Junior Dos Santos calls out former title contender Alistair Overeem following his latest win under the UFC banner inside of the Octagon. The former UFC heavyweight champion scored a second round TKO win over Tai Tuivasa in the UFC Adelaide headliner. This fight went down on Saturday night at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia on FOX Sports 1.

Following the fight, he made it perfectly clear who he wants to fight next. This comes after the fact that he listed three names including Overeem as potential opponents while leading up to this fight. The other names were Cain Velasquez and Stipe Miocic.

The first fight between JDS and Overeem came back at the UFC on FOX 17 event where Dos Santos was knocked out in 2015. Although he sees himself winning any of those rematches, he thinks a fight against Overeem makes the most sense right now.

“I see myself winning all those fights,” dos Santos said (h/t to MMAFighting). “So, I think this rematch would make a lot of sense now. Overeem is a smart guy. Every time he asks for something, it’s because he thinks it’s going to be better for him. I don’t do that type of shit. I’m asking for him because it makes sense. In my mind, it makes sense to do this rematch right now.”

At the end of the day, Dos Santos is on a certain path which is to get to a title shot. This is a title that held in 2011 and 2012 but eventually lost it to Cain Velasquez.

“I won’t accept any of my defeats,” dos Santos said. “I really believe that I have everything that it takes to be No. 1 in this division. And I want to prove it. I want to show all you guys that I’m right.”

Mark Hunt Receives Classy Farewell From UFC After Adelaide Fight

Mark Hunt receives a classy farewell from the UFC following his latest fight.

Mark Hunt receives a classy farewell from the UFC after finishing up his latest fight under the banner even though they have had their issues. As a result of these issues, it’s likely that he will not sign with the Las Vegas-based promotion and fight somewhere else.

In a heavyweight bout on the main card of the UFC Adelaide event, the MMA veteran suffered a unanimous decision loss to Justin Willis. This event went down at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia on FOX Sports 1.

There has been a major issue between Hunt and the UFC, which dates back to his fight against Brock Lesnar. As seen in the fight, Lesnar won a unanimous decision that night which was subsequently overturned.

This happened once it was revealed he failed two USADA-issued drug tests before the bout. This led to Hunt filing a civil suit against Lesnar and the UFC to settle his grievances. His latest fight marked the final bout on his contract and has had his sights set on the exit door from the UFC for some time now.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up. Bellator MMA is always an option as they need to sign more heavyweight stars. RIZIN is a real possibility due to his history of fighting in Japan under the PRIDE FC banner back in the day. Also, ONE is throwing around a lot of money right now.

Junior Dos Santos Voices Confusion Over Brock Lesnar’s Drawing Power

Junior Dos Santos voices his confusion over why Brock Lesnar is a such a big star and draws so well on PPV.

Junior Dos Santos voices his confusion over why former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is a such a big star and draws so well. This is an interesting take considering that the two stars have never fought each other under the UFC banner inside of the Octagon. This was at a time where both were in their primes and at the top of their games.

Following his win over Tai Tuivasa in the headliner of UFC Adelaide at Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, South Australia on Saturday, JDS talked about Lesnar. This is where he questions why the current WWE Universal champion is such a big drawing power on pay-per-view.

It’s been established that Daniel Cormier would like to make his next title defense against Lesnar, which could come as early as the first quarter of 2019.

“He’s incredible,” dos Santos said of Cormier (h/t to MMAFighting). “He’s an amazing athlete. He’s doing some amazing things in his career. I think it would be very good for me. Actually for anyone to fight someone like him. I don’t know what’s happening right now. I think he wants to fight Brock Lesnar or something, it doesn’t make any sense for me. I don’t really care. If the UFC wants to make that happen, that’s fine.”

Junior Dos Santos Gives His Take

JDS continued by stating that he understands why Cormier wants to fight Lesnar next as there is big money on the line. This still doesn’t answer his questions about Lesnar’s drawing power as he doesn’t understand why people like to see him fight.

“The way I understand is that’s what Daniel Cormier wants to do to make money,” dos Santos said. “So somehow, people want to see that. Because if they pay to see that it’s gonna be interesting for the UFC. Somehow, Brock Lesnar sells. Somehow they want to see him fighting. I don’t know why. Why? Because he says stupid things? Because he’s a big guy who says stupid things? It doesn’t really make much sense for me.”

Mauricio Rua vs. Tyson Pedro Full Fight Video Highlights

Check out the full fight video highlights from Tyson Pedro and former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua’s fight at UFC Adelaide.

In the co-main event of last night’s (Sat. December 1, 2018) UFC Adelaide event, a very interesting light heavyweight contest took place.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua took on rising prospect Tyson Pedro. Rua recently had a three-fight win streak snapped by Anthony Smith. “Lionheart” mauled Rua in Germany this past summer. “Shogun” needed to get back in the win column with a victory over a young rising star like Pedro.

Pedro comes off a disappointing outing against Ovince Saint Preux in June. He was submitted by “OSP” with an armbar in the first round. Pedro has shown great signs of potential inside the cage, and a big win over a former champion in Rua would’ve definitely put him back in the spotlight.

Both men came out scrappy, and drug it into the third round. However, in the end, it was Rua who picked up the TKO victory when the fight went to the ground.
