AD likely tomorrow. Negotiations were obviously a huge hurdle but now that is clear. Now it depends on that COVID test, which is obviously a massive hurdle, too. Total crap shoot. If (hopefully not) they don’t pass the COVID test the fight can’t and won’t happen,” Helwani wrote on social media.

Who wins at UFC 251? Kamaru Usman or Jorge Masvidal?

Geoff Neal Thinks Michael Chiesa Is Scared To Fight Him

Geoff Neal

Welterweight contender Geoff Neal believes Michael Chiesa is “scared sh*tless” by the idea of fighting him.

Speaking to MMA Fighting Neal revealed he is happy with the UFC who are actively trying to secure him an opponent – it just seems like no-one wants to fight him, he said.

“The UFC’s been doing a great job trying to find me a fight. They can only do so much. They can’t make somebody fight. You hear Dana White say all the time ‘I can’t make these guys fight.’ That’s really what it comes down to. They’ve been trying. I don’t know the exact details of what the other parties have been offered but I know sh*t’s been going around and they’ve been pretty much saying no.”

Neal was keen to say he doesn’t believe most welterweights are ducking him, just Chiesa who thinks is “scared sh*tless” by the idea of fighting him, he said.

“I don’t want to call any fighters scared. Well, I will call one fighter scared. I think Michael Chiesa is f*cking scared sh*tless to fight me.”

“I feel like that fight makes so much sense and he’s trying to make it seem like it doesn’t make sense,” Neal said. “That doesn’t make sense to me and it makes me think you’re scared. You only have three wins in the welterweight division. You fought two dudes who are pretty much f**king lightweights and one dude that’s old as hell.

“And then you think you deserve Colby Covington? No. Just because you’re ranked No. 7 or 8 or whatever the f**k you are, fight me. I’m 5-0, you’re 3-0, the fight makes sense. He’s trying to make it like the fight doesn’t make sense and I don’t know what to make of that.”

If it really is fear keeping Chiesa or any other fighter from stepping in againt him, Neal says they should probably think about calling it a day.

“If it is fear keeping people from fighting me, they need to retire from this sport,” Neal said. “This is the fight game. When it comes time to fight, yeah, I’m scared but I don’t give a f**k. That’s not going to stop me from fighting somebody. It’s the fight game.

“If that’s the reason they don’t want to fight me because they’re scared, they need to re-evaluate what the hell they’re doing.”

Do you think Michael Chiesa is ducking Geoff Neal?

Sean O'Malley

Bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley is set to start selling his own merchandise because he “ain’t getting sh*t” from his current deal with Reebok. ‘O’Malley’ previously revealed the sportswear giant had made more than $1 million from selling items with his name or image on. Despite helping the company earn so much money he earnt just $3000.

Speaking to MMA Fighting ‘Suga’ opened up about his current deal with Reebok and revealed his plan to start his own apparel line in the near future, he said.

“The whole Reebok thing is insane. I think it was back-to-back years that it was over a million dollars [of merchandise sold]. I know one year for sure, I don’t want to say anything that’s not true but I have it in my e-mails, I think it was back-to-back years they did over a million dollars with the shirts and whatever else they sell on Reebok and I got $3,000 and $5,000 I think for those. Absolutely insane.”

“We’re dropping my own merch line soon and I think it’s going to be fun. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do, too, get into the ‘Suga’ brand, the clothing, and I think it’s slowly going to build like any business and be something really cool.”

O’Malley is even planning to launch his own strain of marijuana which he hopes can replicated the success UFC superstar Conor McGregor has enjoyed with his whisky business.

“I’ve done the ‘Suga’ strain before but we just didn’t do it right,” O’Malley explained. “We didn’t have the right people to build that but I think we’re coming out with the ‘Suga’ strain that’s going to be all around the world. That was my issue with the last one. It was only in California. We couldn’t get it out of California so it didn’t do as good. But I think we’re about to get in with a ‘Suga’ strain in the next couple of months, maybe a little bit longer.

“But I think that’s going to be my whiskey business like Conor. I think that’s going to do the best. So we’re getting into all the industries.”

Will you buying some merch from Sean O’Malley?

Jon Jones

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones detailed how he helped save a man’s life on Independence Day.

Jones initially took to social media to wish all his followers and fans a good day, he wrote.

“Together we stand, hope you guys enjoy your Fourth of July!”

‘Bones’ then went on to explain how he and his group found a severely dehydrated man on the ground and proceeded to help revive him.

“We found this man laying in the middle of a field today, he was suffering from severe dehydration. The group honestly believe we saved that man’s life. It felt amazing, those men and women were heroes out there today

“Yes we dragged him underneath a tree and forced him to drink about four water bottles. Even got him to bite a hotdog before we left.”

“Definitely not trying to paint myself as some hero, I was more proud for my group members to be honest. Some of the younger kids got to learn some valuable lessons today.“

Jones is currently in a pay dispute with the UFC and has announced he will not be competing in MMA anytime soon. The beef stems from failed negotiations for a fight with heavyweight knockout artist Francis Ngannou. UFC boss Dana White claims Jones asked for obscene money (about $30million) to step up in weight. Jones on the other hand insists he never mentioned specific figures and berated White for lying about him in public. Jones has since announced he will take a hiatus from the sport and has even gone as far as to announce he will be dropping his belt.

During his time away from fighting Jones has focused on being a productive member of society. He was on the frontline fighting against looters and rioters in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder. Jones also offered to help rebuild small businesses impacted by the riots.

Is Jon Jones changing your opinion of him with these noble deeds?
